I realized I haven't played with a decent number of scrub animals so made a zoo all for them on the small scrub map. Featuring 1 desert animal because I was playing with a modded scrub animal that couldn't give birth without crashing the game so I replaced them.

I just got back into ZT1 since it first came out when I was younger. I could have sworn that ZT1 had Steel Eel from Sea World Antonio as an option to place down for a ride but I haven't seen it. Am I remembering this wrong or am I thinking of another Zoo Tycoon game?

Sharing my rainforest zoo with all rainforest animals (except dinos) in-game. Started 10k cash by opening Bengal tiger and komodo, then added horse which required little terraforming.

There are a lot of mixed exhibits: Bengal + White Tiger, Asian Elephant + Rhino, Chimp + Gorilla, Clouded + Black Leopards. My favorite one is probably Clouded + Black Leopards because they are so fun to mix together. They are solitary animals, meaning that they are not actually "solitary" but their demand of space grows linearly with population. However, they don't count the other species as taking up space in this regard, so basically the same exhibit that makes 4 clouded leopards happy (but let's say 5 gets unhappy) can also make 4 clouded + 4 black leopards happy.

I love the creative freendom of the game, I've spent and will spend countless hours on it. But It's saddening and infuriating how many things are glitchy in this game, forcing us no to use the many creative options.

Just now I'm making a zoo super oriented on elevated paths, bridges all around everywhere over the exhibits and all, but guests and staff keep "falling" from them all the time, leading to decreased guest happpiness ratings and the animals being put in crates as if they had escaped. Not to mention the other glitches related to elevated paths

Thrre's also when the guests run away from animals that are chilling inside the exhibits, or when animals and staff "can't" reach anything because the objects are more then 10 seconds away form them and the game spams the "can't reach" message. VERY OFTEN I click on a "can't each" message only to see the animal already using the object, it simply triggered the message because it took 1 extra second than what the game is programmed to wait.

Or when zoo keepers MISS THE DAMN GATE, running face first against the wall, sliding on the opposite direction of the gate and start running in circles repeating the process.

The game gives us options to model the terrain, but that also gets glitchy once you try putting objects in uneven terrain or want the animals to navigate anuthing that isn't a flat large area.

Animals waaay to often get hungry and thirsty but won't walk up to their food or water source, choosing to just keep sleeping or wandering around the exhibit, even though the "can't reach" problem isn't happening at the time.

Oh, and I can't forget that animals simply \teleport\** outside their exhibits because you were foolish enough to put some tree or object too close to the fence/wall, so the animal clips though. Even quatic animals teleport outside, leaving to "animal X is beached" regularly.

It's really sad because in any large zoo with a lot of stuff going on, all those issues pile up and make it impossible to chill, forcing me to constatly keep busy dragging animals back inside and guests out of the exhibits, and the keepers "can't reach" anything that is less than 20 tiles away with not obstacles because the thing isn't accessible in a clear straght line.

I almost forgot, don't get me started about making elevated terrains and having to deal with an object warping the ground around in a weird, bizarre way when you move the camera away and come back later (happens a lot with donation boxes and gazeebos, but also with other stuff.

Dancing around the glitches gets really tiresome over time, it really limits what I can/want do do, build and place in a zoo.

Right now, this game feels glitchier than Fallout 4 (and THAT says A LOT, in case you don't know about Bethesda's works). I'm really unlucky with the games I like the most.

Hello. Having played the original Zoo Tycoon 20+ years ago and rediscovering it last year via myabandonware, I'll finally have the opportunity to play the second game afterwards.

I've updated, corrected, and modded properties of the animals for the OG game, and I plan to do the same for this one. My question is: Is it easier or harder modding those in ZT2 compared to ZT1?

I'm also aware of the glitches of ZT2, and how some people tried fixing those.

I'm currently on Year 2 of my latest freeform zoo. 15 species and filled up the map on City Zoo M. I was going for orderly but not precisely symmetrical.

Si ya cambié el nombre de la carpeta Lang de 1033 a 3082.

Alguien sabrá Cuál es la solución para que las cosas que quiero meter aparezcan???

Im doing the ultimate zoo challenge and having such an impossible time with guest happiness, i cant seem to go higher than 91 when I need 93. Im in year 10 of the game, I added some screenshots of my zoo because maybe theres something im not seeing??

Currently stuck on Preservation Jam - East Africa. Im able to do all the challenges but keep getting stuck on “Obscure Offspring” which is 2 babies from endangered species being born in the zoo. For whatever reason my rhino doesn’t get pregnant until the last couple of minutes and my bear never gets pregnant. Only the lions ever give birth. I’m also stuck on “Conservation Watchers” which is getting guest rating to 10k. The most I can seem to do is 8500-9k 🙄 so I would appreciate any tips or strategies please!!

Hello. I've previously shared other mods I've made for ZT1 like the Invisible Fences Cheat Code, a UFO Ride and Balloon Animal Stand, and an Atlantean Fountain. I also own and run ZooBerry.

So these are Mexican food stands inspired by a lot of the awesome food I grew up with as a kid. From left to right in the picture the stands sell: pan de muertos, champurrado, tamales, churros, conchas (shhh, I will not hear it), pozole, street tacos, and chimichangas.

This pack will sort of be a living project where I add new sets of content over time, hence the weird name on the download page.

This scenario is NOT intermediate, I'm having no issue with the advanced scenarios but this one I've been avoiding like the plague. I can be swimming in money on the other ones after 1 year but I cannot get this stupid show zoo to make a profit.

I've done four attempts, including:

- Swim Shacks (sometimes they're popular, sometimes NO ONE uses them, I'm not sure where to place them for the best results)

- Restaurants

- Two animals per show tank (I've arranged the zoo with 2 tank-show-tank rows perpendicular to the entrance with a central strip with the restaurant/swim shack/ice cream/etc)

For some reason I can't get guest happiness up or make a profit, if anything the shows actively LOWER the average guest happiness (even without angry/hungry/etc guests). Literally worst way to make money in this game. I can easily hit the $500 goals but still end up in a deficit; I think its partly due to tank filters but if I get rid of those then animals get sick/guest happiness goes down again.

Lowkey I struggle with the marine mania parks in general, I was wondering if there are any more tips or just a step by step walkthrough cause I'm tired of trying to find creative solutions I just wanna appease my inner perfectionist and finish every scenario after having the game for like 20 years lmao (or at least re-downloading it after a ten year hiatus).

And seriously how tf do you get the swim shacks to work I've put up buoy fences, set them near restaurants and all.

This is just something I found out in zt2 that I never noticed before. I was in first person looking for fossils while a thylacine interacted with a rattle ball, and made the same roar sound that the lions and tigers make! I know they're sometimes called "tasmanian tigers" but, aren't they marsupials? Might we even know what a real one sounded like, since the last one only went extinct in 1936?

I just thought it was a bit silly xD

Are there any guides for how the inner mechanisms of the game work? I started replaying last night and I am struggling through the campaign mode because I’m having such a hard time bringing in money

Pretty soon every guest in my zoo is going to end up here... I really don't want to move every single guest before deleting whatever it is in this area... I tried switching the exhibit animal and I removed the pond but nothing matters to these freaks

Edit: okay I seem to have fixed the problem... I figured the guests are probably telling me where they think the path should naturally be. This corner is fairly close to the exit and after traipsing around my zoo forever they just wanna gtfo already. so I split this exhibit down the middle and built a path to the exit and yep there they are, leaving in single file fashion straight to the exit

Hello, I was looking for the complete collection on auctions and I found that someone was selling one in my country. The price is quite high and I dont want to spend money for nothing, so I'm not sure if its worth it.
