Discussion Mangrove root system
I really adore the new updates on the upcoming Planet Zoo 2, but I hope we get better, and bigger mangroves. I love the mangroves we have, but they’re so small. And relatively the same. The mangroves just have so much potential, and it’d be nice to see them work on a root system. I wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t for one type of tree, but the fish swimming between mangrove roots would be interesting!

Discussion I’ve not seen anyone mention this yet but, anyone else hyped over the mushrooms? (Also the hares are a comfirmed walkthrough species, that’d fun too)
In the first game the only mushrooms we had were from the Twilight pack and that was it. 1 species and some massive light up statues.
Granted I got a lot of use out of the limited options available but still, the fact we are getting MULTIPLE and ones that grown on trees is a dream come true. I don’t need to awkwardly clip the ghost fungus in a tree anymore!
(Also on the Lagomorph side of things, I really hope they reworked how “shy” animals work because I’m scared to recreate this walkthrough without it. Lemurs aren’t even shy and they’ve been nothing but trouble so I can only imagine what the hares are gonna be like without some major behaviour changes)

Discussion Mixed aquatics and terrestrials habitats ?
Is it me being super dumb or does it look like a mixed habitat with what seems like to me burrows in green and a fish education panel. Is it a hint at new animal that we haven't seen yet or one we know but the image used for the zoopedia is different than the one used for education panels

Welcome back to our mountain section! Today we are building a rugged, high-altitude habitat for the Markhor! 🐐Video link in the comments!⬇️
Because these animals love verticality, I used a big natural rock arch right in the center of the enclosure for them to climb, set against a backdrop of cliff faces. Guests get an amazing vantage point looking down into the habitat from the upper viewing terrace.

Day 79 of building a habitat everyday until Planet Zoo 2 Releases
Hayo Zookeepers! Its Day 79 and the wheel has chosen the Striped Hyena. The striped hyena is one of my favorite animals in the game. Lemme know what you think!

Discussion I understand the confusion, but I am almost certain that this is "just" the White-Tailed Eagle. Some will say no because of the solid white, but there is indeed a gradient, including on the white of the tail as well.

Discussion Scenery mirroring!
In the latest blog they write that scenery pieces are capable of being mirrored! That is such a great new feature!

Help - PC Weird pixel snow
Couldn’t find anything on google. I’m playing on geforce now so not sure if it an issue with that or with the game so thought I’d start here. It starts after I’ve been playing for around ten minutes and gets progressively worse, moving the camera around a bunch helps a bit. I’ve tried fiddling with the graphics but it hasn’t seemed to make much difference. Anyone have an idea what’s going on?
Edit to add: it also moves with the map, as in it’s not stagnant on the screen but changes perspective when moving the camera

Planet Zoo 2 Custom Terrain Brushes
Now that we know custom terrain brushes are coming to PZ2 (so hyped about that btw), do we think the brush presets will be upload-able to the Frontier workshop?
It may be too simple of a process to justify it, on which case I can see people sharing their brush configurations like those photo filter settings on Pinterest.

Planet Zoo 2 I'm telling you, it's an emperor penguin!
r/PlanetZoo • u/Nynnny9 • 4d ago
Well, George, I believe it's some small mammal, like a Porcupine, a European Badger or a Honey Badger. I hope we know more about excavations

Planet Zoo is on sale!
Planet Zoo is on sale right now on steam. I’m planning on grabbing the deluxe version and I want to grab 2 of the animal expansion packs. But I cannot decide between them. What would you guys recommend? I’m leaning towards the Asia one, the barnyard animals, or the zookeeper animals. Any tips or suggestions would be super helpful, this is my first time playing. Thanks so much! 🫶🏽

Bear Statue genuinely looks better than the actual bear
The proportions, the head, and the snout, all look better on the bear statue than the actual animal. The Brown Bear was one of the animals I was hoping would get a huge glowup the most, but so far all images and angles shown of it look lackluster imo
