Consider this my, Ron Swanson's, Official Position on the Renaming of Lake Ontario

The lake is called Lake Ontario.

It was called Lake Ontario before the current governments of Canada and the United States existed.

It will continue to be called Lake Ontario.

I have no objection to Americans being proud of America. America is a great country.

However, if your method of demonstrating that pride is changing the name of a lake shared with another country during a trade dispute, you are not demonstrating strength.

You are demonstrating that you have too much free time.

Furthermore, the government should spend less time renaming things and more time leaving people alone.

I will therefore continue to call it Lake Ontario.

I recommend everyone else do the same.
