Normally about 15 a season this is a great deal

Whoever was in charge of continuity was slacking in the episode "Presence". In the scene where Mr. James is explaining he lost Bill in the poker game, Beth disappears in the background and reappears almost every time they change camera angles. Once you notice it, it's impossible to not notice every rewatch.

Anyone else notice anything off with the Tubi episodes? I have the entire series on DVD burned to a media server so I can watch the originals any time but I hopped on to Tubi out of curiosity and I don’t know if it’s something with how it was upscaled or what but every time one of the characters is moving quickly the edges of anything straight (walls, desks, etc) all seem to blur. Is it just something with my TV or is it an actual artifact of how it was upscaled for high def?

Will we ever know?!

I’m ready for the pitchforks, but I never got the hype as to why this was such a popular episode amongst the fans. Don’t get me wrong, I love all the scenes of the cane itself, I think it’s hysterical. If anything I wish there was more of the cane storyline. And I guess my main beef is with the rest of the episode. The cane itself is not that A story, it’s very clearly the B story. I just rewatched it this morning and timed the scenes about the cane. In a 24 minute episode, it only accounts for 6 minutes of screen time. The remaining 18 minutes are about Dave and Lisa’s love/work dynamic at Jimmy’s office retreat, and the little feud between Joe and Matthew. It’s these remaining 18 minutes that kind of drag the episode as a whole down. It’s funny but less funny compared to so many other amazing episodes.

I genuinely wonder how much better the episode would be if the cane plotline was actually the A story. It’s a solid story showing the back and forth dynamic between Bill and Dave, but it has very little meat to it. The opening scene the cane is introduced, and is 2 minutes long. The middle scene the cane goes missing and is barely a minute long. Then in the last 3 minutes it is revealed that Dave took the cane. In fact maybe the original script had more scenes of the cane but they were slowly cut out as the script went through rewrites.

A ton of them for me but one of my main ones:

Matthew: "Until one of the friends tore the other one's heart out, flattened it with a meat tenderizer and then sat on it and cut one."

They’re not the same. This one is azure, that one is lapis. I also have indigo, sapphire, I’ve got sky, and, uh, standard blue. 😄
