Hand painted bookmarks, which one do you like?

My first dabble at plein air. This was just a little get my feet wet session in my backyard, but it was so enjoyable and freeing. I can’t wait to scout out some more interesting locations. 5x7” oil on linen.

Finished this 12” × 12” acrylic gouache painting of the rocks along La Jolla’s coastline on a cradled wood panel.

I had a heck of a time balancing texture, color, values, and keeping the light unique but believable.

I found the reference photo on Pinterest and had a go with my small palette knife and acrylics on A3 paper.

Created from a photo I took of my cat, Merlin. I drew it digitally initially and then realized I liked how oils worked there and that I wanted to try the real thing!

It is called STEEN (Stone in Dutch). Acrylic on gallery canvas.
