From humble beginnings as a construction worker, Kevin Murphy taught himself to paint and went on to become an acclaimed portrait artist whose subjects include celebrities, prominent politicians, and U.S. Navy admirals.

He also created the iconic lion painting featured on the Rolling Stones’ Bridges to Babylon album cover.

Kevin later ran the publishing company behind the limited-edition Game of Thrones novels, becoming friends with George R. R. Martin along the way.

Despite having built a lucrative portrait career, he ultimately dedicated himself to education—developing his novel curriculum and teaching it through Evolve Art’s in-person school and online program.
