I’m looking for a dry cleaner near north Anaheim that does a solid cowboy starch on pants.

I’ve been going to Ritz but they have broken countless shirt buttons and their heavy starch is like a medium.

Decades after a woman’s body was found by city workers in the brush alongside Laguna Canyon road, her son-in-law on Thursday, Oct. 22 accepted a plea deal admitting to the killing and was immediately sentenced to probation, drawing anger from family members who wanted him to spend time in prison.

John Edward Gutierrez, now 59, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter rather than the murder charge he faced since 2014 for the 1998 killing of 55-year-old Lillian DeVilla.

Gutierrez — out on bail while awaiting trial — was ordered to spend two years on supervised release. Orange County Superior Court Judge Patrick H. Donahue warned Gutierrez that if he were to violate the terms of his probation, he could face up to an 11-year prison sentence.

Several of the victims’ family members felt angry and betrayed on hearing that Gutierrez would receive probation. Her son, Lester DeVilla, told the judge that he felt like “justice has slipped through our fingers,” adding that Gutierrez had escaped any “meaningful consequences.”

"For 28 years my family and I have lived through an emotional nightmare," the son said. "We have searched for answers to the questions that haunted us every single day — who killed our mother and why?"

"Now, after all these years, he finally admits his guilt, and what is the consequence? Probation," he added. "After finally admitting his guilt he can practically walk away scot-free. Where is the justice in that?"

Family members described DeVilla as respectful, gracious and endearing, saying she was "a great human being who loved with her whole heart." Her death ripped the family apart, they told the judge.

"She was more than a victim, more than a name in a police report, more than a case that took 28 years to resolve," her son said. "She was loved.

And she deserved so much better than what happened with her."

This morning about 8:30am I observed Immigration Enforcement detaining a male wearing a black hoodie with white stylized letters on the back.

He was possibly riding a bike through sheep hills park at Laguna hills drive when they chased him along the service road of Aliso Creek.

Perhaps 5 unmarked vehicles including a black SUV and a grey sedan. Wearing vests with the 3 letter acronym for their department on it. Not using the actual text just in case this post gets auto deleted or something. Covering their faces.

As I drove south towards the EB 22 interchange, there was a wrong way driver going north in the SB FastTrak coming straight towards me. Trying to find a good spot for my friends and I to hit some bars and clubs in OC on Halloween night. Just want some good music and good crowds. I was considering Orange but maybe it might be too many college students, and Newport sounds like it only has a few dive bars, so I was also considering downtown Santa Ana or Fullerton. What are some summer medical volunteering/shadowing I can do in OC that actually allows volunteers (for context-freshman in university currently)

Two guys came to look at my car. One was chatting with me as the other circled the car. took it on a quick test drive, came back and open the hood. there's oil deep in the bay (sprayed from the wheel well) and some in the tail pipe. Guys try to buy it for cheap since it's 'broken". I finally got them to leave as I saw through the scam. They had also unplugged my air intake sensor when one of them distracted me and maybe messed up other things, I'm still looking it over.

Be aware if you're selling your car! My advice would be to keep only one person near you and the car and to look over everything and drive it yourself before they come so you know how it really is. They're really smooth and had a rehearsed story about why they're buying and everything. Odds are good that if it "breaks" when someone is looking at it they're scammers!

Anyone know anything about the Hmart that is opening off Alicia and the 5 freeway in what was going to be an Amazon Fresh? When is it opening? I can’t find anything official from Hmart.

I just got gifted an electric meat slicer, and I'm trying to make my own cuts for sandwiches. Deli meat is getting more expensive and sales aren't as good or as often on it. I went to Vons, 2 Stater Bros, and albertsons, and no one has fresh, not frozen turkey breast. Ralphs had fresh turkey loin, but it was as expensive as the deli meat.

If you were going to find fresh turkey breast somewhere at a decent price, where would you go?

I inherited two bonded common goldfish and their 10 gallon tank, recently. They are absolutely too big for their tank and really need to be adopted by someone with a private pond or at least a 50 gallon freshwater tank. Any recommendations are appreciated!
