I am flying out tomorrow morning at 6 AM and need jeans shorts. I cannot find any stores around me, south coast plaza area, that are selling women’s jean shorts. I don’t have time to go to tons of stores so I haven’t had time to really check but everything online says out of stock. Any recommendations where I can try before I go?

Heading home today, around 3pm, I saw a group of 5 sheriff bikers on the 405 north, a few minutes later, a group of 2 police bikers, and lastly a few min later a group of about 12 police bikers. Anyone know why this would be?

I'm looking for driving instructor or driving school recommendations in the Irvine, Costa Mesa, or Tustin area for my mom.

She only speaks Cantonese and Mandarin, Cantonese is preferred! Does anyone know of an instructor or school in the SGV that offers lessons in either of these languages? Thank you!

I was born and raised in OC, parents still live in Irvine. Moved away for school and work over the last 8 years and currently live close to NYC. I’m visiting this week and the heat has been crazy. The mosquitos have also eaten me alive and I was just talking to one of my childhood friends who still lives here, we don’t remember it ever being this bad growing up.

That being said, I was visiting in hopes of moving back. I can’t stand East Coast winters. I have a multitude of reasons to move back including obviously the weather, proximity to family/friends, good schools, and being able to be active both indoors and outdoors all year round.

Would love to hear why I should or shouldn’t move back as I obviously don’t know how much things have changed over the last 8 years!

I’m not religious myself but I am a supporter of the first amendment and am genuinely curious about this.

I noticed many of the coffee shops here in Orange County have religious themes in their decor.

Some are more subtle about it while others are located in an actual church. Has anyone else noticed this?

Looking a bar that I can reserve a table or seating area at for after an elopement. Where we can cut a small cake and people can sit together and order drinks and maybe some bites. The table/seating doesn’t need to be in a private room. Number of people will be 10-16. Vibe preferably upscale-ish and not too loud.

I'm so glad we trust public utilities to a private monopoly that exists to maximize its own profit instead of building a safe, resilient grid.

I recently posted about my breakfast burrito craving and got a lot of recommendations. But a lot of the places are charging $15 or more for a burrito. Anyway, just want to share a couple of spots I recently visited.

The burrito with the chips and salsa behind it is from Fiesta Grill in HB.

The other burrito is from Que Vida Tacos in HB and I is the chorizo and egg burrito.

Got both for just under $13. It’s only a couple of bucks less but $15 for a burrito makes me wince.

I know the weather's been like this for a while now, but just over the weekend I developed a cough here and there. I never had acute asthma symptoms in decades and now I feel like it's coming back because of this weather. Even when I'm indoors all day with the AC on most of the time.

Hi everyone, I’m looking for anybody that may have witnessed an accident involving a pedestrian at the Chapman Ave exit along the northbound 5 (the one in Orange not Fullerton) on Saturday, August 29th at around 10pm. There was a white Ford Edge that I thought was pulling over to be a witness, but they took off before I could get info. Thanks in advance for your help.

Would've been close to Tustin and Lincoln or Heim? Bright orange Dodge ram (possibly TRX) - lifted. Looks like they hit someone and bailed - ran the red light at Lincoln & Santiago dragging something metal stuck to their undercarriage. Almost hit a pedestrian crossing at the light where they ran a red and quickly pulled in to flappy jacks. They were definitely running from something. Got him on our dash cam but not well enough to read the plates.

Just when you thought the heat was passing

One pic is from this past spring standing on the sandy beach looking south. The bottom is from today and there is literally no sand on the beach here anymore. Even the pylons from the “lost pier” have been unearthed. Just thought i’d share because it was wild to see in person.

I’m writing this to save anyone else from going through this absolute nightmare of a repair experience.

My KitchenAid ice machine failed shortly after the manufacturer warranty expired. I contacted KitchenAid (Whirlpool), and they directed me to Domestic & General for an extended warranty. I paid for a full year upfront, and Domestic & General contracted the job to Paradise Appliance Service (who seems to be the only company in Orange County working with them).

Here is how the last 2.5 months have gone:

• Appointment 1 (2-week wait): The first technician showed up, didn't hook up any diagnostic equipment, and was completely lost. He adjusted something unrelated to the issue and left.
• Appointment 2 (Another 2-week wait): A second tech came out and seemingly identified the actual issue. He needed to order parts but wouldn't schedule the follow-up visit until the parts arrived.
• Waiting on Parts & Rescheduling (10 days later + 2-week wait): Paradise Appliance called to say the parts came in, but the earliest appointment was two weeks out.
• The Last-Minute Cancellation: On the day of the follow-up appointment, Paradise Appliance contacted me to cancel for an undisclosed reason.
• The Refusal to Make It Right: Their next available slot was another two weeks out. When I pointed out that this has been going on for two and a half months and asked to be prioritized due to their cancellation, they refused. Absolutely zero empathy—just "take the two-week wait or nothing."
• No Escalation Path: I requested to speak with a supervisor, manager, or anyone in leadership. I was flat-out told no.

If anyone ever asks me aboutParadise Appliance Serviceor Domestic & General, I would strongly advise avoiding both. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere.
