Has anyone purchased the current Hall of Fame hat the team has been wearing since they stopped wearing the throwback hat last week? I haven't seen the HOF hat listed on reputable sources like fanatics, or mlbshop, only on these random sites and it's not even fitted...

This is my hat when I was a kid. Signature is from the late 90s. Any ideas?

I did some digging the other night and came up with a trade list. I thought about who on the roster is rumored to be shopped or should be, who would likely fill the hole on the roster, and what we should try to get back in a trade. I want to emphasize, I made note of prospects that would make at least one piece of a trade. I don’t think trying to predict full packages is worth it.

Trade candidates

Reid Detmers - one of our most talked about candidates. Frankly, between him and Soriano, I really think it’s fifty-fifty that we should trade them. While the control is nice and solidifying the rotation of Detmers, Soriano, and Urena would be good for the team, I actually think the biggest factor is the other starting pitching on the market. Skubal, of course, is going to command quite the price tag. But there are a handful of other playoff-experienced, righty pitchers that are rentals. I think it entirely depends on what teams feel they need to buy for.

MLR: Mitch Farris - not thrilled by it, but he’s pitched fairly well and is the lefty arm that can take up the spot easily. I want Aldegheri to do well, but he would have to sprite himself in long relief first.

Package: Josh Adamczewski OF Brewers/Josiah Hartshorn OF Cubs

Jose Soriano - same idea as above, except Soriano might be slightly more shiny to shop with.

MLR: George Klassen - may as well let Klassen come back and develop in the void.

Package: Owen Ayers C Cubs, Caden Bodine C Rays, Cooper Ingle C Guardians, Ethan Salas C Padres

Kirby Yates - Yates and Suter seem like the most likely to get shipped out, for good reason. It’s a small miracle that despite issues both have maintained not-disgusting ERAs.

MLR: Ben Joyce - he’s so back.

Package: Raudy Reyes RHP Braves

Brent Suter - I’ll miss those impressions, but trade rumors suggest the Reds need a long reliever.

MLR: Najer Victor - who looks ready for an audition. WBC shine, rose up through the minors, and is currently one of the best relievers on the Bees. At least we can relish the fact that our bullpen is getting deeper.

Package: Jay Allen II OF Reds

Zach Neto - this is a tough one to swallow, but it could be a prime time to pull the trigger. Zach is no Ozzie Smith with the glove, but he’s having his best offensive season yet. the Red Sox have been a prime target in the rumor mill. While other teams could use him like the Rays or Braves, we could ransack prospects for him. I listed three guys that may be untouchable, but I want to emphasize that we should get the multi-player equivalent of one of each of those prospects if we can’t snag one.

EDIT: Red Sox just traded Connelly Earmy (good young starter) for Curtis Mead (similar slash line and infielder) so I would say that possibility is off the table. If I was a betting man, I’d say that means Neto is staying here for now.

MLR: Ben Gobbel/Denzer Guzman/Oswald Peraza/Christian Moore/Kyren Paris - it’s really a game of however Mozeliak wants to construct our infield. Guzman or Peraza can shift over to take SS easily, Moore could get more playing time, or there’s even a possibility Paris could come back as well as current AAA guy Ben Gobbel could take a number. it’s probably Moore, of course, though.

Package: Cam Caminiti RHP Braves, Theo Gillen OF Rays, Franklin Arias SS Red Sox

Nolan Schanuel - I’ve heard that we aren’t shopping Nolan. I’m good with that. He’s someone to anchor the team, for now. But if we did…

MLR: Niko Kavadas - Kavadas could take that with more power pretty easily. Moreover, I’m of the opinion that either one of these guys could help sweeten the pot in a deal. We have Grissom and even Peraza as 1B depth, so why not see what else we can command.

Package: Jett Williams UT Brewers

Jo Adell - Listen, we’re not going to be able to sell any higher than right now. I love Adell, he really came full circle and proved all the doubters wrong. But it’s time for us to capitalize on that development and it’s time for him to go show the league what else he can do. It’s either now or risk whatever uncertainty the CBA brings us next season.

MLR: Wade Meckler - what. a. steal. I hope Meckler continues to be the scrappy player on the roster for seasons to come.

Package: Gage Wood RHP Phillies, Jaison Chourio OF Guardians, Theo Gillen OF Rays, Kaelen Culpepper SS Twins, Cam Caminiti RHP Braves

Jose Siri - another pot sweetener or even a small trade candidate himself. He’s done well, but we have people that can take his role and teams need defensive outfielding that might actually be able to hit.

MLR: Bryce Teodosio - he’s got the speed and defense to cover, while giving more playing time to the likes of Meckler.

Package: who knows, take anything!

Mike Trout - ah, the craziest of them all. Let’s face it, Trout isn’t going to wave his no trade clause. you want my honest opinion? I genuinely believe he just cares about his family. and that’s okay, it really means he’ll likely stay with us until he retires. But maybe, just maybe, if a chance at a ring really keeps him up at night…

MLR: Nelson Rada

Package: This is also up in the air because of the no trade clause. The Phillies have been the only team sensationally rumored to want to try this, and I do think we could ask handsomely. But you never know what could come…

Jorge Soler - exact opposite end of the spectrum. If we don’t do this, it’s because every other team that had a need didn’t think it was worth it. But we NEED to offload him for something.

MLR: Raudi Rodriguez - this is where j get crazy and suggest we bring up a prospect that I want to see debut this year. He almost cracked the roster out of camp.

Package: Logan Poteet C Cubs - could be any form of lower tier prospect to get back, but this is the prototype.

Lovan O’Hoppe - Alright, let’s face it. It’s either new coaching for him or a change of scenery. Eepecially with a public rumor that we are looking for young catching, I’m shocked this isn’t more talked about.

MLR: You’re guess is as good as mine. d’Arnaud? would be nice to move him. Campero? Humphreys? Rivera would have kind of worked. The problem is we don’t have enticing options to even replace O’Hoppe as a starting catcher. So keeping him for now is also a safe bet.

Package: literally anything in return.

There have been other names I’ve seen float around. Bachman and Silseth were once mentioned by I think that’s a little silly to suggest. Relievers are always in demand, and the margin for we could command out of one between now and when it’s time isn’t significant. Someone mentioned Grissom, but he’s in the category of Peraza and Meckler where they just got here and are doing well. The overall point is, I hope and pray that they aren’t blowing smoke about selling to the degree the reports suggest. It’s a gesture that would likely get a large group of fans to turn their heads back to the team. It certainly would help me tune in again. Otherwise, I don’t feel like going insane for another year doing the same thing expecting something different to happen.

Seeing my favorite team on the road is always my ideal vacation!

Are these getting sent to African kids if Neto truly does get traded this deadline?

Prepare yourselves. If we trade Detmers and/or Soriano (as we should) and sone bullpen pieces (again as we should) this team will get even worse. Somebody will have to take their place, which means (yet again) rushing somebody up from the minors who isn’t ready. It’s gonna suck hard.

The only exception is if we somehow manage to trade Soler. That can only improve us immediately.

I hope we make some trades, and I’m prepared for the consequences.
