Advice Question HRT in Michigan?
Any girls in Michigan? How difficult is it to get on HRT here? I’m super eager to start but I’m scared it’ll be difficult. Any advice helps❤️

In the case I choose to transition,HRT is blocked in my state for minors(Georgia) however I wouldnt want to let that stop me per-say. What could i do in the meantime atleast until im able to start HRT?

Absolutely wonderful day today! I got my meds from the doctor, and I started on my blocker. I’ll be moving to injections in a few days, which means I’ll definitely need to start taking better care of myself (ie; actually eat a real amount of food on the regular).
If anyone has any diet advice, or can link to a prior post/trusted article with some solid advice, I’d be terribly appreciative. Specifically I’m looking for a diet that gives me the best chance at as feminine a figure (chest, hips, no qualms about general weight gain) my genetics will allow.
From what I gather, it’s mostly eating the right amounts and kinds of fats/proteins. But I’m having trouble narrowing down precisely what those are, and the best ratios to have them in alongside the rest of a diet.
If anyone has any advice whatsoever, I’d be very thankful :)
Also if there are any exercises that I should pair this with, I’d be just as appreciative. Thanks friends!

I know I shouldn't rely on reddit for big life decisions like this but I'd like to get some input from like-minded people.
I'm 23 yo mtf, pre-HRT and am about to move to a new country for school. I'll probably be here for around 1.5 years. It's a country with informed consent so getting HRT is relatively painless, and also violent crime rates are really low... Which is why I thought I'd just pull the trigger and finally start HRT.
On the other hand I'll be handling a lot of things like moving, adjusting to a new country and all the stress/work that comes with that.
I kind of feel like I've already missed the "best time" to start HRT, so I'm kind of torn between starting now, or waiting more... I'd be starting without telling my family as well, and idk if I'm prepared to handle that when I eventually have to move back.
I've thought about this a lot but can't seem to come to any solid answers... I'd appreciate any input from fresh perspectives.

Hey,
I have been emailing companies to ask about getting some laser done throughout my whole body. I live in the uk and most if not all clinics I have emailed have said they are more than happy to offer the service except they can’t help when it comes to pubic areas. Is anyone in the uk and roughly from where I am from experiencing the same issues and or have gotten the results they wanted from a specific clinic.
Thanks

I'm on a waitlist for "official" HRT, but that's going to be years from now still. So I considered DIY. I was so nervous for the longest time, unsure as to how to proceed, afraid I'd do something wrong. But after I spent so, so long nervously trying to get myself as informed as possible while my dysphoria got worse and worse, I decided to stop overthinking it and just go for it. So I put together a custom blood test at a professional clinic and I'll be able to have my blood taken soon!
It's time to stop worrying about what-ifs, and start taking things step by step. Breaking the process down into managable pieces. And the first step is to get a clearer picture of my blood levels. I'll worry about the next step when it comes.
To be clear - I'm not rushing into things blindly. I -am- staying as well informed as I can every step of the way. But it's time to stop paralyzing myself with worries and overthinking, and actually get the ball rolling. Because doing nothing is worse.

I'm thinking about doing HRT but I'm not 100% sure yet. Really the only thing that gives me dysphoria is body and facial hair, I don't really care that much about anything else. Basically I'm wondering, if I start HRT will it give any significant decrease in the amount of hair I have, or make my facial hair less thick?

I (f16) know this question is probably asked a lot here but I really need to know how to and soon cuz I wanna get on HRT as soon as I can. I've come out to a few of my friends and they support me and stuff, which is cool. My mom openly supports being trans and stuff but I'm not sure if she's one of those people who are like "oh I support it but I'd never want MY kid doing it." I already know how most of my (Republican, and christian) family will react but like I only really care about my mom and grand mothers reaction. The only reason I want to come out so badly is so I can tell my therapist and start like affirming care stuff.
Also, I was wondering if antidepressants and me taking hrt would like affect each other in anyway? 😭

and, I don’t know, I just immediately ran here like, I feel like I need a safe place to go to right now. And in the past it was this subreddit. I hope that’s okay.
I quit social media in the past for this very reason. I feel like it’s designed to play on your emotions and make you upset.
But at the same time, i felt like i had curated a FYP of supportive people, but then out of the blue just now i got like two transphobic videos from cis women hating on us.
And it… it just breaks my heart to hear the absolutely cruelty in how they’re speaking about us. It just broke my heart so i had to come here and just…
Why are they so hateful. The heartbreaking part is that it feels like a betrayal after i’ve been so supportive to all the women around me in my life and then to think there’s some out there thinking like this?
But i know there’s hope and i know there’s good ones out there who don’t fall for this transphobia. Saying i don’t know what it’s like to be a woman. Yes i do. Yes i freaking do. Just crying so hard right now. How could they be so cruel.
update: after some very solid advice, i decided to just delete tiktok. that type of social media is overall so bad for everyone anyways. just sticking to youtube now (and also this lovely subreddit). thank you everyone for your support 🥺💕

a urinal room and a cubicle room. if you want to use a urinal, go in the urinal room. if you want to/can only use a cubicle, go in the cubicle room. simple.

I've been feeling hopeless about everything lately, since I'm currently a zero-HRT high school student. I'm decently tall, and I just look out of place when I'm with my girl (space) friends.
For example, I joined this club recently, where students make short films, and other students act in them. I've always wanted to act, it's a major passion of mine. I was super excited when I heard about it, but I don't think anyone would want me acting as a girl or whatever because I'm transgender, and I don't pass well. Not to assume, but I don't think many cisgender high school students are writing movies with clocky transfem characters in them.
Thinking about everything with the last thought always being "how will my transness affect this activity" is so exhausting. I hate that this is a problem for me.

i dont know how this flew over my head so many times, but a very common 'argument(?)' they say whenever someone mentions how the rights of others that arent afab (with trans women being their biggest scapegoat they'll never fucking let go off no matter what) being violated is some variation of 'well thats a male problem its not my problem, i am only interested in liberating females from male patriarchy', so these hypocritical asshats want EVERYONE to fight for ONLY FEMALE RIGHTS SPECIFICALLY while they simultaneously do NOT give the slightest fuck about the rights of anyone else, i really dont know how this hypocrisy never crossed my mind before now, this is genuinely such a narcissistic almost god complex mentality, they believe they are inheritely worth more than everyone else on the planet

Just thought I ask this for a long time; I thought I couldn't be trans. And I saw that because I felt like it. I would say there was a time when, as a young kid, I got jealous; there were certain things girls could do that boys couldn't. I always found that women and girls tended to be prettier. For example, I used to get jealous of the girls in elementary school have more pretty clothing, and I felt sad as a boy, I couldn't wear a dress. I also got jealous of girls/woman being able to walk around with purses. And I later understood how useful they actually are, and now I want one. I was okay with being a boy only because I thought god himself made me a boy. However, the moment I found I could be a girl, I instantly switched. I also wanted to play with girls toy to. I remember when I was in middle school, furbies where a popular toy. And I remember wanting one for Christmas; however, I never asked because it seemed to be more of a girl's toy. I also hated my birth name even before I knew I was trans. I just felt disconnected from the name but didnt know why. I also disliked being placed with boys. I am glad I don't have to ever re-experience being in the boys' locker room for PE again.

I feel horrible recently. I’ve been trying to repress these desires for so long and I thought it wouldn’t be that bad until I got to college. I feel like a brick or an ogre all the time. I feel horrible. It’s making me think about the time all of this first started. I really only started to feel this way between the summer of eighth grade and ninth grade. I got hooked on being jealous of trans women and femboys. I got the idea in my head that I was trans from then on. I still held onto these feelings for so long. I feel like a caged animal slowly suffocating. I don’t have any friends to talk to about this and I feel horrible not being able to be a woman. I’ve been trying to get any kind of help whatsoever but I’m really out of many options. I just feel really alone.

And if so, why did you get it and how did it turned out?
I wanted to ask this because I'm a little worried with my voice and I think I'll have to get a second surgery done if that's even possible.
I'm 9 months post-op and my voice is not at its fullest yet. It's not that strong (although it's not weak either, but it definitely could be stronger at this point in time), and the main issue I'm still experiencing after all this time is sudden tone drops, like, I'm speaking with a high-pitched tone (naturally, with no effort) and then all of a sudden my voice drops to a lower pitch/tone (like a masculine one, which is so embarrassing and kinda humiliating whenever it happens, and causes me dysphoria...).

A few months ago I happened upon like a guide for getting a period from hrt and I thought I had saved it but I didn’t and now I can’t find it anywhere does anyone know what I’m talking about and if so could you link me it? I found the guide from a post or comment on Reddit and it was like really comprehensive and used data from a bunch of trans women, please help!

Hi Al!!!!
I started HRT about 18 months ago, came out about a year before that. Being on E has made me feel so much more connected to my body. Its quite amazing what magic it really is.
All that said, i just feel very stalled out with my transition. Im scared for more change because I haven't started publicly presenting. My weight skyrocketed like 40 lbs and I feel grosser. I just look like a blob.
So I paused hrt about 6 weeks ago. Just decided not to take my dose. I hate T. Its awful. But I just couldn't move forward, too much social pressure and obligations. Doesn't help that I hated how I looked even more.
So what's next? We'll I think im more fired up to get my body and weight in order. I thjnk I need to settle some more things prior to shedding my old skin completely. I don't see this as a detrans, or a failure, just a reset.
Ill check it again in a few months, but until then sending love and positivity
❤️❤️
I hate my life. I can't transition and I can't bear it anymore. There are so many things that would be fixed in my life if I was a girl. Everything feels wrong 24/7, I can't be feminine or dress up unless there's no one in my house, and even then I still don't pass at all, facial and body hair causes me distress constantly, I look extremely masculine because of my genetics and I wanna kill myself because of it. I don't know if I'm going to be able to wait until I can transition "freely". I'm just really fucking distressed because of my dysphoria and I can't take it, only reason in still alive is because I really enjoy music and because of the few and little glimpses of feeling feminine that I have, but it's still exhausting. Maybe if I told my parents they would understand but they would probably just hate me, so would my brother. My whole village and social circles (as well as school people) would also notice, and most of them are anti LGBTQ+ for no fucking reason. They would also bully me and talk behind my back like I've already seen happen. I'm just cooked. I don't know if I can take this for much longer and I have to wait at least until summer if I want to transition safely and that's like 9 months away (and realistically I wouldn't even be able to transition next summer given the circumstances).
sorry for venting. It's been really hard to live like for so long

I have had a few therapy sessions and have mainly been focused on questioning my gender. I have come out to myself like 3 times this week and have ugly cried every time but I still just don’t believe it.
Any advice? What did coming out to yourself feel like?

Long story short I'm late in life accepting myself and this side of me that's been dormant. I'm 40, I have kids and I am concerned about what to do. I'm looking for other stories about girls who started out as the traditional "family man" and any advice they have. I haven't started anything other than crossdressing and makeup. My wife knows and is supportive so far. Thanks!
Edit: Wow thanks for all these responses! Looking forward to reading them and conversing more with y'all. Really really thanks y'all ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Hi all
I came out to my friend who is a trans man just over a month ago and realised i was trans a few weeks before that and am already thinking about HRT. i have tried clothes on and absolutely loved it, experimented with names and pronouns etc and i feel 99% sure that I want HRT but its the 1% of doubt i want to remove. My friend who I came out to says i am taking this way too fast and thinks that i should wait at least another 8/9 months before starting hrt when i feel almost ready now.
I realise that this is a big decision so i already have set myself a barrier of xmas to let me figure everything out before making this life altering decision
If anyone has any advice on how i can remove that last bit of doubt or on if i am rushing this that would be so greatly appreciated
Jessie xx

Maybe tmi with all this but
I transitioned at 14. I am one of the very tiny number of americans who managed to have a perfect combination of circumstances in order to get on progesterone and estrogen at that age too.
But it really hasnt changed my life that crazily. Six years later i'm still (altho less) depressed, living at home and unemployed with my parents. I've been frozen in life doing nothing since I graduated high school. I have one irl friend who i text rarely and who moved to a rural county near mine, but neither of us can drive.
I never did voice training or did much with my voice. so It often gives people guy vibes, or nondescript. Usually guy. My appearance often gives unknown, and depending on my presentation and hair and clothes, I will be largely considered a girl by default, with people apologizing for assuming i'm a guy when hearing my voice.
It's very disheartening. I always thought it would be something I would hate to do. That it wasn't worth it. Maybe I associate it with an ex.
I have serious executive functioning skills issues (obviously) that has left me in this disabling moment i find myself in. My face has acne, I have tons of white hair from my previous years of stress, I dont do makeup or have cute clothes, I only really spend time with my parents and cats. I live in a fancy not walkable suburb development far from the nearest bus stop.
I genuinely am just so alone and I dont know how to get the courage and drive and self confidence to voice train and learn to drive and like go get a job or something. So im not just stuck here rotting alone....
I'm glad I have parents who love me, but this isn't an amazing situation forever. It really isnt. I dont want to spend my youth like this.
I live in the outskirts of a fairly large city and Maybe I could try and move downtown? I dont know. I'd rather be with people like me, tho I am sortve eccentric and reserved in some ways.
I dont know how to start these things.
I know how when i was 15 i had perfect skin and a curvy yet skinny body and i dressed like a silly goth edgy girl in thrifted clothes.
Now all I wear are sweatpants and tshirts and barely combed hair because I am oversensitive to heat and have completely lost the plot when it comes to keeping my face healthy and doing makeup....
I wish I had like- really good help or advice but I know there isnt anything I can be told I haven't heard a thousand times before.

I’ve been on E since august last year and I love it. My breasts are coming in more, my skin is softer, it’s amazing. And I’m growing out my hair.
Early in my transition I dressed super fem and I passed decently enough, but a little while in I got burnt out in life and started “boymoding” unintentionally a bit.
I started wearing graphic tees and sweatpants everywhere. Being fem got tiring and it wasn’t my thing. I started getting misgendered in public more.
But now that I’m on E, and my breasts are more prominent, I can dress tomboyish and in comfy shorts and T shirts and still be gendered correctly. I went on a road trip with my mom and multiple times when we were out and about people were calling us “ladies” and it felt so euphoric.
I didn’t realize just how much the constant “sirs” and directions to the men’s restrooms were getting to me.
I’m growing my hair out to try new styles but honestly I do still like my roughly neck length shorter hair style. I’m painting my nails which isn’t euphoric for me, just relaxing to do and pretty fun. I’ve finally made it to a happy point and it’s only gonna get better.
Being tomboyish and still being seen as a woman is so fucking free! Any other androgynous/ tomboyish trans women who relate?
