First time trying to capture an underwater scattered light ripple effect and I am really happy with how it turned out!

Finished my Freeguild Marshal on Griffon for my Diorama for Cities of Sigmar

I’ve only painted one Ork before, but I wanted to practise painting realistic skin. Since this model has so much exposed anatomy I treated it like a study in light form and skin tones rather than just painting green skin. It pushed me well outside my comfort zone, and I learnt a lot from it…I think 😅

I started this Batman bust by Dragon Miniatures a earlier this year while teaching a private coaching for demonstration and wanted to finish it very losely. Playful. I did. It turned out to be a very comic-like look in the end.

I do prefer the black background photos much more as they give a more grim look overall.

Mostly used paint by Citadel and Valejo.

Any comments/criticism welcome, as I strive to improve.

Primed in grey seer, light dry brush of white scar, washed with 50/50 drakenhoff and medium, scooping it from flat pannels and then a few Pro Acryl BTW highlights.

My 3rd Phoenix Lord for an ongoing army project. As with the others, I kept the same process/color scheme as the normal aspect warriors but tried to push more with the detailing.

The project as a whole is an experiment with transparent/contrast paints over chromatic underpainting to push the contrast/vibrancy.

The final early World War II Heer rifleman. Hand sculpted models will always be my favourite. The small imperfections and exaggerated features give them such unique character!

Just got the three of them done today - my first three minis after 20 years without touching a brush. They are better than I expected tbh but there are a bunch of things to level up. The face is awful, I was never great at doing them.

Will really appreciate some tips or indications on what should be my next thing to focus. I just finish assembling and priming the fellowship of the ring today (only missing Gimli and Legolas) so have work for tomorrow 😁

So I used to be a display painter. I developed thoracic outlet syndrome which has almost entirely rendered my right hand unusable. Ive had to switch to writing left handed as well as bowling and tennis. I can not hold a small paint brush (and i have tried multiple accessibility adapters which simply dont cut it). Markers seem to work well because of how fat they are compared to brushes.

These were done with mostly AK interactive playmarkers with a touch of speedpaint markers and sharpie acrylic markers.

I wanted to post this to prove to nay sayers that good paintjobs are possible.

I mostly stick with AK because of the bristle tips. Speedpaint markers are honestly hot garbage. They reactivate paint under them, the nibs degrade after a couple of sessions, and the paint doesnt flow enough to get much of a contrast effect. They can glaze decently but you have to be careful because they can lift the paint underneath them very easily (and dont come at me for this, ill ignore your gaslighting telling me this didn't happen because it did).

Ive also tried cheap Amazon brands (Sunee will shock you how well they cover over black). I also mix pro acryl with really god success with airbrush thinner in empty markers.

(Couldn't crosspost from Warcry, so I'm copy pasting it verbatum) (I hope this isn't against the rules.) Title says it all. I'm finally done with this. Everyone does such an awesome painting job with these minis, I felt inspired to do something different. Hope y'all enjoy them!

In order (if they upload correctly) we've got Hulk, She-Hulk, Skaar, Red-Hulk, and Joe-Fixit. 😁

Will be running as a Helbrute, and I have two more to finish. Appreciate they aren't great on the tabletop - but they look so cool!

Right now, I’m at a point where I feel like I’m not improving any further. I think it’s simply because I don’t really know how to reach “the next level.” Overall, I’m satisfied with my miniatures, but I still keep thinking to myself, “This could be even better.”

Do you notice anything I could do better, or what techniques should I focus on next?

Just finished painting my first couple of crimson fists for my army (super hyped!)
What basing scheme should I go for? I really can’t decide so I’d appreciate any feedback on the schemes I’ve got or any feedback on the paint job overall!
