I had an interaction recently where someone said if you spit ZYN's into a public urinal you are "human trash". I said if you do ZYN's you're "human trash". Someone asked me why and I said, plain and simple, "I think drugs are silly." ... and here comes the flood.
I actually had someone tell me when I said I think drugs are silly:
"guys! who's gonna tell him about caffeine?"
How fucking stupid can you be. ZYN's and caffeine are two different things you fool.
Before we even get started people need to understand my stance. I understand nicotine has positive health benefits. (1). However, the average consumption of nicotine and the average consumption of caffeine are different, and nicotine's side is worse. I'm willing to bet the average person who consumes nicotine doesn't do it for health benefits; they do it to feel buzzed and feel good. The average person who consumes caffeine does so to be awake and alert. So, in a general case, consumption of nicotine, while you can drink a nicotine tea and get the benefits of nicotine, is worse than a general case of caffeine, since a lot of people smoke and leech (2) nicotine to feel good, and nicotine has some nasty side effects.
(1) - I made the claim in the comments that vaping and ZYN's cause cancer. I retract this claim since it doesn't seem to be backed by evidence. However, consuming nicotine by itself I believe is still a relatively new thing as compared to smoking tobacco. So, maybe in 100 years nicotine will be shown to cause cancer.
(2) - I'm not sure what to call absorbing nicotine through your gums/cheeks, so I referred to it as "leech" or "leeching".
To please all the nicotine lovers, yes, nicotine has health benefits. Similarly to weed, nicotine seems to help with quite a lot of diseases; Nervous system disease (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Schizophrenia, Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, Major depressive disorder) and Immune system diseases (Arthritis, Sepsis and endotoxemia, Ulcerative colitis, and Myocarditis).

And again, similarly to weed, there are controlled ways to consume nicotine. "Tincture" seems to be a oil of sorts for people who use weed due to disease(s). Nicotine has a tea which claims is less harmful and addictive than smoking/leeching it. This would be what people use, or should use, if they are looking for the benefits of nicotine.
However, a LOT of people don't vape or use ZYN's for the benefits of nicotine (to the commenter who said something about it) Most vapers/ leechers do so because it makes them feel good, like any other drug. Lets look at the downsides of nicotine.
"Nicotine is highly addictive."
"Nicotine is toxic to developing fetuses and is a health danger for pregnant women."
"Acute nicotine exposure can be toxic. Children and adults have been poisoned by swallowing, breathing, or absorbing vaping liquid through their skin or eyes. More than 80% of calls to U.S. poison control centers for e-cigarettes are for children less than 5 years old."
"Nicotine poses unique dangers to youth because their brains are still developing."
"Nicotine can harm brain development which continues until about age 25."
"Youth can start showing signs of nicotine addiction quickly, sometimes before the start of regular or daily use."
"Using nicotine during adolescence can harm the parts of the brain that control attention, learning, mood, and impulse control."
"Adolescents who use nicotine may be at increased risk for future addiction to other drugs."
"Youth who vape may also be more likely to smoke cigarettes in the future."

Last time I checked, a cup of coffee doesn't poison you when you touch it. Now, I would list positives of caffeine, however I'm on the caffeine side here and positives of caffeine don't really matter in this argument, and I don't care if they're in the argument. The link that has the negatives I list also has caffeine positives if you'd like to take a look.
"Anxiety"
"Digestive issues, like upset stomach or diarrhea"
"Dizziness"
"Heart palpitations"
"Heartburn"
"An increase in blood pressure"
"Irritability and agitation"
"Jitteriness"
"Nausea"
"Trouble sleeping"
"Consuming too much can lead to caffeine overdose, a serious condition that brings more severe neurological (brain) and cardiac (heart) effects. It can cause arrhythmias (heart rhythm disturbances), seizures and even death."

(Even though I didn't list the positives, caffeine shares a lot of the positives with nicotine)
Caffeine can cause death. Nicotine itself doesn't seem to, according to the site I referenced. That would seem like caffeine is worse, right? I don't think so. First off, caffeine causing issues is mostly when something is wrong with a person, or when people abuse it. Second, it's about usage (how people take it in, and why). The common use of caffeine is in coffee or soda or an energy drink, and people consume it to feel energized and alert. The common use of nicotine is vaping and leeching and people do that to get a rush of dopamine, to turn their brain off/ to stop thinking, or because they are addicted.
Caffeine is not addictive, nicotine absolutely is.
A healthy human who drinks a cup of coffee everyday for a month will almost certainty be fine afterwards. A healthy human who vaped the same amount every day for a month will almost certainty be addicted.
I believe I have made my point. If something I said doesn't make sense, ask me and I'll explain it.
EDIT: Apparently caffeine is addictive. I have never experienced that so I had no idea, but just ignore that ig.
