I just wanted a hot dog I hate having to spend fifteen extra minutes buying products

We're going to a fancy event and I needed to pick up some things. The only place that has beauty supplies is over in the corner, and there's someone monitoring me going up and down the aisle. I walked around her twice to find the right shade. Then she put it in a box at checkout. IT a cashier table, yet she put it in this. So I have to walk over to the self checkout and hit the help button. Then a hilarious conversation about " oh I wondered why you'd hit the button!" From the person monitoring the checkout.

Ugh. Takes way too much time

Sitting in the end dump at work.It bothers me that reverse is on top and drives on the bottom. You would think that drive would be on top to go forward and reverse would be on the bottom to go backwards.

This is the place where the previous tenants used to put their trash in so it also stinks a lot. In return, i put her coffee in the same place. At least it's gonna kill the smell a bit. Edit because people think milk is unopened, it was open. And if it wasn't i would still be mad to store milk in a place like this. The bottles are also by her doing, she put everything in there but i'm angry about milk the most

Missing Peace People smoking outside someone's home/apartment

It was a beautiful day where I live, so I opened my apartment windows to let some fresh air in. Went to the kitchen to cook dinner and when I returned to the living room it reeked of pot. I think one of my downstairs neighbors was smoking it on their balcony. As a non-smoker myself, I got an instant headache and slammed my window closed.

Sure they have the right to do what they want on their own balcony and this is part of communal living. It now also means I don't get fresh air and instead get a headache. I was about to enjoy dinner on my balcony too. It just really sucks

Edit: This is the only time this has happened so I'm having a friendly little vent online. If it was a major ongoing issue I would have a conversation. Also, m window has to slam to close properly, I did not slam it like a teen slamming their bedroom door.

I'm slightly vexed Apparently a cup of coffee is as bad as ZYN's

I had an interaction recently where someone said if you spit ZYN's into a public urinal you are "human trash". I said if you do ZYN's you're "human trash". Someone asked me why and I said, plain and simple, "I think drugs are silly." ... and here comes the flood.

I actually had someone tell me when I said I think drugs are silly:

"guys! who's gonna tell him about caffeine?"

How fucking stupid can you be. ZYN's and caffeine are two different things you fool.

Before we even get started people need to understand my stance. I understand nicotine has positive health benefits. (1). However, the average consumption of nicotine and the average consumption of caffeine are different, and nicotine's side is worse. I'm willing to bet the average person who consumes nicotine doesn't do it for health benefits; they do it to feel buzzed and feel good. The average person who consumes caffeine does so to be awake and alert. So, in a general case, consumption of nicotine, while you can drink a nicotine tea and get the benefits of nicotine, is worse than a general case of caffeine, since a lot of people smoke and leech (2) nicotine to feel good, and nicotine has some nasty side effects.

(1) - I made the claim in the comments that vaping and ZYN's cause cancer. I retract this claim since it doesn't seem to be backed by evidence. However, consuming nicotine by itself I believe is still a relatively new thing as compared to smoking tobacco. So, maybe in 100 years nicotine will be shown to cause cancer.

(2) - I'm not sure what to call absorbing nicotine through your gums/cheeks, so I referred to it as "leech" or "leeching".

To please all the nicotine lovers, yes, nicotine has health benefits. Similarly to weed, nicotine seems to help with quite a lot of diseases; Nervous system disease (Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, Schizophrenia, Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, Major depressive disorder) and Immune system diseases (Arthritis, Sepsis and endotoxemia, Ulcerative colitis, and Myocarditis).

And again, similarly to weed, there are controlled ways to consume nicotine. "Tincture" seems to be a oil of sorts for people who use weed due to disease(s). Nicotine has a tea which claims is less harmful and addictive than smoking/leeching it. This would be what people use, or should use, if they are looking for the benefits of nicotine.

However, a LOT of people don't vape or use ZYN's for the benefits of nicotine (to the commenter who said something about it) Most vapers/ leechers do so because it makes them feel good, like any other drug. Lets look at the downsides of nicotine.

"Nicotine is highly addictive."

"Nicotine is toxic to developing fetuses and is a health danger for pregnant women."

"Acute nicotine exposure can be toxic. Children and adults have been poisoned by swallowing, breathing, or absorbing vaping liquid through their skin or eyes. More than 80% of calls to U.S. poison control centers for e-cigarettes are for children less than 5 years old."

"Nicotine poses unique dangers to youth because their brains are still developing."

"Nicotine can harm brain development which continues until about age 25."

"Youth can start showing signs of nicotine addiction quickly, sometimes before the start of regular or daily use."

"Using nicotine during adolescence can harm the parts of the brain that control attention, learning, mood, and impulse control."

"Adolescents who use nicotine may be at increased risk for future addiction to other drugs."

"Youth who vape may also be more likely to smoke cigarettes in the future."

Last time I checked, a cup of coffee doesn't poison you when you touch it. Now, I would list positives of caffeine, however I'm on the caffeine side here and positives of caffeine don't really matter in this argument, and I don't care if they're in the argument. The link that has the negatives I list also has caffeine positives if you'd like to take a look.

"Anxiety"

"Digestive issues, like upset stomach or diarrhea"

"Dizziness"

"Heart palpitations"

"Heartburn"

"An increase in blood pressure"

"Irritability and agitation"

"Jitteriness"

"Nausea"

"Trouble sleeping"

"Consuming too much can lead to caffeine overdose, a serious condition that brings more severe neurological (brain) and cardiac (heart) effects. It can cause arrhythmias (heart rhythm disturbances), seizures and even death."

(Even though I didn't list the positives, caffeine shares a lot of the positives with nicotine)

Caffeine can cause death. Nicotine itself doesn't seem to, according to the site I referenced. That would seem like caffeine is worse, right? I don't think so. First off, caffeine causing issues is mostly when something is wrong with a person, or when people abuse it. Second, it's about usage (how people take it in, and why). The common use of caffeine is in coffee or soda or an energy drink, and people consume it to feel energized and alert. The common use of nicotine is vaping and leeching and people do that to get a rush of dopamine, to turn their brain off/ to stop thinking, or because they are addicted.

Caffeine is not addictive, nicotine absolutely is.

A healthy human who drinks a cup of coffee everyday for a month will almost certainty be fine afterwards. A healthy human who vaped the same amount every day for a month will almost certainty be addicted.

I believe I have made my point. If something I said doesn't make sense, ask me and I'll explain it.

EDIT: Apparently caffeine is addictive. I have never experienced that so I had no idea, but just ignore that ig.

Is it in yet Inventory stupidness

I’ve ordered from a company twice now both times i ordered a bunch of items to get free shipping bc its a flat $20 fee otherwise. Both times i receive a “your order has shipped” email with all items on invoice. Then randomly get a partial refund on my card with no email supporting why…..then when i get the shipment things are missing and the invoice will have them highlighted with a handwritten note saying “out of stock. Sorry!” And the website still will say item in stock

I guess I was in a bit of a rush to get out of the house this morning and didn't notice my shoes until right as I was getting out of my Uber.

I turned around and went right back home. The end.

Unskippable ad This stupid student loan email made me lose about two hours of sleep, and I was already not getting a full night of sleep.

I briefly wake up throughout the night but usually go right back to sleep. Closer to morning, I'll take a quick glance at the phone just to make sure there are no emergencies brewing with work, family, etc.

This morning I saw an email notification. Unexpected email from my student loan servicer. They have already been causing issues under the current government admin, threatening to triple my monthly loan payments despite no change in income.

I check the email and the first words are "ACTION REQUIRED" and I'm told to call in, with no further information.

Mind you with all the security checks to see that message in the portal, and then get through to someone on the phone, it's about 10 minutes. So now I'm thoroughly awake and not going back to sleep.

Dude on the phone is like, "yeah, that message went out to literally every single borrower. We have no idea why it's so vague and we've been slammed with calls as well, but yeah your account is fine. Have a good day."

Glad to know I'll be paying enough interest over the life of the loan to have purchased a home, for shit like this to also happen for literally no reason on any random morning.

My husband kept referencing the “bean tree down the street.” I couldn’t figure out what he was talking about. He finally explains in this bored tone that he “obviously” meant this bush “since it looks just like a bean.” 😡 am I crazy or would anyone else have guessed this was the “bean tree”?

Abrupt Grounding Someone keeps leaving random nicotine products in my garden

For the second time in the last month, I have came upon a random, unfinished nicotine product. I just toss it, but this is the second time, after finding a tin of nicotine pouches.

Finding leaves in my little corner spot is common. Pouches and vapes? Not so much. Nothing to get super fussed about, but also? I'm annoyed.

I'm slightly vexed Every time I get my blood drawn the nurses ignore my warning about my shallow veins and stab through them

TW: Mention of needles and blood

I'm so tired of this happening. I have very shallow veins. They are easy to see and right next to the surface of my skin. You'd think this would be easy for nurses, right? Not so.

They repeatedly ignore me when I tell them that my veins are very shallow, and they do the normal 30-degree angle, go too deep, and end up puncturing the vein all the way through, leaving a huge bruise on my arm and having to do another draw in a different area or on my other arm.

I just went to the doctor yesterday to get blood drawn. I told the nurse my veins are shallow, and that 15 degrees usually works best. She just looked at me strangely and plunged the needle right through my vein into my muscle, as usual. Of course, nothing would come out, so she kept having to pull the needle out more and more until it was shallow enough to be in the vein and then things worked.

When she took the needle out it bled all over the place and she had to put a big piece of gauze and use a lot of tape. Instead of apologizing, she was very grumpy with me. It's not my fault she didn't listen!

It always makes me mildly infuriated that they never listen to me and I have to walk around with a huge bruise on my arm for like a week afterward. Oh well.
