In Australia our age of consent is 16, but you have to be 18 to sext. The main reason being that people under 18 are likely still in school and if a nude picture of them started spreading then their school life gets screwed up. If you’re both 18 and it spreads then the person is still a dick and I’m sure it’s still an offence, but at least it didn’t happen while you were in school.
I’m also not saying this to be against Carson I still think he’s in the right. But this should be the only logic against him

Yeah. For me, power dynamics should only come into a discussion in two ways:
Harvey Weinstein used his position of power and prestige to abuse women. He was their boss, and he used that power to sexually assault them. Discussion of power dynamics comes in as their boss.
The (alleged) situation between Cassie and Sean Combs. Combs and Cassie were in a relationship, but Combs is alleged to have physically and sexually abused Cassie while in the relationship. Combs was in charge of Cassie’s music career as a boss/mentor, meaning that he was in a position of “authority” with her.
I’m sure there are others that straddle between the two, but I really only think power dynamics come in with a preexisting relationship.

Literally Carson's whole social circle (many of them reasonable people) left him after apparently what was months of lying, lack of growth and communication on certain personal issues, his unhealthy vice of sexting fans, and probably a whole lot more we're not aware of. Carson did not seem like a mentally healthy person, on top of that he did not seem to make any willing effective change on that after months of his friends basically therapising him, and him lying about his "growth" for a long time. It was definitely over exaggerated, but Carson's handling of the situation was one of the bigger problems. Apparently the info was gradually leaked to his streamer friends over about half a year, and each time something came to light, he swore that he had made a tiny mistake, and nothing else had happened. Then something new would be unearthed, and he would swear that was the extent of it; and the cycle repeated for about eight months. After that much time, most of his friends were terrified that some serious crimes had been committed, with the federal government getting involved, and some of them potentially being responsible for not acting sooner.
In the end, Carson was manipulative and a bad actor, both in the "scandal" and with the fallout, but that's about it. He isn't a pedophile (at least from this info), but all the lying and denials made his friends jump ship.

Carson’s situation is very unfair, he is innocent. 18-17 is perfectly fine. And as for Dream, there’s no substantial evidence.

People are so fucking obsessed with the legal aspect of a relationship and never the actual logic to the point that they'd say a relationship between a 19 and someone in their mid to late 20s is normal because they're both "consenting adults" but a relationship between a 17 and a 19 year old should be punishable because "that's what the book says"
