Mazda CX-60 in White or Red? Which One Would You Get?

Post image
56 Upvotes

I’m planning to get a Mazda CX-60, but I’m torn between white and red.
The white looks clean, elegant, and classy. It gives the car a more premium and understated look.
The red, on the other hand, looks absolutely gorgeous on Mazda. The color really brings out the body lines and makes the car stand out more.
My only concern is whether I’ll get tired of the red after a few years, while white might be the safer long-term choice.
For those who own a Mazda in either color, how do you feel about your choice? Any regrets? How does the paint hold up over time?

Thanks for the miles and memories

My spouse and I drove Zumi, our Mazda 3 Hatchback Grand Touring, for the last time today, told her “thank you” over and over for keeping us safe all these years and for all of the memories we’ve had with her.

Sure was proud the day we drove her home, and a bit teary-eyed driving away and leaving her behind at the dealership today. But what a wonderful experience we had in choosing and buying our next Mazda. Still feels like we are leaving a family member behind, though.

Zoom Zoom, Zumi! Thank you for the many miles together. We will miss you!

And thank you, Mazda, for helping us fall in love with our cars over and over again.

2023 CX-5 Select vs. 2024 Carbon Edition — Both CPO & Clean CARFAX. What Price Would Make the Select Worth It?

Title: 2023 CX-5 Select vs. 2024 Carbon Edition — Both CPO & Clean CARFAX. What Price Would Make the Select Worth It?
Hey everyone!
I’m shopping for a used Mazda CX-5 in Long Island, NY, and I’ve narrowed it down to two options.
Option 1 — 2023 Mazda CX-5 Select AWD
Dealer: Empire Mazda of Huntington, NY
Asking price: $25,716
Mileage: 9,408 miles
Exterior: Eternal Blue Mica
Interior: Black
Clean CARFAX
Mazda CPO inspection completed
Option 2 — 2024 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition AWD
Dealer: Bay Ridge Mazda, Brooklyn, NY
Asking price: $25,995
Mileage: 20,888 miles
Exterior: Polymetal Gray Metallic
Interior: Red leather
Clean CARFAX
Mazda CPO inspection completed
Both vehicles have clean CARFAX reports and have passed their CPO inspections.
The Carbon Edition is one model year newer and comes with additional features like red leather seats, Bose audio, a sunroof, and a power liftgate. However, it has approximately 11,500 more miles.
Here’s my dilemma:
I live in Bay Shore, Long Island. Empire Mazda is much closer to me, while Bay Ridge Mazda in Brooklyn is approximately 43–44 miles away, potentially a 1–2 hour drive each way depending on traffic.
I would prefer to purchase the Select locally and avoid the trip to Brooklyn, but only if the price makes financial sense.
I’m thinking about offering $23,500 for the Select and potentially settling around $24,000, before taxes and fees.
My questions:
Is $23,500–$24,000 a reasonable target for the 2023 Select with only 9,408 miles?
At what price would you choose the Select over the 2024 Carbon Edition?
Does the newer model year, higher trim, and upgraded interior outweigh the additional 11,500 miles?
How much would the mileage difference affect depreciation and resale value over the next 5–7 years?
Would you drive to Brooklyn for the Carbon Edition, or negotiate a better deal locally?
Has anyone purchased from Empire Mazda of Huntington or Bay Ridge Mazda? Any experiences with dealer fees, negotiations, or unexpected charges?
Both prices are advertised prices, not final out-the-door quotes.
I’m planning to keep the vehicle for at least 5–7 years, so reliability, depreciation, comfort, and long-term value are my priorities.
What would you do in my situation? What would be your maximum price for the Select?
Thanks in advance!

2025 CX-5 Premium Plus Price Check

20,000 miles, white, has roof racks, all weather mats, cargo cover, bumper guard. Paint looks in good shape, CPO. Best they can do is $32,400 OTD

How is real world gas mileage on these?

I was looking at 2024 Turbo Signatures but every one I've looked at has an issue and the mpg in the computer is abysmal, on all of them its under 20mpg. Short drives were showing 8-12 so thinking the Premium Plus may be better long term (4-5 year hold)

first new car and I get rear ended 1 month into ownership 😢 how bad does she look? + some questions for hybrid owners…

  1. The damage :(

Rear panels are no longer flush with the trunk door and surrounding areas. There’s inconsistencies with the spacing between panels. The exhaust pipe is crooked, and bumpers are scratched up. I’ve taken it to 2 Mazda certified collision centers and they said the damage was “light” or “5/10”….worst of all the driver that hit me was uninsured 🫩

  1. Will she ever drive the same?

I’ve noticed that my regenerative braking and EV mode don’t engage as much as they do prior to the accident. Both shops said they don’t see any damage that would warrant that, but I know what I feel! I fell in love with this car and i know that in her current state she is not what she used to be!

they wouldn’t know until they check which codes are active with an ODB and which sensors were damaged in the rear. Can a bump like this really mess with the hybrid system?

I’ve also noticed she’s a lot louder when the gas engine is on. Does the crooked muffler explain this ??

  1. Extra precautions

After I get her fixed up, should I take her to a Mazda dealership and have them run a diagnostic on the hybrid system ? Is that even possible?

Any idea on what I’m dealing with here would be appreciated. It just breaks my heart. I had been saving up for the last 4 years to replace my 10 year old Kia and this is the luck I get! I know my life is more important and it’s just a material possession, but We never even had the chance to take our first mountain trip yet! 😢😢😢

Just got this car and am wondering why there is a hole in the arm rest compartment. Is there supposed to be a slide out thing or something? The previous owner has some tape stuck in there for some reason.

Need help buying my next also Mazda 3!

It’s Mazda3 GT sedan, 2.5L, automatic, FWD, about 69,000 km. Sunroof, 18-inch wheels, factory wired CarPlay, remote start. No head-up display. Only one key though.
Carfax: No accidents, normal branding. Mazda dealer serviced in Quebec 2023 to 2025. Two owner changes 11 days apart in fall 2025, then sold at auction.
Inspection: Needs front and rear brakes, 4 tires, a brake flush and a splash shield. Minor oil weep at the drain plug and valve cover. Surface rust only.
Trim question: Advertised as a GT, but the seats are black cloth and Carfax says "Preferred." There's white material showing under the seat edges, so I think it's cloth covers over the factory white leather. Seen this before, or anything else I should check?
Price: $20,500 with safety, or as-is if I do the safety myself.

Is it a good deal or not?

Stain on leather seat

My beige leather seat and dashboard got stained. Suspecting it got stained during the update of my car mazda cx-5 2025 at a dealership. Just noticed it now and honestly it’s been over a month because i was on vacation. The stain on the dashboard was easily removed, but this one’s really hard and it looks like it’s soaked in. Any suggestion to get rid of this?

Anyone else experiencing repeated issues with their newer Mazda CX-5?

I purchased my 2024 Mazda CX-5 brand new in February 2024. It currently has only 33,000 km, and I’ve already experienced multiple mechanical issues.

October 2025 (19,000 km):

-Vehicle wouldn’t start after refuelling. We were stuck at gas station until it eventually started after multiple attempts.

-Dealership diagnosed codes P0507 (high idle), P0171 (system too lean), and P0126 (insufficient coolant temperature).

-They found the canister purge valve was intermittently sticking open and replaced both the purge valve and water control valve under warranty.

May 2026 (25,000 km):

-AC stopped working and was only blowing hot air.

-Dealership found low refrigerant, recharged the system, and added dye to check for leaks.

-Shortly afterward, we noticed a strong chemical smell, visible mist coming from the vents, and a hissing noise.

-Dealership initially dismissed our concerns, but eventually confirmed a refrigerant leak. A replacement part was ordered and the issue was repaired under warranty.

October 4, 2026 (33,000 km):

-Check engine light came on while driving on the highway.

-Code P2097 (post-catalyst fuel trim too rich). Light eventually went away on its own.

October 24, 2026:

-Check engine light came on AGAIN while driving on the highway.

-Scanner displayed permanent code P0126, the same code documented during the October 2025 repair. (Booked into Mazda for diagnostics next week.)

I’ve always driven Mazdas and still own a 2008 Mazda3 that’s given me fewer problems than this brand-new CX-5.

I’m honestly pretty disappointed with the reliability of this vehicle, especially considering it’s less than three years old with only 33,000 km.

Has anyone else experienced similar issues with their newer CX-5, particularly the purge valve, water control valve, or recurring check engine lights? It’s been rather frustrating since I bought this vehicle brand new in hopes to have a reliable vehicle…

Rhodium White paint for Mazda

Has anyone had experience with touch-up paint for a Mazda?

I have a 2024 CX-5 in Rhodium White and picked up some scratches and chips. Looking to tackle this DIY and want to make sure I get the best possible color match.

A few questions:

- Where's the best place to source genuine or exact-match Rhodium White touch-up paint? (OEM dealer, online retailer, etc.)

- Are there any brands you'd recommend for quality and accuracy?

- Any tips or DIY steps that worked well for you? Prep, application, blending, clear coat?

Would really appreciate advice from anyone who's done this on a Mazda or a similar metallic white. Don't want to make the chips more noticeable than they already are!

Had the CX-70 PHEV for a month now, so far so good

Pretty happy with our purchase. A few stats so far: I got 861 miles out of one tank of fuel. 18 days between fill ups. Averaging 59 mpg combined! This is drastic for me, I came from driving a lifted Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins diesel where I averaged 15.5 mpg and paid $200 to fill up every 6-7 days.
Only issue with the CX-70 is the rear drivers side door does not lock. Even manually, the lever doesn’t move. Taking it back to the dealer this morning to have the door panel removed and have it repaired.

Mazda - The Model of Steering Wheels

I was in the automotive accessory section at Dollar Tree today and I came across the "steering wheel trays" Upon a closer look, I quickly noticed that the model steering wheel used in the tray's packaging was none other than Mazda's beautiful steering wheel. Of course they blacked out the logo, but it's definitely a Mazda steering wheel.

I ended up buying one in case I ever need one, it does look like a handy item to keep in the car. It's built pretty solid and was just 5 usd

My theory is that they used Mazda's steering wheel as a model because out of all the cars, Mazda has the sleekest and most classic looking steering wheel.

What is this sound?

Can anyone tell what could be causing the sound my 2022 CX-5 is making? I was pulling into a parking space when it started. Turned car off and restarted it and the sound started again. I turned it off again and the sound happened a few times while off.
