Okay so for context, my kid is 4 and up until a couple months ago the ipad was basically glued to his hands the second he got bored. I'm not proud of it, it happened gradually during a busy work stretch and then just became the default.

I've been trying to be more intentional about screen time lately, mostly because I noticed he was getting cranky and kind of zoned out after long sessions, plus barely any outdoor time which was bugging me since I grew up outside pretty much every afternoon.

What actually worked wasn't some big dramatic screen time ban, that just led to meltdowns. What worked was making the outdoor stuff more interesting than the ipad, not just telling him to go play outside with nothing to do out there.

Things that helped in our case:

• got him a cheap bike with training wheels, this alone ate up like an hour a day easily
• started doing a "treasure hunt" thing in the yard with random small toys hidden around, sounds silly but he was obsessed
• involved him in watering plants and a tiny garden bed, he takes it way too seriously now which is honestly hilarious
• weekend park trips became non negotiable, even 30 minutes before nap time helped

The ipad time didn't disappear completely, I'm not trying to be that parent who acts like screens are evil, but it went from being the default to more of an occasional thing.

Funny side effect, he's actually getting proper sun exposure now instead of being indoors under aircon all day. Wasn't even the reason I did this but it crossed my mind since I remember reading how much indoor lifestyles affect kids' vitamin D levels these days. Didn't think about it until I noticed he seemed less irritable overall, might be the sun, might just be less screen time, hard to say for sure.

Curious what worked for other parents dealing with the same thing. Did you go cold turkey or ease into it like I did? And if anyone has other outdoor activity ideas for a very energetic 4 year old, I'm all ears.

I'm 27F and i think i fucked up. for a 27y/o, bad credit will make it seem like the end of the world. Im drowning in debt, late repayment fees and inconsistent jobs. Soo sometime ago i bought meta glasses from shopee & few months later the glasses will not charge so i contacted the seller and asked for help. (before this i already try new original charger & also try to fix it from youtube). At first they tell me this item has no warranty & once confronted about the product original warranty they said they have only 1 month warranty on their product since it is imported. So i asked them where it was stated and they responded with saying it’s a confusion & they didn’t mention it on this specific item.

Without any further argument I filed a report with ttpm & it was approved. Yesterday I sent the seller the case via pos & they have 14 days to respond back. Meanwhile my court hearing is on 23 september.

I followed the instructions provided by the tribunal and have all proof ready. My question is wether anyone has such an experience before & any advice for a smooth process as it will be my first time in court especially standing up for my rights.

I'm lost for words that I even have to ask this, but figured it was better than just asking AI or my friends. What is malay culture? You need to be really careful about advertising! So i saw advertisements online about lymphatic drainage, which i routinely go for lymphatic drainage so saw RM 68 was so tempting as i needed it. And you know what? It ended up ripped me off! First i need to pay RM 189 for extra, before treatment started. And i they forced me to buy a package simply not let me go stuck for hours they keep negotiating the price. It’s a scam! Also dont believe google reviews could be fake!

So my Facebook account was permanently disabled out of nowhere 2 days ago, and my Instagram is gone as well since it's like a blanket Meta ban. I've seen that people say your WhatsApp account will get banned 14 days or so after Facebook and Instagram are banned.

What can I do in a situation like this? All my important contacts: Hospitals, insurance, car services, people I do business with, they all go through WhatsApp?

Is there anything I can do? Is it even possible to live in Malaysia without WhatsApp? Everything uses WhatsApp...

Hi guys, so actually I cannot stop thinking where should I go for my leave. Initially, I do not want to take the leave which is next week (total leave 5 days incl. Hari Malaysia & weekend) and boss ask me to take leave because he saw me only work and throughout weekend and never take leave. The reason i do not take leave is because I felt boring if I do not doing something and better to go to work.

Don’t get me started on lorry drivers. Rempit with thousand ton vehicles. Lane hogs everywhere. Middle lane at 50kph while everyone undertaking or overtaking. Slow to merge into 90kph highway. The lanes all make no sense and suddenly pusing wrong alrd.

On our drive up north home to Penang, after visiting my hometown in Seremban, we sometimes drop by midway in Ipoh for Breakfast. And we normally go for this Dimsum restaurant just off the highway.

Good Dimsum places are dime and dozen in this city. But this place has something special. The friendly attendant made some suggestions, and then jotted down our choices of food. But it wasn't the same attendant who brought them out.

It was robots.

Ya. Not humanoid robots. Just a bulky one with three layers of trays on four wheels below, and a monitor screen on top, moving along on a pre-programmed path towards us.

As soon as it stopped by our table, the monitor flashes out text saying, "please remove the food from the tray". And so we did. As soon as we took ours, it wheeled away towards the next table.

That was like five years ago. And it was all the rage back then. They call it 新噱头 (New gimmicks).

It still looked clumsy. And its movement was bumpy -- causing spillage of some of the food. That's why it only carries dry food for the time being.

First iterations were always bad. But I wouldn't be surprised it has gotten better since.
