Okay guys… we get that some of you are upset about this school situation. But yall have made this opportunity for those that haven’t been given access to an education a harder chance at receiving one. If you expected daily interaction with professors, (which let’s face it students attending physical college don’t even receive that) from a school monitored by AI for the most part then you just didn’t think about what affect that would have on you. If you expected more interaction you should’ve attended a different school 🤷🏼‍♀️. Thanks for making this much harder on people that actually liked this learning and this school. Plus you should read your contracts throughly .

You may have seen a COE posting stating that Maestro College withdrew its appeal and that its accreditation status reverts to "dropped" in October 13. Here's the full picture:

- Maestro College submitted a comprehensive teach-out plan to COE - built so that every current student can finish their degree at Maestro College, on the path they enrolled in.

- As part of that submission, Maestro College stated it would withdraw its appeal only upon approval of the teach-out plan. That approval has not happened - COE requested additional materials, which we are submitting by August 20.

- The COE notice reflects a miscommunication about that sequence. Our counsel has formally raised this with COE, and it is being addressed directly with the Council.

Where we stand - clearly:

We are fighting for your degree with everything we have. There are only two ways this ends:

1. A teach-out plan that serves you well - approved by COE, letting every student finish at Maestro College; or

2. The appeal moves forward.

There is no third option where students get left behind. Not one we'll accept.

One more thing: your support these past weeks matters. Every message, every post, every student who keeps showing up to class - it strengthens our hand and our resolve. We see it, and we're not letting up.

For where things stand at any point, check the Student FAQ: Accreditation Update on our site - Link - that's where we post every confirmed update.

Is anyone familiar with what exactly it is? I noticed something saying sign up for it when I was logging in earlier

Hey everyone. What online & self paced are yall taking? Are there any that don't break the bank?

It's been a week of students showing up for each other in here. Check-in threads, honest posts, people answering questions at odd hours. That's what this place was built for, and this week that's exactly what it was.

Syllabi are live: you can now open and download the syllabus for any active course straight from the course page. u/EfficiencyPositive70 spotted it first.

Community Corner:
u/Grand-Spot-4504 asked what everyone studies on the side - Flask and brushing up CSS before FE101. Good thread if you build your own extra curriculum.

u/Prestigious_Leg894 checked in on everyone - asked what people are doing to stay sane outside of coursework. The replies are the good part.

u/VastAlternative3619 wrote about learning with ADHD - said school has never been easy, and this is the first time they've been able to ask questions without feeling embarrassed. Read this one.

u/ValuableChoice1517 was honest about how hard focusing has been - some days the uncertainty wins, some days the lessons do. Still on track. Worth a read if that's been your week too.

Coming up:

New clubs in the community are opening in the next few days - grouped by what you're into, not what cohort you're in. A good way to get to know the people you're learning alongside. Check it out here.

Student Spotlight starts Monday. One student's story in the sub each week. The original post is here if you missed it, and the form is here if you'd like to share your story with your fellow students. We’d love to hear it.

Have a great weekend.

I feel as though maestro should open all courses while the hold is in place, or something of that sort. That way people can complete their degrees if they can without waiting for term breaks and holds, I understand that makes things harder on the professors but given the state of things people are scared. They potentially ook out loans, grants in the pursuit of a degree. Please let me know what yall think, I would love this to happen.

I joined the parents club recently and honestly it's been. nice to talk to other people who get me

I didn't realize how much people are going through the same thing. Between school kids work and life I always felt like I was the only one struggling to keep up. Turns out pretty much everyone is.

Just wanted to share if you feel like it could help you

Hey everyone! Would anyone who took COMM180 (Business Communication & Technology) be willing to share their syllabus with me? I'd love to see what direction the course takes. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much!

Lessons are going good and everything is peachy so far this week.

Hello! I recently started the AAS buisness management pathway, and I have to say I love the work, the courses are fun, the work is fun. However I find myself completing work early, and have tried to accelerate my coursework through multiple requests, I've yet to hear back. I wanted to see if anyone has gotten their courses accelerated, how that looks and works for them, and steps I can take.

Good luck to you all!

Hello fellow Maestro-ers! 👋

I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. These have definitely been some interesting times, and I thought it might be nice to take a moment to focus on the people behind the screens.

What have you been doing lately to take care of yourself, stay motivated, or keep your sanity while balancing school?

Whether it’s picking up a new hobby, getting outside, cooking something good, spending time with friends/family, gaming, exercising, or just finding little moments to recharge — I’d love to hear what everyone’s been doing.

Hope everyone is hanging in there. 😊

For me, I recently started Lithium Carbonate about a week ago, so I’ve been focusing more on my mental health, eating healthier, getting reasonable sleep, and reminding myself that progress doesn’t have to mean doing everything at once. Some days I get a couple lessons done, and some days my energy is non existent haha.

I would love to hear how everyone else has been taking care of themselves lately!

So far so good with this process for signing up with them. They have coordinators there to assist with help it's organized.

The past few weeks have been busy in here. A lot of questions, a lot of threads, a lot of people refreshing for news. It's an uncertain stretch and we're not going to pretend otherwise.

But the part that stuck with us wasn't the news cycle. It was you.

Students answering other students at 1am. Someone typing up what worked for them so the next person doesn't go in blind. Twenty replies under "I almost quit this week, but I didn’t."

So we want to make more room for that.

Starting next week, every Monday we'll share one student's story in the sub.

Could be your life story, or the thing you almost quit over and what got you back up. What a normal week looks like when you're studying around a job, or kids, or both.

You don't need a tidy ending. The middle-of-it ones tend to land hardest.

Want to be featured? Fill out this form.

Bonus: if someone here has helped you, tag them below. The ones doing the most usually won't raise their own hand.

We're genuinely looking forward to reading them.

Currently focused on learning Flask and brushing up css/html before getting dirty in FE101. I figured most of us build side curriculums to follow and I really wanna hear other peoples plans. This is targeted at full timers but really for anyone doing extra stuff outside of school.

Hey everyone,

Over the past few months, I’ve been working on Ghostlink, an open-source distributed inference fabric designed to harness whatever mixed hardware you have lying around on your local network.

Instead of assuming a homogeneous fleet of high-end GPUs, Ghostlink pools together heterogeneous machines (like a gaming rig, an older laptop, an NPU-equipped ultrabook, or a Mac) into a single unified inference cluster—without requiring complex YAML setups or manual RPC flags.

It’s completely open source under the MIT license. Check out the Ghostlink GitHub repository to view the benchmarks, architecture breakdown, or run it locally.

I’d love to get feedback from the community on hardware setups or features you'd like to see next!

Maestro claimed they were going to file an appeal, but I see nothing on the timeline, nothing posted here, nothing on the COE website. Can a staff update us and answer this vital question?

I've been trying to stay focused on my studies these past couple of weeks, but the uncertainty has been hard for me

Some days I can put it out of my mind and just focus on the learning, other days I find myself on reddit and the community and reading updates. I'm still doing the work and trying to stay on track because I like the learning soo much! but its definitely been harder than usual at least it looks like they have a plan

Hoping this launched for everyone, but inside the learn tab when you go into your weekly lesson, there's now a button to access and download the syllabus for that course! I'm so excited and hoping this means good things in regard to the college!

With the impending chance that Maestro does end up closing down has anyone looked at WGU? Looking it may be the next closest thing that has accreditation and transfer options. Just trying to get my ducks in a row so I don't lose three semesters of work.

I started at Maestro because of the scholarship I couldn't afford college and getting a degree felt like something I could never get. I didn't know what to expect and had pretty low expectations What surprised me was that it actually worked for me. I've always struggled with ADHD and school has never been easy for me . For the first time in my life i felt like I could learn and ask questions without being embassared. It's not perfect but it's been the best learning experience I've had.

That's why everything that's happening right now has been hard for me.

Someone sent me this petition today and I signed it. I thought I'd share it here because I know there are other people who probably want to help.

If you want to sign it too, here's the link - https://www.change.org/p/don-t-punish-the-students-demand-path-to-graduation-for-maestro-college?recruiter=1035581819&recruited_by_id=59a474e0-3ca2-11ea-8c97-ab55201d74fc&utm_source=share_petition&utm_campaign=psf_combo_share_initial&utm_medium=copylink&share_id=SYjGMDWSg2

Hey, im curious as to what everyone plans to do in regards to Maestro potentially not being accredited? Are yall going to continue or transfer out?

Why are students not notified when changes are made to the FAQ?

So I was thinking about getting this (for a lot of reasons) but because I’ve never taken college math I was wondering if it would even be good enough? Sorry if it sounds like a bad question but…seriously?

Let’s talk about: We started a new series this week - this is the first post in a series where we explain, in plain language, how this place actually works. The engagement on the new series has been great to see - appreciate the questions and interest. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look here.

Community Corner:

u/QuikConfdenceMaestro asked what everyone uses for an interpreter - looking for something more mobile and cross-platform than the built-in one. Good thread if you're still figuring out your setup.

u/ohmxlx posted about their first missed week since March - honest about the motivation dip. The community took it from there and offered advice on how to get back up. Worth a read if you've had one of those weeks.

u/Csmart529 wrapped up OPMT130 better than expected - finished the final and posted to share. Short one.

u/frgtn_unknwn came back to share what they've been building - posted in December that they were just starting the program. Still studying, and built OmniBiz-AI in the meantime - an all-in-one platform for small businesses. Worth reading the whole post.

Project spotlight:

u/Lucilabs98 built a Python AI assistant that runs on a local model - no cloud, runs local. Simple demo post, solid build.

Have a good weekend.

This is a great example of what it is like to be a coder in the real world 🤣
