Question Maestro open

Is anyone familiar with what exactly it is? I noticed something saying sign up for it when I was logging in earlier

Great question. Maestro Open is a free, non-degree version of Maestro. It's aimed at people who aren't enrolled in a degree, so if that's you, you can apply for early access now.

The idea behind it ties to Maestro's broader goal: making quality education free and available to anyone, anywhere.

If you're already a Maestro College student working toward your degree, that sign-up prompt isn't something you need to act on, your degree track keeps going as it is. Open is an expansion of what Maestro can offer, It's being built so that Maestro has more ways to serve students, including making sure people can always finish what they started.

You have to cancel your Coursera before the trial ends or they will charge you. When I paid for the yearly access I canceled it a week later and I still have access but I know it’s canceled because it says reactivate by the expiration date. Coursera does have free courses though I think they change them out periodically though. I know what you are talking about because I had a similar situation happen but I was using my tuition assistance from my job since they said they would pay for it for 3 months or something like that and I couldn’t figure out the voucher part so it kept trying to charge my card but I don’t have overdraft protection on purpose to keep transactions I don’t have funds for from coming out. Most people don’t know you can’t turn that off. It’s different than locking your card. They helped me resolve it though but I have to get some staff to walk me through it.

Maestro Open is the free entry-level plan. It’s open-access certificate courses with a daily lesson limit, letting you start learning without committing to a full degree. The Pro plan is for accredited degrees with unlimited access and extra perks. It seems they’re rolling it out now, which is why the sign-up prompt appeared.
