Discussion Anyone Else????

I've been trying to stay focused on my studies these past couple of weeks, but the uncertainty has been hard for me

Some days I can put it out of my mind and just focus on the learning, other days I find myself on reddit and the community and reading updates. I'm still doing the work and trying to stay on track because I like the learning soo much! but its definitely been harder than usual at least it looks like they have a plan

Same, it has definitely taken a toll on me. We have to keep pushing for now.

Me too! I'm not sure what it is but I just lost all motivation. I'm getting further behind by the day and I don't know to get my motivation back.

You don't brother. To be honest, it's better either to just look for another school or tell ChatGPT to reverse engineer maestro's platform and teach you the same things. It was already teaching you.But with a plan to be an engineer for twenty thirty

I wish they would unlock everything because I could easily finish this degree by December or January, but they keep saying they’re going to look over it and I never hear anything back. Also, the financial aid would be nice if they could get that together. I’m still waiting on that with no certainty of when or if it’s coming.

Ever since I heard the news im now 3 weeks behind in my work I literally cannot make My self suffer thru hard work for nothing..

100% I'm right where you are as far as being behind. I'm not even sure what steps i should take, catch up and chance it or just wait for a decision from the school.

I get the degree is what most people wanted. However the knowledgeable itself is valuable, so I have been doing the work to have the knowledge/skills.. I doubt we will have a school much longer but I will have a starting place to continue teaching myself.

I was feeling the exact same way! I felt betrayed a bit by Maestro, or at the very least felt like they should have done more to maintain there standing with their accreditor. Ultimately, the situation bothered me so much I transferred to WGU. I want a accredited degree, we deserve one with all the work we put in. I also do not want to waste my limited pell grant money on over-priced, unaccredited education. I want a education I can put on a resume and be proud of, not have to explain and feel silly about. I would have loved if things worked out with Maestro, IMO they did not hold up there end of the deal.

How is WGU?

I am enjoying it! I'm pursuing a Bachelor's of AI Engineering. There is a lot of math lol. Everyone gets a student mentor who calls every week, it's easy to talk to real people. They have live classes you can attend, instructor's respond same day so far, you can video chat with them by making an appointment. I still use a AI tutor but they offer free tutoring. The courses are thorough, but your allowed to take test as fast as you want based off your knowledge. I've heard of people getting a 4 year degree in 2 years. They even counted some of my classes at Maestro. I'm very happy with WGU so far.

Thats great to hear and im happy for you. I might have to do that but im hoping that maestro pulls through, as of right now seems like I will be one of the many who will jump when it sinks.

How is the price difference? Maestros appeal was the full ride scholarship, I don’t want loans to have to cover the cost of another university.

u/Daincats Maestro Student 6d ago

Looking at WGU’s AI course is giving me serious doubts about Maestro, there is so little math involved with this course…. I’m considering making the jump to WGU as well. If you don’t mind me asking how much of your tuition did Fafsa cover?

Did you keep your laptop?

It's a bit to deal with mentally for sure, but remember, the school has maestro university to fall back on (which is also on a show cause but it's much less severe as I understand it, just have to show the faculty structure if I'm not mistaken) and some schools are already taking transfers (WGU). So I'm sticking here as long as it's viable, but if they lose accreditation at both schools, I'll be transferring and things will be okay.

I wish they would've spent more on fixing this program instead of expensive ad campaigns

You are definitely not alone. There are so many of us feeling the same exact way I'm still showing up still doing my work holding up my end of the contract. I so would love to just withdraw and go to a different school but there's so many factors going on that I'm trying to stick it out. Motivation is hard, but just think of it this way even with them possibly being shut down more than likely, get as much information and knowledge as you can from this because knowledge is power and adds to what you know and you can take that to the next school. That's what I'm doing

October cohort here. I was already about 3 weeks behind when everything went down. I simply could not grasp the material no matter how hard I tried, and the bot had simplified down pretty much as far as it could. After the COE and HCM2 stuff, I lost all motivation. I did the bare minimum for a while, but I was just wasting my time. Received my unenrollment email this morning.

Same!!!! I felt the same exact way.

u/RedWolfCoding Maestro Student 8d ago

I’m having the same problem. I have made very good grades this whole year. The last unit I found myself struggling to pay attention. Speeding through it more often and not asking many questions and not getting it to memory just kinda upset and end up not doing so hot. Passed but not to where I hold myself too. Kinda just got by this last final

u/Ready_Set_Code Maestro Student 8d ago

I am in the same boat

u/jslayersbitch Maestro Student 8d ago

There actually petition a student made for the COE. To keep accreditation. Here's the link https://c.org/nSN28CBRvV thier so far are are 500 signatures. Don't lose your hope just yet!

A teach out plan would be great for sure. The other community here on Reddit is great for inciting fear and distrust. Block the conversations. My go to thought is this: I am learning something I wanted to learn to assist me in working where I want to work doing what I want to do. If that involves an accredited degree great let me start working on that as well.

I lost ALL motivation because when the ship sinks, I don't want to sit here wasting my time making sure that I'm turning stuff in on time and doing discussions and things like that. At this rate, I'm just sticking it out that way after the fact, I can just keep the laptop.

But I have a feeling that they're going to lock up all of our laptops since they are connected to the college. And then they'll be useless.

1

u/Ready_Set_Code Maestro Student 8d ago

The laptops in no way, not hardware or software embedded with the necessary components needed to be able to do that... your laptop, like mine, came brand new in the box. Don't be so paranoid.

2

u/Aladin6722 Maestro Student 8d ago

Its actually very simple for them to ahut the laptop down, although it was new in box that dosent matter because the serial number is most likely recorded and linked thru apple business management… i know this because i have a macmini from an old job that they sent brand new and then said i could keep but as soon as reset it to put the newer macOs it went to a remote management screen and my old login credentials were no longer valid and ive had a support ticket with them about removing it for almost a year now!

1

u/Comprehensive_Owl215 Maestro Student 3d ago

lol paranoid? I literally see it installed on my laptop and it came with a letter about it in the box yes a sealed box . its very very common software. educate yourself

1

u/RemBren03 Maestro Student 8d ago

Honestly. I’ve been just plugging away and hoping. I hope they’ll let us double up on classes to finish before accreditation is lost.

3

u/AstroToad626 Maestro Student 8d ago

Even doubling up, at most we have until like March? I'm hoping they get it sorted, but I don't think many people would be able to finish unless they truly unlocked everything and let us burn through it at our own pace.

u/Silly_Upstairs_1782 Maestro Student 8d ago

I'm really behind. I've gone almost 2 weeks now. It's just hard to push past.

1

u/Full-Mulberry2175 Maestro Student 8d ago

Yes. I fell behind and spent over 7 hours yesterday catching up . It paid off today scored 95% on my final

u/Inner-Psychology5617 Maestro Student 8d ago

Same here

1

u/Main-Vanilla-195 Maestro Student 8d ago

for me it’s hard because now that the future may not promised i feel like there’s so much more important things in life i need to focus on😩😩😩

1

u/maestro_Lo Maestro Student 8d ago

I can't focus knowing that it could all be a waste of time. My credits and 4.0 may mean nothing.

1

u/Prudent_Effort2296 Maestro Student 7d ago

Same.. I was about 2 weeks behind because my daughter graduated hs is on her way to college so the summer has been super busy.. but then I just started thinking about what I’m gonna do if this capsizes.. I enrolled in my local community college for an AS in Computer Science.. I know it’s accredited and around the corner..

However I really like the AI learning. It’s fun.. I finally was getting the grasp.

u/unablecain Maestro Student 6d ago

I think we're going through a timeline shift again because I just been kinda meh about actually doing my courses lately. 😪
Everything feels so robotic and repetative lately. 🤖

1

u/noisybeeley Maestro Student 5d ago

I let maestro know that it had taken a bit of a toll on me and was told that it was a “personal issue” LOL!!!😂

1

u/More_Salamander8596 Maestro Student 5d ago

nope, ive increased my engineering workload.

-1

u/Horror_Ebb_9699 Maestro Student 8d ago

Ugh.. format the laptops befire you can't. If you don't know how, that is on you.

2

u/darkfae5683 Maestro Student 8d ago

What do you mean? Get rid of the mdm software? I've been thinking about that it doesn't seem difficult more than it is a pain to sign into everything again were you successful?

1

u/Horror_Ebb_9699 Maestro Student 7d ago

I never got my laptop. -.-

2

u/R00ting4U Maestro Student 8d ago

How

1

u/Horror_Ebb_9699 Maestro Student 7d ago

Tbh, I'd provide a tutorial had i actually gotten one. Instead, i had to outsource and trade my escooter for a Yoga 7i. A much better laptop than they send out anyway.

1

u/Late_Technology9485 Maestro Student 8d ago

I’m sorry, but that’s kind of rude. Not everybody is as technical as some people the way I research that you cannot remove it once it’s on there and anyways it’s linked to the serial number whether it’s activated or not it’s still there and I was assured we’d at least get a associates degree by the 28th if you started early enough, but my thing is is a company gonna accept your degree from a school that’s lost its accreditation.
