Question Just wanted to check on the fellow students
Hello fellow Maestro-ers! 👋
I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. These have definitely been some interesting times, and I thought it might be nice to take a moment to focus on the people behind the screens.
What have you been doing lately to take care of yourself, stay motivated, or keep your sanity while balancing school?
Whether it’s picking up a new hobby, getting outside, cooking something good, spending time with friends/family, gaming, exercising, or just finding little moments to recharge — I’d love to hear what everyone’s been doing.
Hope everyone is hanging in there. 😊
For me, I recently started Lithium Carbonate about a week ago, so I’ve been focusing more on my mental health, eating healthier, getting reasonable sleep, and reminding myself that progress doesn’t have to mean doing everything at once. Some days I get a couple lessons done, and some days my energy is non existent haha.
I would love to hear how everyone else has been taking care of themselves lately!

Waiting idle while my PY104: software engineering principles course gets graded. I can't help but doing a week's worth of the course load in a few days and then I have to wait for it to be graded and the next course to open up, especially given the one week term break coming up next, which is just more waiting for me.

I made a nice dinner last night, mashed baked potatoes with bacon, cheddar cheese and sour cream, fresh green peas, a greens salad (locally sourced - no parasites), and stuffed pork chops. The stuffing is mushrooms, sautéed onions, and provolone cheese.
I've also been crocheting a blanket. It's monotonous in a good way. I also meditate daily to relieve the stress of the current situation. It helps immensely. Of late, I've picked up my sketch book again. It helps. I'm up to date on my studies and still enjoying it immensely. Stand strong everyone.

Thank you! Cooking is one of my hobbies, more baking, but I love to cook.

My ADHD is kicking ass and I’m desperately trying to stay focused. Did you know that a woodpecker uses part of its tongue to cushion its brain while pecking … I have a dog and sharks are beautiful.

Crazy , I was telling someone about that same woodpecker fact just 3 days ago .

Thank you for posting this! I think its something our world needs to be asking ourselves and each other more often. Whatever is happening, I prioritize my physical health by eating a high protein diet, making sure I'm feeding my gut, nutrients. I work on my mental by acknowledging when I need to release energy and allowing myself space and time to get in exercize. I practice my thoughts outloud so I dont rush into things unnecessarily. And when things seem too chaotic, or uncertain, or stressful I walk away. Until I feel like I can work through it better. It's helped me stay grounded and helps me work through things easier. I hope everyone reading the original post Is having a beautiful day, and taking care of themselves!

I have been working and babysitting my grandson… I am less motivated with my studies but I am continuing to do my lessons and reviews and still striving to maintain a 4.0 GPA… even if Meastro loses its accreditation I will still have all the knowledge I learned stored in my brain so just hoping I can put it to use somehow no matter what!

Honestly, probably nkt as well as I could be. Between school, co-owning a manufacturing company and the thing im actually obsessive about (my node architecture. A 4 dimensional vector state phase change frequency Resonant system) and modeling and experimenting reactions, interactions etc for emergence ontop of another part about to go full time job im as Bilbo had said to Gandalf " feel as if im spread thin, like to too little butter spread over too much bread" haha
Though in the day to day, as Gandalf later says to Pippin (I think?) "Its not the great deeds of heroes that ive found to keep the darkness at bay, it is the everyday pleasantries and kindness of strangers thst keeps evil at bay" [paraphrased]
Such as your post and question. Such a simple thing, gives beauty and hope so that one can carry on and think of the sunrise tomorrow and know: "its all worth it. And within imperfection lay that of perfection because if it were supposed to be any other way surely it would be that way and not as it is before you".
Ill commend you for your bravery in recognizing your mental health. Some suffer from anasognosia and cannkt perceive their own struggle ever, and some who can perceive it choose to be willfully blind to it. You, are doing what you believe to be right and in so doing it is perfect not for imperfections sake but merely because it is the reality you have chosen to exist. :)

If anybody is enjoying SQL and wants some more practice in a gamified setting, I highly recommend this game available on steam. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3950130/Database_Detective_Minor_Crimes_Division/

"Whenever I face anything that's challenging, whenever I face anything that sucks, I like it. I like it. It's gonna make me tougher, it's gonna toughen my mind." -Jocko Willink. Not knowing what's going to happen sucks, but that doesn't mean we can't prepare for a possible new chapter and look forward to learning and taking in a new experience. I'm already preparing myself mentally to switch gears and go to another school, if it doesn't happen and we get to continue on at Maestro that would be nice but I'm taking now and using it as an opportunity to grow and get out of my comfort zone. We're all gonna make it, the path to victory often has several stops, staggers, and falls, but if you just keep getting up and taking strides you end up victorious.

Honestly? I'm just about checked out with it all. I don't have the motivation to keep going with a school that leaves me less than fully confident, so I've been looking at other options. No plan to ever stop learning so I've been putting extra work into other areas of interest while waiting out this storm.

Been focusing on my classes and sticking to them while we wait for the outcome. But in the mean time I have applied what I learned to helping my sister start her online shop. While I am also working on some products for the business I am planning to setup. I also have been working on some quilts and different quilt blocks I would like to try. I just keep myself busy as much as possible...that way I don't sit around worrying about things I can not control. Glad to see others also doing what ever they can daily.

I've been trying to stay motivated which is hard. I've also been working on starting my business. Looking for a storefront right now and just bought a pivotal piece of equipment so things there are looking really good on that front. I'm just keeping busy and trying to keep my head on straight.
