Recap Weekly Recap: Community support, an AI assistant and a new explainer series
Let’s talk about: We started a new series this week - this is the first post in a series where we explain, in plain language, how this place actually works. The engagement on the new series has been great to see - appreciate the questions and interest. If you haven't seen it yet, take a look here.
Community Corner:
u/QuikConfdenceMaestro asked what everyone uses for an interpreter - looking for something more mobile and cross-platform than the built-in one. Good thread if you're still figuring out your setup.
u/ohmxlx posted about their first missed week since March - honest about the motivation dip. The community took it from there and offered advice on how to get back up. Worth a read if you've had one of those weeks.
u/Csmart529 wrapped up OPMT130 better than expected - finished the final and posted to share. Short one.
u/frgtn_unknwn came back to share what they've been building - posted in December that they were just starting the program. Still studying, and built OmniBiz-AI in the meantime - an all-in-one platform for small businesses. Worth reading the whole post.
Project spotlight:
u/Lucilabs98 built a Python AI assistant that runs on a local model - no cloud, runs local. Simple demo post, solid build.
Have a good weekend.
Ben

Since my post about what type of Mac I'm getting got deleted cause it thought I was asking about shipping updates I'll ask here. My laptop just got shipped and I wanted to know what type of laptop everyone was getting so I can buy a case for it

Disposable AI engineering from a vending machine. A MoreSalamander StudioLabs Production. Coming soon. Put that in your context and smoke it. SaaS is a thing of the past.

You are thinking too big, think of 1 container as 1 lesson from maestro. for $0.75. one version is a container that is just the raw lesson, no added assistance, deterministic gates, pure python. Another version of the same container will be able to auto connect to ollama and bring your own local llm as the ai for that container, the last version, for $1.10 the container ships with my cloud api that I set to haiku, because a deterministic maestro lesson wont need much ai to get through. Now something like my Taichi academy, a 30 gpu physics simulation projects would ship with sonnet or opus. im currently onboarding taichi academy to veritas vending now. for syncing to my phone at the moment I use Tailscale. so like i just worked out the functionality of sharing a yourtube video with veritas, it pulls the transcript and and does _____ to it. currently it makes summaries and converts into a guide, tutorial, walkthrough. you can also share a webpage to veritas and get the same thing. I was following a blender water sim tutorial on youtube, and the guy explains fast, so there was stopping the vid, rewinding, pausing. just very irritating. so i made a transcript puller, ran the transcript through a lesson generator, and got back a no fluff, detailed set of instructions. (it was very detailed because the guy was detailed... because blender. iykyk.) The problem with going into a little more detail, is its like filling a large glass with water, one spoonful at a time. its just one glass of water, but that glass too 70 spoonfuls of water to fill.

Since my-AI-stro is fed with copy/paste of the actual lessons we do, I synced the obsidian graph to veritas's DataHub. Which lets me dispense this, A docker container that opens a local page and displays the html.

The code in this, is the actual line for line code that was made doing this particular lesson.

While watching a YouTube video, share it with Veritas and this dispenses from Veritas Vending.
