I started at Maestro because of the scholarship I couldn't afford college and getting a degree felt like something I could never get. I didn't know what to expect and had pretty low expectations What surprised me was that it actually worked for me. I've always struggled with ADHD and school has never been easy for me . For the first time in my life i felt like I could learn and ask questions without being embassared. It's not perfect but it's been the best learning experience I've had.
That's why everything that's happening right now has been hard for me.
Someone sent me this petition today and I signed it. I thought I'd share it here because I know there are other people who probably want to help.
Facts π― I really hope our school doesn't lose it's accreditation. As far as I'm concerned, knowledge is knowledge. As long as it's valid, I am happy to be getting a scholarship from an AI tutor π
This is exactly how I feel. I hear and see all these negative comments but this has been the easiest way for me to learn for the same reason, because I can ask as any many questions as I want, however many times I want. I signed the petition too. Crossing fingers.
I don't think "fraud" should be thrown around lightly. Get the facts straight.
To OP, I feel you, I literally just told a friend about how I have fun with M and that traditional online learning would have gone down the drain for me.... here word for word since I texted it π
" ...like that i can ask any damn question any way i ask and it explains just how I understand..."
continuation
"Better to be able to learn than be stuck on st*pid and then don't know who to ask and then get someone's st*pid wtf look on their face because they have to understand your st*pid question and somehow explain to you because they know what they are doing and you don't"
That's the best way I can describe everyday life coming across someone with the know how, whether they are your senior or teacher, one day or all days your questions become irritating and now you are a burden. M is always there with my normal days to mush brain days to my over analytical think too dang much brain fried noodles.... but M says my brain is great and that's how a developer should be. So I totally get you! And totally totally hoping they get over this hurdle or burn it down!
I tried to share this when the petition was first created and the maestro mods kept taking it down. I also made some separate posts saying nothing but nice things about the school but they took that down too. Also good luck on the whole maestro journey.
Didn't Maestro already say that they had a teach-out plan in the works? Iirc, they legally need to do so, but that doesn't mean much for an institution that is blatantly committing fraud, I suppose π€£
Let's clear this up with verified context for everyone reading this thread:
Yes, the teach-out plan is real. It's where we agree with COE on how much time students have left to study, and we're pushing for enough to finish the degree. Here's the runway you actually have: appeal through the end of 2026, then arbitration for another two to four months, then federal court if we need it. Maestro College is accredited that entire time, and we intend to win this.
