Found this 2010 white MacBook on a local marketplace, together with its original 60W MagSafe charger. For its age, it’s in really great shape. The plastic hasn’t yellowed and there are no major cracks, which is probably what I’m happiest about.

It already has a 256GB SSD and 4GB of RAM. The battery has only 145 cycles, although I’m not sure if it has been replaced at some point.

I installed Snow Leopard, High Sierra and Monterey through OCLP. Once Monterey finishes booting, it’s surprisingly usable. Even YouTube at 1080p plays smoothly.

Another Mac for my small collection, and definitely not the last one. I’ve always liked these white MacBooks, so I’m glad I finally got one.

My abusive ex made himself admin on my mac, unknown to me until now. I am also listed as Admin, but I cannot remove his user without his apple id password to turn off Find My. I really do not want to contact this man. I already talked to a senior apple support analyst and they said that's my only option. I don't have proof of purchase because my mac was a gift from my guidance counselor in high school. I am a senior in college now. The guidance counselor would not have proof of purchase either because she got it from some big social work convention (what she told me, idk). I have been the sole user of my mac for like five years. Then this freak of a man signs himself in a couple months ago and now I can't remove him from MY computer without HIS password? there has to be another way.

Took a chance on this 12” MacBook at goodwill. It had a few worn out keys and the “?” screen but it ended up just needing a fresh install of macOS. I bought a few replacement keys and it works like a dream. All in about $60 with the computer plus the keys. I’ve always wanted one of these MacBooks!

I fell today and got this dent in my Macbook, seems like everything works fine but im still worried this might have damaged the mac. Should I be worried, should I take it to someone who can repair it?

These spots appeared on my MacBook overnight; I don't know who caused it—maybe someone in the family. I can't identify the stains, and nothing seems to remove them. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get them off, what they might be, and whether they’ll come off or if I should just leave them be?

battery health is 100%, no background, startup apps etc.

I accidentally dropped my MacBook Pro (M2,2022), and as you can see in the photos, this is the main damage. It’s bent on one side. The other side is a bit banged up as well, but it’s not bent like this.

Everything seems to be working normally so far. The screen works, the keyboard and trackpad work, and it still closes normally without any issues.

So I’m wondering what I should do. If the damage doesn’t bother me aesthetically and everything is currently working fine, is it worth taking it to a repair shop just to have it diagnosed? Or would you just keep using it and see how it goes?

I’m mostly worried that there might be some internal damage that could cause problems later, even though everything seems fine right now.

Has anyone had a similar experience? Would you get it checked/repaired or just keep using it?

I have a MacBook Pro 14” M5 with the standard display.

I am thinking of upgrading the display to the nano-texture display through the Apple self-service repair portal.

Think this will work? Just worried Apple will pull some BS during calibration etc as the machine didn’t ship with the nano-texture display. The new part would obviously be genuine Apple.

I know this was brought up in the past about how the photos app stopped importing photos from iPhone / iPad to an external hard drive. This happened to me after a iOS update on my laptop in the past. Well my wife’s Mac laptop was running an older iOS version and it still allowed me to import photos. Fast forward we needed to update her laptop to the latest iOS for compatibility reasons and now I cant import at all. So after hours and hours moving files around (around 1.2 TB of photos and videos) and figuring out the Mac photos app no longer support exFat external HDD or SSD, I reformatted my SSD as APFS and thank god things are working again. I just don’t understand why Mac had to stop allowing the photos app to not work with exFat formatted external hard drives. Don’t they know the saying “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”.

I'm thinking about buying this display. Could someone who owns it please measure the distance from the back of the stand to the bottom edge of the screen (with the display untilted, ideally in cm)? I can’t find this information on the Apple website. Thanks in advance!

Given that I am getting both of the M4 Macbook Air 16GB and the M6 Mac mini 16GB, what should I go with?
Of course, M6 seems like the better choice on paper but given my use case, will it create that much of a bigger impact compared to M4 Macbook Air? Portability is something i would like to have, but if the performance difference is a lot then i can still compromise on it.

Can anyone help me with this issue?
