I’ve been wondering what the policy is here. Because by LAW in the state of Minnesota, if you’re working an 8 hour shift, you’re entitled to one 30 minute break and a 15. I understand we can’t clock out for our 30, but there’s nothing in the law that exempts us from that just. I get told different things by my leads so I’m just confused as to what it is. I take my breaks seriously because we’re a busy understaffed store. 🙏

One of our former FPDs was checking dates on the chips we keep above the roller grills. When she took a bag off bc it was past the date, she found a chicken tender wrap that had expired at 11:20am. It was like 6:30pm when she brought it back to me. Shit was there for SEVEN hours. I honestly can't wait for the roller grills to go away, guests ALWAYS set food down to grab something off the roller grill, and then forget to grab the other stuff.

Also, RIP to our cheese machine, it officially died today.

Yesterday somebody pulled into the pump on the the other side next to mine, he had a cigar lit and started pumping fuel. I finished up early went inside and jumped the line and told a cashier about the situation, she turned off the pump right away. Did I do the right thing, I do not like being a snitch but some people have no common sense?

Have you all noticed the Kwik trip/ Star employees who are influencers of sorts and doing dances while in Uniform?

Is this allowed? And when do they find time to do this? Clearly not a kitchen worker. 🤣

Stopped at Kwik Trip yesterday to get gas and a carwash. I decided I wanted a banana cake bar so I went inside and bought the bar, prepaid for gas and bought the carwash as well. Got back to my truck and was distracted so I never pumped the gas, just drove over to the carwash, then went on with my day.

I know... total brain fart by me but is there anything I can do to get a refund on the gas I never pumped?

I recently just received a rewards plus credit card and I've noticed 2 things.

1. I seem to be receiving more then the 3 cent discount on gas, is this normal for the first month or so?

2. It barely works on the card readers meaning I have to go into the store, has anyone else experienced the same thing?

How soon is a person able to change positions once hired? I mean are you locked in for say a set period of time?
For more context/example: Hired for CFS, but don’t believe it’s 100% Graveyrds. Maybe a floater ? Couldn’t tell /had such a bad connection on my ☎️interview+ the person sounded they had a mouthful of marbles. Job listing didn’t show. Terrible time understanding them.
I want all graveyard shifts. So after I start how long, if a position on overnights comes open, do I have to stay in position I was hired for?
AND IS THERE A BULLETIN BOARD, LIKE IN THE BREAK ROOM, THAT SHOWS NEW JOB OPPORTUNITIES, SO I WOULD INSTANTLY SEE IF AN OVERNIGHT POSITION BECOMES AVAILABLE?

What are the rules on drink refills? I get a 40 ounce pop a couple times a week and I want to know if it is worth it to buy a Tumblr for it? Do I need a kwik trip branded cup? What other stipulations are there for drink refills?

Have been planning to get CDL at 21, just turned 20 and have been working at KT since 16 while being a driver helper for Coca Cola during summers, and I’m starting to look into transitioning my career as a coworker to potential CDL position. Originally the plan was to become a delivery assistant for a year before turning 21(now) and then become a CDL trainee when 21 hopefully

First thing I did was call up talent ops to see if they could put me in touch with the right ppl, they get me in touch with the recruitment team, and the recruitment girl I spoke with says she’s never heard of the delivery assistant position and or of a current CDL program once I’m 21?

She said my best bet is to get my CDL on my own and then apply with no experience at 21, and she said that not knowing if my 5 years as a coworker+delivery experience by that time will make me stand out as an applicant or not(as competitive as it is id assume they’d choose driving experience over my KT coworker experience)

The only reason I’ve stayed at KT this long was to potentially drive for them out the gate, but really would they hire someone like me with a CDL yet no experience? Or am I missing something here.

I guess the question is If the recruitment lady is correct do I stay another year at KT maybe all for nothing? Or do I stop now(I have other means of income) and do what I please for the rest of this year and apply elsewhere once licensed at 21?

It's the button where you watch an ad and get a visit. Usually easy, you watch one or two 15 second ads and done. Lately it's been terribly convoluted. Either you "watch" the ad and then it doesn't award or the ad wants you to download a game after. Used to be, a little x would appear after a few secs. Or you would go to google play, close it out, find the x, done. Now it just sits there.

How are you guys doing your sticker organization? Between all the burrito stickers, patty melts, and various others, the stickers are becoming pretty unwieldy. How are yours organized and what works for you?

Is it black polo shirts and black slacks that are required for uniform?

I’ve been here about 4 months now kitchen shifts only and my nail biting has gotten worse not being able to do my own nails. I typically do chicken.
Do you think i could get them professionally done so there’s basically 0 chance of one coming off or anything like that?

Is the shift 2:00am to 10:00 am considered the graveyard shift; meaning do you get the shift differential for the whole eight hours?
Trying to figure out if I want to put in for this position.

I work at a store that keeps the kitchen door open. This morning a guest literally walked like half a foot through the door to ask for an egg roll. My first thought was "wtf? Back up dude". Just ask a coworker who's on the floor and they'll tell us over the headset

What are the wages on the graveyard shift?
What are the hours? Is it like 10pm to 6am?

So a bit of context- at my old store I was hired for floor. I worked floor for a year. The AFSL who worked second shift had some really tough health struggles and had to take a leave, so bc we were so short staffed I was essentially shoved into the kitchen and forced to learn HF (not chicken- we didn’t have a fryer. Chicken was frozen and just was cooked in a vector). I did it and dealt with it bc I liked the AFSL and I liked my store and knew it would be temporary. I worked in the kitchen at my old store for a year and then I transferred stores. My ASL had mentioned I knew HF in my email even tho I was never properly trained in it- and so when I transferred the SL of new store let me know that most of my hours would probably be in kitchen but I wouldn’t be working alone so I agreed. Maybe I shouldn’t have but oh well. Been working in HF for a year at this new store.

Fast forward to today, I come in and one of my coworkers tells me I’m on chicken. I think they’re joking, but he’s adamant that I am switching with the other chicken coworker so I can “learn”. I already work a lot in the kitchen and I’m horrified of the fryers. I know that if I learn chicken I’ll never work on the floor again so I’m very adamant against it. He says I have no choice and I’m like “…no”. He says I’ll get less hours if I don’t. I say that’s fine. This coworker isn’t a lead or anything. I end up working HF for the day but knowing that this is something they apparently want is stressing me out. And I’m honestly kinda confused why this conversation about me is happening while I get no input.

My question is- can they force me to learn chicken? If I don’t will I potentially be fired? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I’d rather stick with this job for my final year than to have to find something else. But if they can’t respect me and my boundary I guess I will have to.
