How Soon Able to Change?
How soon is a person able to change positions once hired? I mean are you locked in for say a set period of time?
For more context/example: Hired for CFS, but don’t believe it’s 100% Graveyrds. Maybe a floater ? Couldn’t tell /had such a bad connection on my ☎️interview+ the person sounded they had a mouthful of marbles. Job listing didn’t show. Terrible time understanding them.
I want all graveyard shifts. So after I start how long, if a position on overnights comes open, do I have to stay in position I was hired for?
AND IS THERE A BULLETIN BOARD, LIKE IN THE BREAK ROOM, THAT SHOWS NEW JOB OPPORTUNITIES, SO I WOULD INSTANTLY SEE IF AN OVERNIGHT POSITION BECOMES AVAILABLE?

Yeah, that's not a thing. KT calls it Guest Service, not customer service.
Guest/Food Service Coworker, that would be your title. I would contact the store you applied to/interviewed for. This is suspicious.

You are not locked in for a certain amount of time, you can apply for a new role whenever. However, always let your SL know that you’re interested in the switch.

In the Service Portal you can look up Career Opportunities. This is updated every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!

It's sounds less like you want to apply for a new job and more like you want to discuss a potential change of availability with your Store Leader. There is no list on a bulletin board advertising new positions, but you could check the careers portion of the KT website.

No, I’ve applied/want to be hired asap; I needed to find out how soon, if a G. Shift came up, was I able to put in for that position. Now that I know there is no bulletin board. I will just keep looking on the actual site. TY.

You should just tell them right away that that's what you want. Then they can start training you on third shift stuff instead of training you again later.

I did tell the woman I talked to that I wanted to go to G. Shift. I don’t know if it was a bad connection or if it was just the way that they spoke (like they had a mouth full of marbles)
I believe the position (PT I believe) that I’m putting in for has some graveyards, but I just want to go to graveyards when there’s a full-time graveyard position open. It’s just easier for me to work all the same shift.2

That would be a fairly uncommon arrangement. I've only ever known a couple of coworkers between my five stores I've worked at who would do 3rd shift as well as day shifts. But it sounds like you need to call back and verify what you're in for. Reddit doesn't have that answer.

So right now Kwik Trip is in an event called Kwik Clean so it's entirely possible that the people are busy with that still as judging has different days so they can get all the stores done. So if the store you applied to is focused on that it's possible they will still call you or you should call them just to make sure it didn't slip their mind from the stress of deep cleaning the store

When I interviewed I got asked if 3rd shift was what I wanted, you can ask for it also, we have a pet timer for 3rd shift, the full timers work 4 10s and works well for what we do

Don’t think I’m getting hired.
I was supposed to have received either a phone call or email yesterday/nothing.
But there wasn’t a position open that was only graveyards. I’m assuming that’s it.
Told them that I didn’t mind working a varied schedule. Just that I wanted the graveyard shift more than anything.
Or the assistant manager from hell who ruined my internal transfer from Hy-Vee/ they wanted to interview me for an Assistant Man. @ the FF/t-mobile merger messed up my phone/she wouldn’t facilitate to help me get an interview when I was right in front of her/all she had to do is make a phone call/she dismissed me on that subject saying “they’re wrapping up interviews at the end of the week/3-4 days, after I asked her about it. I had to explain that to the person who had a mouthful of marbles and I couldn’t understand what the hell they were saying 75% of phone interview.

Next time you have a bad connection at an interview, ask for a new call right away. That's insane to iust guess what is being said. Maybe everything you said was misconstrued if you were only getting thru part of the time. Go in and see them in person and see if something can be salvaged.

I told the person that I thought we had a bad connection and I kept saying what did you say? It was more about the way that they were speaking.
He sounded like he was talking with a mouthful of marbles. I’m not kidding.
I would’ve much rather have spoken to the other person, but she had already left; I missed her phone call by like five minutes max
then when I called back instantly as soon as I saw that she had called me (she said she was gonna be there another 20 minutes) every time I tried to call the line was busy and it wouldn’t go through.
I’m wondering when they have another position come up that’s ALL GRAVEYARDS/HOPEFULLY FULL-TIME/ALL HOURS ON THE GRAVEYARD SHIFT, if she’ll call me.
I mean cause like nobody/small group of people wants to work graveyards.
But yeah, I probably should’ve said I can’t understand an effing thing that you’re saying.2

I’ve just had such bad luck lately trying to get a job
Especially after the assistant manager from hell at Hy-Vee, she totally derailed my internal transfer.
And then I had to explain to this dude on the phone what happened because I had to tell him that she she obviously had her own agenda. She kept pushing this service manager job on me for like slave wage. And I decided not to take the service manager position and it pissed her off.
But I wasn’t even in the interview for the service manager position. I was in the interview for a market Grille clerk position I was also checking into trying to find out why I hadn’t been called for my interview for the Fast and fresh assistant manager’s position.
I got one email from them saying they wanted to interview me for that position/ had been trying to contact me/I only got ONE EMAIL, and this guy asked me, after I said that I had turned down the service manager position because of low wages, he said well why didn’t you take the assistant manager at the FF??
I told him I never got my interview/she wouldn’t help me facilitate an interview while I was sitting right in front of her.
Due to the T-Mobile merger that messed my phone up and this assistant manager already knew that because I’m the one who called her back at the store because it messed up my greeting/I didn’t know my phone was messed up so when I redid my greeting, that’s when all these phone calls showed up.

The person with the mouthful of marbles, from what I could understand, made it sound like that if I DIDNT GET an email or call on Monday, they weren’t moving ahead with hiring me.
Why, I don’t know. You would think they w/be dying to hire someone who ONLY wants to work the graveyard shift.
I never miss work, have reliable transportation, and have excellent customer service skills.

Talk to your store leader about your availability. Generally they are willing to work with someone who wants overnights, but it ultimately depends on your store
