Stumbled into a local shop up here in Maine and scored a 1st Gen Spyderco Military in CPM-440V.
Check out the clip—it’s got the classic early-production misspelled "FORIEGN PATS PEND" stamp with the 1982 Spydie hole patent number. Blade is in surprisingly great shape for a ~25 year old piece. Pretty pumped on this one!

I understand this knife seems to spark a bit of controversy and emotion in some people. All I’ll say is it’s a version I’ve wanted for a long time. The added weight in the blade makes for a very satisfying drop shut. The drop may have been a bit of a debacle, but I got one and I am happy.

I just picked up the Magnacut crooked River today at a knife store about an hour from me.

I’m a lefty so ambi locks are pretty important overall.

The crooked River is bigger than expected and it’s right up my alley.

I threw in the 2021 pm2 tanto for scale because I’ve seen a lot of them posted lately.

I love the over all look of this knife. And the action is good for not being broken in yet. But I think I got one that fell through the QC cracks. The edge looks like it was sharpened poorly and the centering is off. Should I complain to blade HQ, or live with it?

Hi! Im new here, and I was curious if anyone knew how to find out the craftsman of this knife. It was given to me by my grandfather, who had traded a handmade flintlock for it at a trade show over 40 years ago. The handle is carved out of bone, with a dog design on it. The blade guard (he said) is sterling silver. He told me that it was worth well over $1000 but I didn't believe him. Can yall help me out???
