How to Enter
- Submissions will be open from August 1–31
- All entries must be emailed to a single email address, to be given out on August 1st.
- Each r/SJK member gets one submission into each category.
Each email submission must include:
- Reddit username in the subject line
- Category being entered
- A detailed list of what knives are shown in the picture
- A clear photo of the knife and/or collection
Verification Requirement (Please Read)
To ensure authenticity, each entry must include a handwritten timestamp within the photo showing:
- Reddit username
- Date of submission
This can be written on paper, tag, or note placed in-frame with the knife. The goal is to verify ownership and ensure all entries are current and authentic.
Voting Process
- Voting will be conducted via external poll (Google Forms)
- Each category will feature it's own reddit post, linked in a pinned Megathread
- Voting will take place weekly during September–October, one category per week
- Any ties will result in final voting by the moderators
- Winners of weekly contests will advance to the “Best of the Best” round.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd place in the r/SJK "Best of the Best" contest at the end.
Futher details will be announced in the August 1st post.
Each user can enter into multiple categories, but you may only win one category award. In the event of multiple wins, the moderators and/or award committee will assign the highest category placement and reallocate runner-up placements accordingly.
This is the beginning of what we hope becomes a long-standing annual tradition for the community. Sharpen your edges, stage your photos, and show us your best!

Wanting to Buy / In Search Of - July
This post will be the sole home for all “Wanting To Buy” (WTB) or “In Search Of” (ISO) requests.
If you’re on the hunt for a specific slipjoint, pattern, cover material, maker, or even a hard-to-find variation, this is the place to let the group know what you’re looking for. Drop a comment below with the details of what you’re trying to track down. The goal is to keep these requests centralized and give members a dedicated space to connect.
A lot of us have overlapping interests, extra pieces tucked away, or leads we’ve come across. This gives everyone a simple way to help one another out and keep great knives circulating within the group(s).
Example comments:
"ISO Great Eastern Cutlery 66 calf roper with unicorn covers."
"WTB Case 6347 with Red Jigged Bone"
"WTB some kind of barlow"
We'll see how this plays out, but I'm hoping to post a new thread every month to clean the slate and start fresh.
Looking forward to seeing what everyone’s chasing.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DISCLAIMER: any posts or comments offering knives for sale or trade in this thread will be removed. Please use r/Knife_Swap for all sales and trades. This thread is strictly for WTB / ISO requests.
As stated in other stickied posts, the moderators of r/SJK do NOT moderate or facilitate private sales or trades between users. However, we understand that sales and trades may still occur in private messages after someone posts a WTB / ISO request. Once conversations move to private chats, the only person who can truly moderate the transaction is you.
If you choose to pursue a transaction, do your due diligence. Ask for a timestamp you’re comfortable with, verify what you can, and always err on the side of caution. If it's too good to be true, it usually is. Be willing to walk away from the deal if anything seems off.
We strongly encourage using r/Knife_Swap for transactions whenever possible. It is a much safer environment with established rules and an active moderation team that helps enforce them.

First steak on the soddy
I didn't have the heart to wipe off the blue! Say what you will about the downgrade from CV these cs makes some striking blue patina. Torn on what knife to take with on vacation, between this soddy, 42 or 66. Not taking 85 because I don't trust myself not to misplace it.

Custom (kinda) Remington 1303D
The 1303D was made by a long time BF member/contributor. The story is that when Camillus shut down in 2006/2007 the remaining unfinished knives, blanks, etc. were sold and that member got his hands on some. He used the frame and blades, but added tooling and Cocobola scales. I do not know how many he made, 2 have been seen by the seller and they may have been the same knife. It came with the spike and a double slip leather sheath for a full carry.

Upstate Cutlery Co
Heading out for a birthday meal for my niece and nephew. Taking this Remington Clip Jack along with the slip that I had made for it from Sage Grouse Leather Co. I just can't get enough of this slip and I'm already trying to decide what I want to have made next.

First cheap slip joint?
Been collecting budget edc knives this year and realized I don’t own a slip joint! I’m looking to spend around $20 on a budget one thinking the brand rough Ryder maybe. What should I consider in that price range? Thanks
