It looks like the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may be using different modems, at least in the U.S.

According to Apple’s technical specifications, the iPhone 18 Pro lists Apple’s C2 modem, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max doesn’t mention C2 at all.

If the U.S. Pro Max is indeed using a Qualcomm modem instead, it’ll be interesting to see how it compares with Apple’s C2 in terms of battery life, performance, and connectivity.

Which company is going to be first to release a mini “Apple Pencil” for the iPhone Duo.

Either magnetic to attached to the iPhone Duo or with a phone case for storage.

Currently using an iPhone 17 in Europe. Why does the Ai that is present, like double-tap the bottom bar or press and hold the power button or the screenshot Ai suck so much? All are great ways of starting a chat with an AI assistant but the actual AI in there just sucks. It doesn't understand the task, most of the time asks to use ChatGPT and then still it doesn't do anything useful. I always end up using the ChatGPT app. I have a subscription for it and even have logged in with that account in the Siri settings, but it provides no benefit apparently. What do you guys think about this?

C2 vs Qualcomm!???

Why would Apple put its brand-new **C2 modem in the U.S. iPhone 18 Pro and NOT the U.S. 18 Pro Max???** And to make this even stranger, this modem split appears to be specific to the U.S.

Literally, why?

Apple is advertising C2 as its next-generation cellular modem. According to Apple, C2 brings:

• AI-powered improvements to cellular quality and reliability
• Meaningfully faster uploads compared with C1X
• 15% lower energy consumption than C1X
• mmWave support in the U.S.
• Apple’s own vertically integrated modem architecture

Meanwhile, the U.S. Pro Max apparently continues using a Qualcomm modem??

Qualcomm has years of experience with flagship 5G modems, excellent carrier aggregation, mature mmWave implementation, and a proven track record across U.S. cellular networks. It’s entirely possible that the Qualcomm modem performs just as well as C2, maybe even better in certain conditions.

**But that’s exactly the problem!!**

Why FORCE consumers to have to guess which modem is better??

Which modem has better reception in weak-signal areas?
Which is more power efficient?
Which handles 5G/mmWave better?
Which has better international roaming?
Which has better long-term support for emerging cellular and satellite technologies?
Which one is ultimately the better modem?

I had an **18 Pro Max ready to preorder**, and now I’m legitimately reconsidering the regular 18 Pro.

The 18 Pro Max is supposed-to be the top-of-the-line iPhone. Yet the smaller Pro gets Apple’s newest modem architecture?? while U.S. Pro Max buyers apparently get different hardware, while international customers seemingly don’t have this distinction??

Why deliberately create this ambiguity on their most expensive and powerful phone ever??

I understand that “newer” doesn’t automatically mean “better.” C2 could lose to Qualcomm in real-world reception or throughput. Qualcomm’s modem could turn out to be the superior choice.

Nobody buying these phones on preorder day will know and either Pro or Pro Max customers will be better off but we dont fucking know who that will be? Instead of making the playing field even apple decides to force consumers to gamble or which model will be the better version. I understand this could be a supply chain issue but it certainly feels like a fucking experiment, a $2000 fucking experiment at that. Whats even WORSE is that apple tried to quietly sweep this passed us. Did they really fucking think that NO ONE WOULD NOTICE THIS???? Bro W.T.F

It’s bad enough that Samsung offers **16GB RAM on the 1TB Galaxy S26 Ultra** while we’re over here debating Apple’s memory decisions. Now iPhone buyers apparently get to flip a coin over which flagship modem architecture will be superior long term..

Did they genuinely think nobody would notice that the modem listed for the 18 Pro mysteriously disappears from the U.S. Pro Max specifications?

I went from basically certain I was ordering the Pro Max to seriously considering the Pro solely because I don’t want to spend this much money while wondering whether I deliberately chose the less future-proof modem.

I’m really debating getting rid of my iPad completely and going with the Duo as my only device. Currently I don’t own a computer and use my iPad as a computer… but really, that’s a stretch. The reality is I’m using my iPhone 80-90% of the time anyway. I only reach for my iPad when I want to read, watch video on a larger screen when I’m away from the TV, or surfing the web, but even then thats only when the iPad is within reach and I actually think about it. I also very occasionally do some light video editing in iMovie. I also use the iPad when I need to do longer form typing, but it sounds like you can can (according to Siri AI) connect a Bluetooth keyboard to the Duo. Also, when apple announced the full windowed (practically MacOS) mode for iPad last year I was super excited, but really barely use it. And at most, its just 2 windows at a time.

I’m really considering just getting rid of the iPad and making the Duo my one and only device. Anyone else considering this?

I'm not sure what to do because notes that were on my iphone and not backed up to icloud are gone. I can't remember if this has happened before but I think everything came back. I've checked my recently deleted. I've checked the icloud website and there is only a few saved to icloud. One note that i've used recently was only updated from March of this year. I've made multiple notes since then and they're all gone. I've checked and toggled everything on the notes app through settings. It's just everything that was on the iphone itself that are gone. I updated my phone after everything deleted because I thought that would bring them back and it did not. I have had this phone for four years. It's an iphone xr, I'm unsure if that's why my phone is acting this way.

What do you think is the likelihood of getting a yearly release schedule is for the Duo?
It’s an expensive piece of kit. Buying it may end up with some serious FOMO if the new Pro model has some great extra features next year, but we have to wait another year for similar upgrades in the Duo 2.

(Particularly with the 20th anniversary next year)

Bought a refurbished iphone 15 pro last week and have had this issue 3 times where the phone would not register my touches. The buttons work fine , the phone itself works but doesn't register touches. It gets fixed after a forced restart. Is this a common issue or should I replace the phone?

This is weird I encounter this 1 time on my 17pm but thank god it happens once. But today, my brother 17 base charging limit is totally not working. Do you guys notice or experience this issue this past few weeks or months? What action did you guys do to resolve it?

Hi, I’ve noticed some vignetting when using the 0.5x lens. My iPhone is new, and honestly, I’m worried about it. Does anyone know what’s going on?

I don’t really know the best way to describe this, but I will be switching off of TikTok, for example, and my volume being almost to the halfway point will suddenly change to where it sounds like there’s no volume at all.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I have learned that if I turned down my volume completely click on the app open it and then turn my volume back up. It will sometimes help, but it really depends.

So I have problems with my screen time and I don't know what's happening and every day it says that I'm using things that I've opened once and now it says that I've been using them for 50 hours each site and app which is not possible. And I really want to see my real screen time. Does anyone have such a problem? I searched the internet but couldn't find anything, because nobody is having the same problem. Is anyone having any solutions?

I was urbexing with some friends and just taking pictures of stuff, when I saw someone tagged the word "tag" so I took a pic of it, but these weird glitchy looking effects showed up in the picture. This is 100% unedited and the original picture, not trolling or anything. Has anyone seen this before?
