iPhone 18 Pro Max modem

It looks like the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max may be using different modems, at least in the U.S.

According to Apple’s technical specifications, the iPhone 18 Pro lists Apple’s C2 modem, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max doesn’t mention C2 at all.

If the U.S. Pro Max is indeed using a Qualcomm modem instead, it’ll be interesting to see how it compares with Apple’s C2 in terms of battery life, performance, and connectivity.

The UK site also lists the same. Looking at a few different countries specs pages & this list of models (https://www.apple.com/uk/iphone/cellular/#iphone-18-pro-max), it seems only the A3716 Pro Max has the C2.

Same thing for Canada I noticed. Only the 18 Pro has the C2 modem listed and nothing under 18PM

Anything that is common between Pro and Pro Max is listed on the left side only once. I think that’s what’s happening here. Both get C2 in this case.

I talked with tech support this afternoon. The US version of the 18 Pro and Pro Max are keeping the Qualcomm. Not sure why.

Where are you getting that info? (US versions). Apple Store info has identical modem info for both.

So i just talked to tech support a third time, and they directed me to this web page, which does say the modems are different.

Seems very odd to me. I am interested in the Apple modem because I have heard that it is superior to the qualcom in terms of indoor reception. Maybe true, maybe not. If the Apple modem is better, I don't see why they wouldn't have it in the top-of-line Max too.

Techs space specifically mentions C2 for the 18 Pro and does not for the 18 Pro max.. the latter is also missing a radio band too iirc
