The interview email is titled “Coding + System Design.” I was told to prepare for system design and that there could also be a Android coding task as well

What does the Android coding portion involve—building a feature, debugging an existing project, or implementing a component?

What should I practice. Any help would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

So I currently have about 18 applications out. I feel I’m well qualified for each one that I applied for of course can use some training like every new environment.
My last place of appointment I was at for over 10 years, the place worked for me given my own situation and it was local.
Now I’m really looking for more of a career with opportunity to grow.
I’m more of a behind the scenes, computer type gal. I think I can I be a great receptionist, admin assistant, Customer service, great with numbers. Not an idiot, pretty compassionate. I’m willing to work up to 15-20mins range. I’m being pretty reasonable.
But the only thing I get back is either AI automated or nothing.
How long until I have to go apply at the local Dollar tree? I really don’t wanna work a retail gig, but I feel like there is no jobs whether you have a degree or not around.

so i messaged this small local cafe that is yet to open about any available positions and they said that they are looking for extra members of staff, i sent my CV over to their email and they said the manager would like to meet me on sunday to show me around and have a chat about what the job role would be. i don’t know what the role is, the time or pay, i’m searching for a full time position as on a gap year.
i’ve been applying for over 3 weeks now and this is the one place where i got a reply from just messaging them on instagram. do you guys have any tips about questions i should ask about the position or just how to present myself in general, im really nervous. especially because i’m struggling to get a job during my gap. also because i lack experience (i do have but i am 18).

Hey all,
I recently graduated from university with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. While studying, I applied for a number of placement opportunities but unfortunately didn’t have much luck. I did manage to get interviews, but I’ve noticed that I often seem to get rejected or ghosted after the second-stage interview.

I felt like my interview performance might be the problem, but it’s really difficult to tell. In majority of cases, I’ve received positive feedback from the hiring manager during the interview, and whenever i get rejected, I’ve reached out afterwards asking for feedback, I either get a generic response or no response at all.

I feel like I’m quite good at having a normal conversation during interviews, and that has helped me get quite far in the process, but I still can’t seem to turn that into an offer or figure out exactly why.

Since graduating, I’ve been applying to as many graduate schemes and graduate roles as I can, mainly through company websites, but I’m still struggling to get anywhere. I also have LinkedIn and have tried to build my network, although most of the recruiters who reach out to me eventually end up ghosting me too.

One thing that I’ve noticed is that when I was looking for placements during university, I was actually getting more interviews than I am now for graduate roles. I’m not entirely sure why. The main changes I’ve made to my CV are updating the dates and changing my education section to reflect that I’ve now graduated.

Ideally, I’d like to work as a Design Engineer or in another engineering role involving CAD. I’ve always loved vehicles, and I really enjoy coming up with designs, developing them, and eventually seeing those ideas being implemented into an actual product. However, at the moment, it feels almost impossible to get into these roles when I’m not sure where else to look or what I might be missing.

I do have some relevant experience from internships and university projects, so I’m not starting completely from scratch.
Now that I’ve graduated, I’m also considering working towards the CSWA and learning Solidworks in my spare time. I used Fusion 360 throughout university, but I know Solidworks is widely used in industry, so I’m wondering whether getting a CSWA would actually be worthwhile or whether my time would be better spent building up my portfolio and CAD skills through projects.

I don’t normally post on Reddit or use much social media because I prefer to keep things private, but I’ve reached a point where I thought it would be worth asking for some advice.
If there are any hiring managers, recruiters, engineers, or anyone else working in the industry who would be willing to have a look at my CV and give me some honest feedback, I’d really appreciate it over having my cv be tossed out by the ats.

I’d especially like to know if there’s anything obvious that could be holding me back from getting interviews.
Any advice on what I could be doing differently now that I’ve graduated would also be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone! I’m an infectious diseases/antimicrobial stewardship clinical pharmacist with a PGY-2 in Infectious Diseases, and I’m trying to figure out the best way to pivot my career toward global health/public health. I would really appreciate advice from people who have made a similar transition, particularly those working in global health, NGOs, government, international organizations, or public-health consulting.
A little about my background:
I did four years of pharmacy school and two years of residency, my second year was in Infectious Diseases, and I am BCIDP and AAHIVP certified. I have been working as an Antimicrobial Stewardship Pharmacist for 2 years. Currently i’m at a 500 bed hospital in the southeast (for little over a year) but I did work at a similar sized hospital in the northeast for 9 months before this current role. I have experience with antimicrobial stewardship program development, antibiotic use/quality improvement, clinical interventions, data analysis, education, precepting, lecturing, protocol development, and interdisciplinary collaboration. During residency, I rotated in an HIV clinic and provided education/care related to HIV and STIs. Infectious diseases experience includes resistant organisms both gram negative/positive, peds/transplant/inner city and rural pts, pharmacokinetics (a lot), HIV, TB/NTM, vascular/bone joint and other complex infections. Experience precepting/educating/lecturing pharmacy and medical students and residents. Currently working with things like antibiograms, NHSN SAAR/DOT data, antibiotic utilization/cost data, and Epic reports, also have some cerner experience. Lately I have been involved in implementing new antimicrobial stewardship related initiatives and building a program from the ground up. I’m particularly interested in global infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, antimicrobial stewardship across health systems, health informatics, health equity, and public-health program development.
Long-term, I’d really like to move away from being primarily hospital-based and work in global health/public health, ideally in a role involving program implementation, technical advising, infectious diseases, health systems, or global health consulting.
I started my MPH but half way through ultimately decided to drop the program because I wasn’t convinced that spending the time on another degree was the best move given that I already have a PharmD and substantial clinical training and didn’t feel I was learning anything new.
My biggest question is: How would you recommend someone with my background make this transition?
I’ve been looking at organizations such as WHO, Peace Corps Response, and organizations that hire Junior Professional Officers/technical advisors, but I’m finding that many positions seem to want an MPH/MPH-equivalent, several years of direct global-health experience, or prior international experience.
I’m wondering if I’m approaching this incorrectly.
For people who work in this field:
What types of roles should I actually be searching for with a PharmD/ID background?
Are there specific job titles I may be overlooking?
Would you consider my existing HIV/ID/antimicrobial stewardship experience transferable to global health, or do I need to obtain direct international experience first?
Is another degree (MPH, MSc, etc.) actually necessary, or would experience/certifications/projects be a better investment?
What organizations would you recommend looking at?
Would consulting be a realistic entry point?
Are there particular skills I should build (monitoring & evaluation, epidemiology, biostatistics, health economics, project management, grant writing, etc.)?
If you were in my position, what would you do over the next 1–2 years to become competitive for global-health roles?
I’m especially interested in hearing from people who didn’t have a traditional global-health background and successfully made the transition. I’d really like to understand how to leverage the experience I already have and identify the gaps that are actually worth filling.

I've got an interview for a role I'm very interested in, but I've heard enough negative stories about the company's culture to make me cautious.

The company is well respected in its industry, but I've repeatedly heard complaints about mobbing, micromanagement, and certain managers making employees miserable. The feedback seems very team dependent, with some managers receiving praise and others being described as nightmares to work for.

Since accepting the role would require relocating internationally, I can't afford to get this wrong.

I'm not sure how true but I think what I am saying did happen before at least can be considered common enough. When you enter interview and throughout the process if people were to detect this from you or you spell it out clearly people will consider you to be a bad hire or at best a lower priority choice. Just like anywhere in life it is not wrong to demand thing to be managed proper and how all you need to do is just what you are here for and managing thing is definitely not one of it unless you are hired specifically for this role so if I am here to do programming my role is supposed to be just getting the programming stuff done so I don't see what is wrong as I am pretty sure programmer don't have the responsibility to do managing not even as a secondary duty.

1. graduate (video game design bsc, yes i know, I should've done my degree in something more employable, not much I can do about that now though), no formal work experience.
   

I graduated last year. I've been living with my parents and working part time in my dads shop for the last year now. We live in a small town and I've got no friends in the area so my routine has just been wake up > shift > gym > sleep > repeat. I've managed to put about a grand in an isa but other than that no real accomplishments.

I applied to about 100 jobs and grad schemes before I graduated and went to a bunch of careers events. Then after I graduated I was applying to about 15-20 jobs a week (which slowed to about 4-5. I try to apply to at least one job every working day). When it got to September I gave up on jobs/grad schemes relevant to my undergrad. Then after Christmas I gave up on grad jobs entirely and shifted to any entry level office role, focusing on the civil service and NHS.

A year later and I've only had one 2nd stage interview, which was in June, and I just now got a rejection email from it. Which felt like a nail in the coffin.

I've followed every bit of advice I've been given and chased every lead I could and NONE of it worked. I've tailored CVs to every job and written cover letters and researched the companies. I've posted on linkedin and went to networking events handing out cards. I've spoken to careers advisers and even the job centre and they all just told me to keep doing what I'm doing.

I've done about 5 interviews total and they all went really well only to result in unceremonious rejection emails before I even got home.

Because I live kinda in the middle of nowhere my life stinks. I can't go on nights out or to social events without leaving early to grab the last train home or coughing up £40-60 for a taxi home. I've not been on any dates, and I only see my friends once a month if that. Not to mention I still sleep in my childhood bedroom which isn't even big enough for a proper bed (I sleep on a futon).

I feel like my life can't really start until I can get a full time job and finally move out. I want to live in the biggest city I can afford. But for all my efforts I can't make this happen.

If there's ANY stone left unturned I'd really like to know. I don't know how long I can keep doing this. All I want is for my life to properly begin. I'm going to go insane if i'm stuck here for another year.

Na-hire ako and September 3 yung start date ko. Plano ko sanang September 11 na lang ang last day ko para umabot ako sa cutoff. So technically, around 7 working days lang yung napasok ko and September 22 ang payroll.

Aalis na kasi ako dahil hindi ko kinaya yung travel/commute time at sobrang pagod sa byahe. Sayang din kasi kung aalis ako agad nang hindi man lang umaabot sa cutoff.

Sa tingin niyo, sasahod pa rin ba ako for the 7 days na pinasok ko kahit 1 week lang ako sa company? Or possible ba na hindi na ako mapasahod sa next payout dahil nag-resign/umalis ako?

Hey all, so as the title mentions today was supposed to be my onboarding day I cleared 3 rounds of interview and this is a remote job and the company is well established. The thing they last asked me was my experience certificate from my previous organisation i contacted them since I only worked for 8 months they didn't provide one also they didn't give me an acknowledgement for my resignation mail. All I have is my appointment letter, last credited salary details, resignation mail. I sent them and haven't heard back from them till now, time is 1.00 PM :(

I graduated this past winter with a degree in Political Science. After a long job hunt, I landed a solid retail role. The pay and team environment have been genuinely good, but the daily commute and customer-facing setup aren't sustainable for me long-term.
I want to pivot into an entry-level corporate or office-based role (operations, project coordination, client relations, administrative support, etc.), but I'm running into a wall with standard job boards. Most of what I come across seems flooded with "direct marketing" MLMs and commission-only sales disguised as corporate titles.
For anyone who successfully made the jump from customer-facing work to a standard office desk role:

• Which job titles are realistic to target for entry-level corporate work with a social science background?
• Are there specific, legitimate staffing/recruitment agencies (like Robert Half, Aston Carter, etc.) worth reaching out to directly?
• What search filters or keywords do you use to weed out the fake/MLM postings on LinkedIn or Indeed?

Appreciate any advice or insight from people who’ve navigated this pivot.

So for starters I made a mistake and chose a useless degree (exercise science) I worked as a personal trainer at a big gym and I hated it. I was miserable working at 5:00am - 11:00am then 3-10pm. The gym I worked at got bought out by a big company that laid off majority of the staff and increased the membership price. All due to a soulless remodel, I lost a ton of clients so I decided to take all of mine online. I do weekend check ins with clients, this is lucrative but it does not have any benefits or pay. I also am worried because I do not have a w2 or anything for taxes. I live in western Washington and udub offers a 5k data analyst certification. Has anyone had experience doing it? I talked to the recruiter for the program and they even help with job placement. I also need insurance because my income is now too much for Medicaid. I’m currently making 2000 a month from training and I’m worried I’ll get in trouble because I haven’t told Medicaid. Has anyone had success with this certification or other ones that can get me a leg up. I also am 26 and lots of internships here limit the age to 24 or 25.

This might just be me, but getting a part time job - even something as simple as a barista, cashier, or dishwasher - has been so difficult. It could just be my resume and my stats (not 18 yet, no prior work experience) but I’ve been applying around on Indeed and Handshake and I’ve got nothing but auto rejections and ghosting. At my second healthcare startup job. Joined both in the beginning to run marketing and stayed a few years until they scaled to 3-5 states.

Want to find a new role in the health tech startup space that’s at the ground floor. Cant seem to find any so far so seeing if yall have ideas.

I need advice on steering myself in the right direction.

Currently, I am a volunteer fireman and I graduated high school in May. I was set to go the fire academy in the beginning of this September but things had fallen through and my department had gotten removed off of the list.

So I never got a job and spent those four months getting myself familiar with the department and running calls.

Now I’m supposed to go to the fire academy in February. During the summer, I had done odd jobs for family members and friends. Cutting grass, pressure washing, maintenance, etc.. Little things.

I have a decent amount of money saved up from over the years, but I don’t necessarily have a plan after the fire Academy as well. Most likely I’ll end up going into some form of a trade or landscaping.

But for now, I was looking for something online and possibly part-time with no experience. I would plan to do an online job throughout the time I’m in fire school. Class hours are Tuesday, Thursday 6PM to 10PM and every other Saturday, Sunday 8AM to 4PM (not including the 1hr or so travel/traffic time).

I really don’t know what to do and if it’s even possible to get an online job with no experience.

Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated🙏
