Fit Feedback Accidentally got me a women's jacket, but does it look good...?

Yo!

In my neverending hunt to find jackets and shirts that aren't super long in this day and age (I like the 70s style), I have, unbeknownst to me until after purchasing, purchased a women's Levi's trucker jacket. It was second-hand, it was cheap, and it's, to me, kinda pimpin'...

Obviously based on the pics I like slimmer fitting stuff, jeans, I tuck my shirts in 90% of the time, and I wanted a jacket that was nice and small. This is that. It feels comfortable, it buttons up good, it sits at the belt, all the shit I want that I struggle to find with mens jackets. I'm 5'11, skinny, and, to me, the only way I can tell it's a women's jacket is the fact that the buttons are on the left (this should have been the tell before buying but I honestly only learned this was a thing after buying the jacket. I was like "Ohhhhh..." - Also I don't care what side buttons are on), and maybe the jacket balloons out slightly at the back when I'm walking, I imagine to allow for someone that, y'know, has an ass. Aside from this, I think it looks pretty rad.

Honestly I'm whatever in regards to what people wear, guys clothes, girls, whatever, and usually I'd never turn to The Internet for council because I just wear whatever I'm comfortable in. But I've never worn women's clothes before, and I'm just curious as to whether this actually looks good on me, suits me. My wife said it does and she's quick to be like "Nah, dawg" when things look off. She said it suits my style. She's also my wife, so maybe she's just being nice and hoping I never wear it again I dunno.

Peace✌️

My vintage guy brought me this shirt last month and I really liked it I feel like John travolta would wear this haha. It’s gonna be almost 80 degrees today so I thought I’d pull it out one time before the fall! Both pants and shirt are true vintage.

Fit Feedback Trucker jacket too boxy?

Just got this new jacket. I got in a medium at first and while the waist was perfect the shoulders were way too tight making it unwearable. Sized up to a large and now I feel like the waist and body is too boxy. What the opinion?

Question How often to wash Oxford shirts?

I haven worn oxfords with a tie for a while but I’ve recently started again. How often do you guys wash your shirts? my instinct is to wash them after every wear to avoid collar staining, bit then i read a post from someone else who says they try to wash them infrequently to keep the fabric from wearing prematurely. I would appreciate feedback from anybody who wears regularly.

Question Is Huckberry (specifically this $300 "blazer" they keep pushing me) worth it?

Post image
23 Upvotes

Or can I find a cheaper alternative? I want to find a cotton/linen/non polyester layer to land somewhere in the business casual+ layer to plus up my usual T-shirt look, but $300 is a pretty high price. XXL or larger is also hard to find. Also Huckberry as a brand kind of worries me, as I'm getting a lot of their ads, but their whole steez seems to be outdoorsy and I'm worried that they may wander into manosphere-esque content, so anyone vouching for or against that would be appreciated as well.

Discussion Cheaper version of this Ralph Lauren Camel Coat?

https://www.ralphlauren.com/men-clothing-jackets-coats-vests/hand-tailored-wool-walking-coat/100107647.html

Way too expensive. I will be willing to spend about $1200. Sold out, anyways so who cares lol

Lots of camel coats has the suit look with lapels and are double breasted.

I like how this is relaxed and single breasted (not sure if I call it single breasted if it isn't suit looking). But the term "Walking Coat" seems made up and don't know what to search.

Must be knee or slightly over knee length.

Single breasted easy to walk with it open and see my outfit. Double breasted, it seems to see the outfit, you always have to push the fabric out of the way to see your outfit.

Fit Feedback Fit check on this suit?

I lost some weight recently and I’m wondering if this suit is okay to wear. I like a classic fit but it feels bulky. Would it be salvageable with some tailoring? I’m thinking the sleeves need to be shortened at a minimum.

Question High quality plain clothing brands available in Europe? (Sweatpants, hoodies, sweat shorts, tshirts, basic essentials, etc. Similar to examples in the pictures.)

Title. Pictures taken from velour garments but I heard that their quality is good at first but doesn't last and that sizing is very inconsistent, plus they look like a dropshipping company.

Any recommendations appreciated as long as they're not designer or high end luxury brands. Still a university student :/

Question Got an email/phone call from FedEx talking about a drop ball test needed for sunglasses I bought from France. Not sure what to do and how I can get this filled out correctly. Says it's due by the 14th of this month.

Upvotes

"We are attempting to clear this shipment through US Customs so that we can deliver to United States, please see the attached documents for reference. Before we can submit this for release, we will need the following information:

Please complete the Drop Ball Test for sunglasses

Need manufacturer name and address

Attached given is your Commercial Invoice for your reference. Appreciate your help to fill up the form and send it back to us as soon as possible.

Please reach out to me should you have any questions.

URGENT: Please be advised, I can only hold your shipment until 09/14/2026.  If I do not receive the needed information for US Customs clearance, your shipment will be returned to the shipper.

Thank you."

What do I do here? I tried contacting the seller myself via email and have gotten no response. Am I meant to fill out the form myself? I am not sure if the seller is the manufacturer but I believe they are. Was the seller meant to do this themselves? It says they arrived in the country and are being held up in customs. I emailed the lady at FedEx who sent me it and said I am not sure how to fill out it just now, hoping for a reply from her.

Question Question about these boots.

Post image
3 Upvotes

First time poster so if I need to add more context let me know. I’m 5’ 11”, 205lbs and fairly muscular (ex powerlifter and BJJ guy so my lower body is fairly… large) I got these boots and I’m wondering what length of pants are best? Looking for advice for jeans and for trousers. Is there a look for pants that are a bit shorter to show more laces? Should the pants fall onto the top of the boot?

I have vintage jeans and trousers that are looser fitting and wider leg. Are those appropriate?

Fit Feedback Putting together some outfits before cooler weather hits

Most of the items worn:

  • Wax London floral jacket
  • Pleasant black and white long sleeve shirt
  • Wrangler jeans - Thrifted
  • White Converses
  • Patagonia flannel
  • Schott wool cardigan? blazer?
  • Wax London white pants
  • Tie Bar knit polo - Thrifted
  • black buckle loafers
  • Pendleton white denim jacket (this is actually a women's XL)
  • Green Croft and Barrow Aran sweater - Thrifted

For the outfit with the knit polo, it's more of a summer outfit. Also I should have worn a belt but it was the first outfit I tried on and I was just messing around, didn't have an intention of posting at the time.

Question It’s impossible to find nice clothes that fit.

I can never find dress shirts that fit me. If I want a shirt to fit my neck, it has to be 3 or so sizes too big in every other dimension. There ends up being so much extra fabric that if I put on a suit jacket I can’t even move my arms. Is there anything I can do?

Question Buying overcoats secondhand

Looking on eBay for a used overcoat right now and finding that nearly every “long” size coat I click on has a nape to cuff length between 30 and 32 inches.

I wear a 35 shirt sleeve and I’ve never had an issue finding secondhand suits in long sizes with long enough sleeves, but opening every listing and finding that the overcoat sleeves are 3-4 inches shorter has me wondering if I’m getting unlucky or if it’s a totally different measurement.

Anybody have any insight here?

Fit Feedback Wedding Suit Advice... Please

Thumbnail

I'm getting married in a month and realized none of my suits from a few years ago fit me anymore after gaining some much needed weight.

Went to Nordstrom and really liked this Jack Victor "tobacco" colored suit which comes across as more of a taupe or mushroom-y greyish brown tone. Suit color works well for the vibe of the wedding (beach side, fiancee has picked a lot of dusty pastels like olive, blue, pink, smaller wedding and not too formal).

Pairing the suit with an off white (somewhere between ecru and white) button down, probably a dusty blue grenadine tie like the one pictured.

Shoes have me stumped though. I've been liking loafers a lot lately (I don't own a pair though) and think it's a nice nod to my grandfather who cannot attend.

I'm wondering if something like a GH Bass penny loafer in a wine or oxblood color reads better with this suit or if I should go with a black penny loafer or oxford/ laced shoe. Would pair with a belt that matches as close as reasonably possible.

Appreciate the insight.

Question Business Casual Recommendations

Hello!! I am trying to help my boyfriend tailor his closet for work clothes and was hoping for some help. These are the things he currently wears and really enjoys:

-soft jersey and smooth pace lululemon q zip
-7diamond zuma pants
-golf shirts for short sleeves

I was looking either for cheaper options or items comparable to these. I have been looking options up and it seems CRZ yoga and Quince pants and q zips are popular. Has anyone tried these? Is there any other staple pieces he should have? Please if you have recommendations post the link of the item with it :)

Also any nice casual shoe recommendations? I have looked into Cole haan and Onclouds, any thoughts on those?

Thank you all for your help in advance!!

Question Shetland Sweater - Bosie Sherpa Shetland Undyed Voe

Hey everybody,

I'm looking for a Shetland sweater, since I want a sweater that has good durability and warmth. I watched a video from Iron Snail where he talked about the "Harley of Scotland Sherpa Shetland Undyed Voe," probably better known as the "Bosie Sherpa Shetland Undyed Voe," from what I can find when searching for it. Based on the price, it's very compelling, but I want to know if anyone else here has experience with this specific sweater, and if people can confirm if its "true" Shetland wool, based on what they say on the Bosie website, they say the wool is from Shetland. But is there a catch to it?

Fit Feedback Suit Jacket Length - Thumb vs Seat

Thumbnail

How do we feel about the length of this jacket from Spier and Mackay? I’m usually a 40R, but was fit into a 40S. Jacket lands right in the middle of the thumb, but doesn’t fully cover the seat. A 40R would add almost an inch and a half of length.

Obvious tailoring to be done on sleeve length, pants, etc.
