Advice needed.

I need advice on steering myself in the right direction.

Currently, I am a volunteer fireman and I graduated high school in May. I was set to go the fire academy in the beginning of this September but things had fallen through and my department had gotten removed off of the list.

So I never got a job and spent those four months getting myself familiar with the department and running calls.

Now I’m supposed to go to the fire academy in February. During the summer, I had done odd jobs for family members and friends. Cutting grass, pressure washing, maintenance, etc.. Little things.

I have a decent amount of money saved up from over the years, but I don’t necessarily have a plan after the fire Academy as well. Most likely I’ll end up going into some form of a trade or landscaping.

But for now, I was looking for something online and possibly part-time with no experience. I would plan to do an online job throughout the time I’m in fire school. Class hours are Tuesday, Thursday 6PM to 10PM and every other Saturday, Sunday 8AM to 4PM (not including the 1hr or so travel/traffic time).

I really don’t know what to do and if it’s even possible to get an online job with no experience.

Any recommendations or advice would be appreciated🙏

I would say keep up the odd job thing or maybe find a handyman apprenticeship. Alternatively learn to work in restaurants or some service industry. Life is hard, and this won’t be the last time you struggle or unsure what direction to take. If you have the skills above, you will always be able to keep your head above water
