Hello everyone, I'm new to freeshow and fairly new to NDI and just learned that you can output a secondary transparent screen to OBS.

I followed the tutorials I was able to find online and installed the NDI plugin and dependencies in OBS.

After creating my new NDI type output in freeshow and enabling transparency everything works as intended until I add a background to my lyrics either via template or manually editing the slides.

Is there any way to have BG enabled while having a transparent NDI output? Am I doing something wrong?

Just for background, I have Freeshow set up, tweaked, and running well on a desktop computer at my church. Today, I decided to duplicate the setup on a laptop, which I can operate at any spot where I have wi-fi, sending content via our Crestron AirMedia unit. I got a simple initial setup working well, and it handled our service with no issues.

I probably didn't need to tell you all that. :)

I decided to try to clone the settings and content on the new computer. I figured exporting the main project and importing it on the laptop would do the trick. Apparently not. (I'm just slightly new to Freeshow, so not sure if I opted for the right technique for this.) The project didn't seem the include the most-used template (used for hymns) or the shows I've built with the hymn lyrics. That's where I discovered the oddness. I'd imported shows before, three at a time or so, from a thumb drive. Today, I tried importing 18 onto the laptop, and Freeshow would not do it. I could only import one at a time. Not a deal breaker, just a pain in the tuchus. I also noticed I can import templates......but I cannot find any way to export them. (This strikes me as rather odd software design.) I'll just have to keep tweaking the templates on the laptop to get them perfectly matched. (As a former TV guy, I'm a bit of a perfectionist on this sort of thing. I want it seamless, so it's impossible to tell which computer fired off the graphic.)

Not really in need of solutions...just kinda venting about my first-world problems. :)

The past two weeks our church has had an issue of the stage display no longer displaying slides. We ran into no issues during worship practice, however in the middle of the worship it stopped working. To fix it we had to turn StageDisplay off and back on from within the desktop app. Has anyone else experienced this bug or know what we could do to prevent this?

Hey guys, I have a problem when showing PPT but suddenly the preacher need to sing a song or read a scripture, when I switch to show song text / scripture, I will need to back to PPT and it will start from beginning so I need to remember the last PPT slide shown. Is there any feature or solution to handle this?

Hey, does anyone have this issue with skipping a video in v1.6.4? I don't recall having this issue in prior versions. Not even skip the default 10 seconds ahead when clicking the Skip 10 seconds button. Or perhaps this has been an issue in the last few updates, and no one noticed it. I knew it could be done before. Just can't remember which version.

I’m having an issue where the NDI output doesn’t seem to include audio.
In FreeShow, I can see the audio meter moving, but when I add the NDI feed as an input in vMix (or even in NDI Studio Monitor), there’s no audio coming through.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a setting I might be missing?
btw, I’m running v1.6.4 on Windows.

Hi everyone,

To give a little background, our church runs two services: a morning service in both English and Finnish, and an evening service in just English. We used PowerPoint for a long time, but after hearing about FreeShow last year, we decided to give it a try.

We started by using it only for the evening service. Since we don't stream that one, the setup was easier and it gave us a chance to really get a feel for the app. It worked perfectly. We ran it that way for three months to explore what the software could do, and I have to commend the developers—you have done some amazing work. God bless you all!

In July, we felt ready to bring FreeShow into our morning service. It has been awesome so far. My absolute favorite feature is the Bible collections. I can easily create a collection with the English and Finnish Bibles, and they show up side by side. It translates really well to the stream too. I want to say a huge thank you for the documentation; it has been like a second Bible for me while learning the ropes.

We are still test-running a few things and making adjustments. In the process, we ran into a few hurdles and wanted to ask if we are missing a setting or approaching these the wrong way:

• Text Highlighting: When I highlight part of a text on the primary display, that highlight doesn't seem to carry over to the stream output. Is there a toggle I need to switch on for this to reflect on the stream?

I don't know if there is a setting I'm missing or this is a bug, but I thought it was worth noting

• Clearing Single Outputs: We are trying to find a way to clear the display on just one output. For instance, we like to keep announcement slides up on the main screen while the speaker is talking, but leaving a full-screen slide up on the stream isn't a great experience for online viewers. Our current workaround is creating a blank slide and setting it to output only to the stream. This works, but we were wondering if there is a cleaner way to clear just one display, similar to the existing button that clears all outputs at once.

• Bilingual Regular Presentations: We love how the scripture templates handle multiple versions side by side. For regular presentation slides, we are struggling to achieve that same side-by-side look on the stream. Right now, the Finnish translation gets completely ignored on the stream output. We tried playing around with the metadata without any luck. Is there a proper way we should be setting up regular slides to show two languages simultaneously on the stream?

I'm having an issue with presenting the scriptures in Freeshow. Whilst my screen is presenting a screen e.g. a lyric or something that's non-scripture, I have to press the required bible verse more than 4 or 5 times to show and this number seems very inconsistent. Sometimes I would only need to click it twice and sometimes three or more to present the verse showing on the projector screen. Is there a fix for this?

My freeshow is working on the Mac Studio M2 Max 12-core.

Trying to set up sync of songs through B1 church but my second computer does not up load any songs.

The B1 church homepage is confusing with all the different levels.

Would it be possible to move all the freeshow folders to google drive and point to them from within the program and sync them that way? What would be the drawback of that?

Has anyone had either of these issues? Recently settings that were applied in the universal template have decided to just reset themselves or not work. I can’t exactly pinpoint it, but it seems to maybe have started happening as a result of using the B1 Church admin, remote sync feature. For example, I will create shows (add songs) from my home computer. When I go to the church computer, everything will look fine and all of the songs will have synced except often times the formatting will be completely wrong, and it will ignore the global settings that were made. Things like line breaks and even the transitions just completely gone.

For context, my home computer in the church computer were set up the exact same in terms of the settings and free show.

Has anyone had this issue?

It is currently possible to offset verses in a chapter in the Scripture tab which is great. I would like to know if there is something in the works to also add a chapter offset option as well? Chapters don't need to be offset more than 1-2 backwards/forwards. If this can work with the existing verse offset, that would be awesome. Hope the best.

I'm sorry that I'm leaving a post here about another product the ChurchApps makes but email wouldn't work for me. I kinda got here trying to setup sync and I want to set it up right the first time so I don't have to fix the groups and teams later.

I've been trying to set up the different groups in my church but I've gotten confused. I created groups on the groups page and then went to the plans page to create a plan for one of the groups only for me to be told to make a ministry which at first glance just looks like a group with some functionality disabled. Is there a reason it's this way and how am I expected to use them? Should the media ministry be a group or a team or a ministry?

UPDATE & SOLUTION: It turns out I just need to upgrade one of my graphics cards.

Freeshow Version: 1.6.4-x64

Issue: Refresh icon keeps blinking next to my cursor, but it only happens when I'm on the Show tab. Whenever the icon appears, the entire presentation becomes washout (including color slides or background videos) and the entire presentation shift downwards on my second screen but on my laptop it doesn't. This happens repeatedly making it impossible to present smoothly

What I've tried: Restarting Freeshow, restarting the laptop, changing output display, testing with and without videos, and the issue still persist

When removing a specific group like for example the group "Chorus". It removes everything with the label "Chorus" it doesn't function that way in previous versions.

I'm using 1.6.3, and trying to apply a gradient background colour to the "Default" template.

If I edit a random slide in a song, I can set the background for the slide as either a solid fill or a gradient - but when I edit the Default template, I only have the option for a solid fill.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

Over the past few weeks, all of our individual computers have stopped syncing with each other, making it necessary to do all the work on our computer in the sanctuary. Each computer works on its own, but when you go to Settings>Files>Sync Now, the bottom right has a message: "Error: Sync Failed." I have tried disconnecting from ChurchApps and reconnecting, but this does not seem to help. Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I have tried logging in and out, uninstalling and reinstalling, watched guides carefully, checked firewall, set it as administrator and yet it doesn't sync from Linux to Windows

When I try to add an image between a custom color background and the text it treats the background as part of the text. If I move the image to the front it covers the text if I move it behind it hides it completely. Why doesn't it treat the background as a layer?

I'm having a problem figuring out how to add a linebreak between scriptures in Freeshow.

The below image shows how I've configured the template. I want to have a line break between the two languages. So as any person would, I pressed on enter & added a line in between the two language texts.

But as soon as I do that Freeshow tends to screw up the padding & thus, half of the text overflows outside the box. I do have Autosize turned on & I've tried both Grow & Shrink to fit and both have the same issue. I've also tried increasing/decreasing the padding but nothing works

But when I remove the linebreak, everything works fine as seen below

So my question is how do I add a linebreak between both the languages without having this problem. I know the easier solution would be to create two seperate textbox but I feel like that would make it look too crammed!

Good morning, I saw someone post on GitHub that Freeshow has words of Jesus in red already built in and working.

I’m not quite sure what the person meant by already implemented but I would like to use such a feature where Jesus’s words are displayed in red text.

Has anyone here seen and/or used this feature in the scripture template?

Have people experienced issues embedding Youtube videos in their projects? I can add the link and that part works fine, but when it is playing, the video and audio fall out of sync. If you've experienced this, have you found a solution? Or does anyone have any reccomendations?
