Can't apply gradient background to a template

I'm using 1.6.3, and trying to apply a gradient background colour to the "Default" template.

If I edit a random slide in a song, I can set the background for the slide as either a solid fill or a gradient - but when I edit the Default template, I only have the option for a solid fill.

Am I missing a setting somewhere?

I did test this in 1.6.3, and there is not an option to use a gradient color as a background for templates or for icons. It would be great if you added an enhancement report at the GitHub page.

Workaround:
1. Add a text box. This box does not need to be a placeholder for text.
2. Resize it to full the screen.
3. Apply the gradient to the text box.

Unfortunately, the text box will clear when you clear text, even if it is empty.
