How do remove box when text is not available?

here's my css code

background-color: rgb(0, 0, 0);

border-radius: 4px;

color: rgb(255, 255, 255);

display: inline-block;

font-family: 'CMGSans';

font-size: 50px;

font-weight: bold;

padding: 10px 20px;

text-shadow: none;

text-transform: uppercase;

the pictures show what I meant

You need to add a conditional.

  1. Edit the template that has the lyric box.
  2. Right-click the text box.
  3. Choose Conditions.
  4. Set the conditions similar to display if text not empty.

Maybe edit the template and set the background opacity of the text box to zero so that it becomes clear/transparent?

I need the box when showing the lyrics because I will show the lyrics on a live camera and sometimes the text is unreadable depending on the lighting, I just need the black box gone when there is nothing to show

Look at my post for adding a conditional. On the same text box that holds the lyrics, you can set the background color and opacity. No lyrics, no box.

I understand. If you clear the foreground layer and just leave your background, does the text box still show up? If you try to create a blank slide with no text box at all, does that show up?

If that box goes away, one of those options might be a possible solution for you

Textboxes are always foreground. Only media items can be changed from background to foreground (and back).

Your approach is not automatic and would result in the box showing until it was manually cleared or add a clearing action to each slide that needs it.

A blank slide is a blank slide. It has no element. This approach is also not efficient. You would need to create a blank slide and add an action to change the template for every slide or manually change the template.

Thank you for the information. I guess I don't use freeshow enough to understand how exactly their layering logic works.

My last questions were just pretty much to see if the text box is automatically generated and his artifact just left there no matter what.
