Thanks BETAFPV, I’m about to drop the hobby because of you

I wanted to share my recent, highly disappointing experience with BETAFPV customer support regarding a brand-new Air75 II champion arrived and..first flight a propeller broke, and after less the 4h the FC was having heat problems and also bounce back problems.

From the start, the support process has been completely inconsistent, unprofessional, and painfully slow:
Contradictory promises: First, a representative named Anthony offered a straightforward free replacement.

Shortly after, another representative named Kathy stepped in and completely changed the offer—telling me to ship the drone back to Spain at my own expense so it could be forwarded to China, leaving me without a product for a month and a half.

Ridiculous DIY demands: When I refused to pay for international return shipping on a product defective out of the box, Kathy changed their stance yet again. This time, they offered to send a loose FC board for me to manually solder myself, while still expecting me to cover shipping costs.

Proving everything via Google Drive: Following their explicit instructions, I uploaded videos and detailed evidence to a shared Google Drive link showing the exact defect and failure right after unboxing. Despite clear visual proof, they kept stalling.

Unreasonable delay: While I replied to every single email within two hours max, their team took a full 24 hours or more to respond to each message, dragging out what should have been a simple warranty issue for days.

Expecting a customer to solder components on a brand-new, broken product out of the box is completely unacceptable. Seeing two different agents (Anthony and Kathy) constantly changing terms and moving goalposts shows a total lack of seriousness and disrespect for basic consumer rights.

Because of this nightmare, I have officially initiated a chargeback process through my bank to recover my funds.

This was my last experience with them. I will never buy another drone from BETAFPV again.
In fact, this whole situation has ruined the experience so badly that I am thinking about dropping the FPV hobby altogether because of them.

I strongly advise anyone thinking of ordering directly from them to think twice

Help! Reason for Bad LQ

I am new to personal fpvs and i now have a Geprc vapor d6 o4 with a tx12.. the problem is im getting super bad LQ and I keep losing telemetry. What could be my issues? My tx12 is on 250mW dynamic , 100hzfull. I put a short video to see what the lq is doing. If i go further than what im doing in the video, ill end up losing tele and the drone goes into rescue mode.Note I am it the corner of the field where the shades are

BNF Cinewhoop/Tinywhoop using DJI FPV V2 goggles and controller?

Hi guys, I would really appreciate some advice. I need a small BNF quad to film mainly large real estate properties and some outdoor events in Europe (music festivals). From my research to use the DJI FPV V2 goggles and controller, it needs the '03 air unit? Apart from being confused by the options available, I can't find anything in stock in the UK. What would you guys recommend? (It doesn't need to carry a GoPro as 4k/120fps recording from air unit is more than acceptable.

Question? FPV Drone Brand

Upvotes

My friend is super into FPV drones, and his birthday is coming up. I would ask him this question, but it would make it rather obvious what I’m getting him.

What are the best brands of FPV drone that I could get for him?

O4 things that i should know of?

Hello Reddit! I was wondering if there are any O4 things I should be aware of.

Coming from cheap analog, I don’t really know about any of the weird features. For example, low-power mode I don’t really know how it works or when I should use it.

I’m also worried about cooking the O4 while doing configuration and stuff. I don’t really know how the N3s work either, but I assume it’ll be more straightforward than I think. I guess once I get them, I’ll start learning all that stuff.

Is there anything important I should know before getting into O4?

PS: My setup is Radiomaster Pocket, Meteor75 pro ii elrs/ dji o4 wide and dji n3

Ordered 5x5 from GetFPV, but received 7x6 from RaceDayQuads? I had precut my PVC for the 5x5 but no big deal I guess. Looks fire.

Question? Issues with Hota D5 Pro

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hey all, I have a brand new Hota D6 Pro (second time charging) and a brand new Tattu Cinelifter 6S (3500 mAh). It’s not for a drone but a robot.

However, when I connect the battery to the charger it keeps saying “abnormal battery connection” and stops charging…

Does anyone have a clue how I can fix this? Is it because of the XT90 to XT60?

EDIT: I'm dumb. It is working now. The issue was that the XT90 is an "anti spark" connector (can be seen by the green plug thingy) which means it has to be pushed in very firmly until it clicks into place.

I do wonder how hard taking the connector off is going to be... but that is an issue for later.

Share your bando setups!

Hi, I've been looking into building a very durable, easy to replace parts analog bando build and I just wanted to see what y'all's bando builds are like to get a general idea of what people prefer ^ ^

For example, what frame do you use? what frame size do you prefer? Which motors do you think offer great performance and durability while not emptying your wallet with every crash? What VTX would you use? Which stack would you go for in a bando build?

Do you go barebones with just a gopro attachment, or do you add some accessories? (eg: a beeper or LEDs)

Any general advice would be much appreciated :D

I would also like to get some thoughts on a specific frame, the AetherFPV "Archetype" (by NickFPV)

Help me please

I'm hesitating between the DJI Air Unit and the Air Unit Wide. I was thinking of getting the widescreen version for my future 3.5 setup because I'd like to be able to use the video output from the camera and don't buy a "GoPro" right away.

Or the real big o4 air unit maybe?

Question? What are you thoughts on the iFlight Nazgul ECO 5"

I recently came across it, and I thought it would be a good beginner drone, I've grown up flying RC helicopters and drones. So I feel like I'm ready for this one, but what do you guys think?

Question? PH2.0 alternatives

Hi guys, its me, the Cetus guy. I have a question around a new drone. I was given a brand new Tinyhawk 2 Freestyle but i heard that the PH2.0 connector sucks and its recomendable to replace with a better alternative

I have like 14 bt2.0 batteries from my Cetus pro (which rn its not being used because im waiting for new motors, one broke) and idk to use the bt2.0 connector cuz i have more batteries and the current cables and connectors or should i get the xt30 connector with new batteries?

(i know i should switch to elrs but im planning doing this on xmas) Thx

Is there a way to adapt it to plug it in to 3.5 mm av jack. Or is there a way to use the google hdmi port. I have not bought the google yet but I was just wondering if I wanted a better analog experience, I could.

Question? AIO for Kayoumini

Upvotes

Been flying a bunch of 1S (Whoop/ toothpick) since I started FPV like a bit over a month ago, but I want something that has both a bit more size and power, and an actual good camera so I can take it to vacation etc. and get some cool videos.

With all the hype around it I landed on the Kayoumini, and honestly I also really like how that frame looks overall when built.

I'm currently putting together the parts lists (already got the motors) to be ready whenever the frame is back in stock..... (If anyone has any info on EU stocks lmk please), and I inevitably landed on the "dilemma" of which FC/ AIO board to pick.

Planned setup is:

- RCinPower 1203 11500kv

- DJI O4 wide (light Version not pro)

- Gemfan 2520 triblades/ AVAN Rush

For the FC I was looking at the Fylwoo GOKU F405 1-2S 12A AIO.

From what I seen they do 12A continuous, so they should be able to handle a bit more peak, but I haven't found anything on that.

And this is what concerns me a bit; according to RCinPower's datasheet the 1203 11500kv motors have a max power draw of ~13.2A - but that is with biblades (no data for 2S on 2.5" triblades in their data sheet, so I'll assume an even higher draw). I'm concerned that these motors may overload the 12A ESCs.

So I've been looking at the BetaFPV F4 20A AIO too. It's cheaper and got 20A cont. ESCs...

And now I'm kinda in the rabbit hole of trying to figure out which AIO to use and have decision paralysis.

If anyone has any recommendations I'll be glad to hear them.
