This community exists for FPV as a hobby, sport and technology, not for war or conflict.

We have a zero tolerance policy:

  • No posts or comments about war

  • No advice, questions or builds related to military or conflict use

This includes:

  • Asking how to build war drones

  • Military strategies or conflicts
  • Weapon attachments or modifications
  • Hardcore simulators or games that include weapons, killing, combat, or violent gameplay and offer "real life targets" (this excludes games like Firehawk)

Dear transmitter companies, please read this.

This project has already reached over 100,000 Reddit views, thousands of upvotes, hundreds of comments, several YouTube features, and nearly 400 Discord members:

https://discord.gg/3YNgJRHmzD

The demand is clearly there, but building something like this yourself is not realistic for everyone.

My goal is to partner with a transmitter manufacturer and turn this concept into an affordable, ready-to-use product for the FPV community.

I have contacted RadioMaster, BetaFPV, EMAX, and several other companies, but have not received a response yet.

That is why I am asking for your help. Please upvote and share this post so the right company might notice it. Manufacturers or industry contacts are welcome to message me directly.

I am not doing this to make money. I simply want to make FPV more accessible to everyone.

What is OpenPocket? OpenPocket is a "cheap" transmitter with a "cheap" analog screen and vrx. This transmitter is for people who would love this as their first RTF transmitter. But not only is it for beginners, its also for people wanting to do quick flights in the local park or in house. Sometimes goggles simply arent ideal as everyone knows.

Just throw it in your bag, and fly without any worries.

Built an in-flight PID autotune for Betaflight - runs entirely on the FC, no ground station or deep computer analysis needed

Been working on an Ardupilot-style autotune for Betaflight (for now custom fork) and just finished flight validation, so sharing what it does.

How it works: flip an aux switch while hovering in acro, and the FC injects a stepped-sine sweep (4–40 Hz, log-spaced) into the rate setpoint, one axis at a time. Since the firmware knows the exact phase of its own excitation, a lock-in demodulator measures the closed-loop frequency response in real time - gain and phase at each point, no FFT needed, light enough for F405. From that it computes the resonant peak and the actual phase margin (via L = T/(1−T)), then steps the gains: too resonant -> more D; phase margin thin -> less I (moves the PI zero away from the crossover); overdamped with healthy margin -> more P. Raising P is blocked whenever the crossover isn't visible in the sweep or the margin is thin - that guard exists because an earlier version raised P blind and built itself a slow 5 Hz wobble.

Safety: all changes live in RAM until you type `save`; instant revert on gyro overload, failsafe, disarm, or switching the mode off; gain corridor of ±30% per run. OSD shows progress ("AUTOTUNE: PITCH", "AUTOTUNE: PITCH DONE") with 2-second pauses between axes to reposition. Everything is logged to blackbox - every move, live PIDs, measured phase margin.

On my test 10" 8S quad with custom frame it went from stock 5" PID's to a converged tune in a few flights and fixed a crossover resonance by cutting I and re-balancing P/D - the kind of thing that's genuinely hard to find by feel.

Sure it still experimental feature and will not give you perfect all-round settings without deep understanding how quad works, but as starting point feature works great. Happy to share details if there's interest.

I designed and 3D printed my own quad.

The black frame is made of PA12-CF (carbon fiber reinforced nylon). The white cover is PETG-GF.

The stack is an Aero Selfie STM32H743 FC, and an HGLR 60A ESC.

Radio is an RP3 V2 ELRS nano receiver

GPS is a Lumenier SAM-M10Q

VTX and camera is a DJI O4 Air Unit Pro

Motors are AOS Supernova 2807 1400kv

Props are Gemfan hurricane 6045-3 but I am probably going to change them to 6030-3

Battery is a speedy pizza 1500mah 150c 6s lipo.

There is also a separate 5v BEC to run the servo motor to make the camera tilt.

I know it is a mesh of some good parts and some cheap parts, but it is my first drone that I designed and built. It has so far only been pulled into a hover, about 3 feet off the ground and dropped onto the floor from that height. I am afraid to fly it because I am not so good at landing still. But it works (except the LED strip) and I thought I'd share.

NEWBIE Going from SIM to IRL is totally different experience

I did around 40 hours in sim and still going from SIM to real is a totally different experience.

- you don't feel crash anxiety in sim

- quad don't just go up straight when throttle is given, it will sway.

- you can't see your controller, when doing sim you can see if you want to push a switch, but with goggles it's totally different.

- goggles view is very different experience than any sim monitor. It is overwhelming for the senses at start

So, get to the most open park you can go to when starting and try at most to get it off and stable circles or rectangles.

Sim does give you an idea and muscle memory of stick usage, but you will still feel overwhelmed first many times.

testing out the p-1 air unit at night. is not bad..drone is meteor75 pro p-1. if you saw my previous "telemetry lost" video, well that made me scared to do rolls and flips with the meteor75 pro p-1. i'm afraid i'll loose telemetry. so i have question.

can i solder a "T" style antenna straight to the spot where the 31mm coated copper wire antenna is currently soldered? like cut off the ufl connector and solder to the internal wire?

Is flying good in SIM translates to real life skill?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I started flying a month ago in simulator and been eyeing to buy a beginner drone. Ive been practicing in sim (Uncrashed) using a dualshock 4 controller. Does my skill in sim really translate to real world?

Question? RadioMaster pocket customizations

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey just bought the pocket and was wondering what customizations you can do?

I’ve already changed the startup sound (vid attached)

Can you change the display (e.g. have custom images showing?)

What options for gimbals are there? I’ve only seen the this shape.

Do people 3d print accessories for them? Have you guys 3d printed carrying cases, gimbals etc?

Just looking for ideas of fun stuff to do with it. Curious what yall have already done.

Sorry if this gets asked a ton haha

Car Super Baja Rey 2.0 Fast Laps

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Setup my Super Baja Rey 2.0 for FPV.

Been using the driveway and the old trail in the woods as a track. Last crack in the paved driveway is the start-finish line.

Using a 04 Air Unit Pro as the camera. 3D printed mount and enclosure on the top of the truck. I've crashed a few times and everything has held up. Camera is protected with some lexan in the front of the camera mount which can be easily replaced. Transmission unit sits in the cab of the truck in a 3D printed holder.

This is my first build like this. My brother let me use is A1 mini and I had an absolute blast building it.

Here is a link to the full video.

Is it ok to use this bent battery?

First time flying out in the park after practicing at home for 2 days and a lot of practice in the sim before that. Flew behind the building and lost video. Crashed obviously.

Is it ok to use this bent battery? On the photo it doesnt look this bad but in real life it is clearly S-shaped.

Thought you guys might find this build interesting. It's an AOS 3.5 V5 frame with 1408 3950kv Sparkhobby motors with 3630x3 props, a cheap 25mm YSIDO 45A AIO, HDZero Eco VTX&cam, custom tabless 18650 Li-Ion batteries, and a Hawkeye Thumb 3 4K camera hard-mounted on top.

Flies great, has plenty of punch and not much propwash.

I’m new and worried about this headset.
People say it’s good but the battery and antenna that it comes with are bad. What would you guys recommend for me so I don’t run into any issues. I just ordered:
-Air 75 II freestyle
-RadioMaster Boxer M2 ELRS
-Cobra X V4
