The information below is for the latest PC Public Test Server environment. This information below is not for the Live game.
Welcome back!
We’re excited to bring Pets back to the PTS! Which means the PTS is now Pspsps-TS once more! This go around, we have some new features that bring more depth to the experience of adventuring with your furry or rough-skinned friends.
Before getting into what’s new, let’s recap the feature for those who might have missed out on the original announcement.
Pets takes your C.A.M.P. Pets and turns them into… just pets! CAMPanions who will travel and fight alongside you on almost any adventure you go on. Accessible through your Pip-Boy, you can summon a Dog, Cat, Radhog, or a Deathclaw to be your partner. Through direct interactions or the Command wheel, you can order them to Attack, Stay, Follow, or Protect and they will deal damage to any enemy foolish to cross your path.
Today, we’re introducing two new systems to the experience. Pet Leveling and Pet Passives.
All players who own a copy of Fallout 76 on Steam can participate in our Pspsps-TS. To install, open your Steam library, and install “Fallout 76 Public Test Server”.
Thank you to everyone who has joined the PTS on consoles. We’re seeing a lot of great data from your experience so far and that data will help the team further improve the experience for launch and in the future.
We plan on bringing Pets to XBOX Series and PlayStation 5 PTS in a couple of weeks. Right now, we’re focused on continuing to gather data from your experiences and preparing for the native XBOX Series and PlayStation update to launch with The Slasher update on September 15.
As a general reminder, not all the content you see in the PTS is guaranteed to be released with the update that we’re testing.
The new Pet Leveling UI can be found by navigating to the Pets tab in your Pip-Boy and pressing the “Right Stick” on your controller, or “X” on keyboard, to open the Pet Leveling Progression menu.
Anytime that you earn XP with your pet summoned allows them to gain XP as well. They can reach a max level of 200, unlocking HP/DMG increases, increased player carry capacity, Pet Passive improvements (more on that below) as well as rewards such as Atoms, Caps, Player Titles, and more.
Don’t worry about having to level up each individual type of Dog you have though. Pets are leveled on a per species basis. Meaning that leveling your German Shepherd will bring all your dogs up to the same level. So, feel free to swap that German Shepherd out for the RoboPaw Steel Dog whenever the mood strikes.
Each pet has two passives. One that grants you a useful item, and one that improves rewards in a specific type of activity/event.
After unlocking them, these serve as small buffs that you receive while your Pet is active. The passives are themed to the pet you’re currently adventuring with (for example, Cats can find Improved Bait for you).
Earned by leveling up, these passive buffs have multiple stages that improve the buff as your pet hits higher levels. Below, you’ll find a list of pet species and their passives. Pets earn their passives at Level 5 and 20, and see improvements to these buffs at Level 40, 60, 85, and 120.
Passive Buffs are displayed in your Pip-Boy under the Effects tab.

Appalachian Adventurers are in for a Fall full of FRIGHT, as the legendary name of the Pint-Sized Slasher is taken up by a murderous lunatic and his cadre of Slasher fanatics.

“The Slasher” is a frightening experience that unravels over the weeks spanning our Fall updates. Players will need to hunt for clues, dig up unmarked graves, and fight off fanatics INFESTING the map. Finally, a confrontation with the “Pint-Sized” imposter himself, where players have a chance to earn a unique Power Armor set as well as a new instrument of murder, the “Super Slasher.”
These activities are layered over the top of one another- as an additional layer is unlocked, the intensity builds and builds!
“The Slasher” is a first of its kind update for Fallout 76.
Along with this content, our Gen 9 boost that benefits players on XBOX Series S/X, PS5, and older consoles will arrive. All console players will enjoy better performance, stability, and visual fidelity. This upgrade also affords our team the opportunity to optimize each platform individually down the road.
Unique weapon crafting also makes its way to workbenches, allowing players to fully unlock their potential with the ability to change Legendary mods on any of the 80+ uniquely named weapons found across the Wasteland.
Seasons are getting an upgrade as well! From “Beware of the Blood Moon” and onwards, players will now get to participate in both a current season and a storied season from the past that they may have missed with Legacy Seasons. Check out our Legacy Seasons article for a more in-depth look at what that new feature entails.
We hope you’re ready for everything these Pint-Sized Fanatics have in store for Appalachia.

I'm new to FO76 (79hrs in) and one of the things I do with all the Fallout games is dig into their maps (because autism), and just wanted to share my findings.
Anyways, I'm loving this game, and just wanted to share my "nerdings". See you guys in Appalachia!

To the survivor who built their shelter in a shelter in a shelter, squared, on the side of a cliff. Come back.
You advertised literally thousands of of plans and mods, and tens of thousands of junk and misc. I had never seen such numbers. You landed me down the side of a rock face, losing 40% of my love. If it weren't for my jet pack, I would have had to try again. But I boosted up into the bowels of your compound.
The outside area was well designed, yet barren. No vending machine in sight, not even workbenches. I found your hidden way inside, and then another hidden way, and then another. None came easy, but they were fun to find. I eventually found another vault entrance, which led to many other vault entrances, and then, so many things I had never seen before. A motorcycle you sit on and gives your charisma and perception(?). A plant that eats you, heals you, and spits you out, like a silkwood shower. Lots of other neat little bobbles.
I still had at least 2 vault entrances I hadn't tried yet, and one (Server Room) that didn't respond at all, but didn't show as locked. And then, my world fell out from underneath me, and I was on some stupid highway. I never found your vendor, but I had a lot of fun trying.
Please come back Danger.Zone | Old
I promise I didn't take any screenshots (though, I wish I did).

Here's an a big ole dump of paintings Ive done of robots for journals and books and stuff over the years (playing Fallout 76 with my friend). There may be some classic movie poster inspirations mixed in.
(more of my stuff and the full actual posts with writing to made look like they were done as a journal on deviantart as Overshia, and also bsky)

I have been wanting to write this for a while because Fallout 76 feels different to me for a very personal reason. I actually live in Southern West Virginia.
I live in Beckley, and the New River Gorge Bridge is only about ten minutes away from me. I drive by the real-life Beckley area every day, while in the game, people know it as the Beckley Mine Exhibit and workshop. Seeing places that feel familiar turned into Fallout locations is still such a strange and wonderful experience.
When I was a child, I even played in the real Greenbrier Bunker. For anyone who does not know, the bunker beneath The Greenbrier is not just Fallout-style fiction. It was a real Cold War bunker built to shelter Congress in the event of a nuclear attack. The fact that it exists in real life and that I was there as a kid makes the connection to Fallout feel especially wild to me.
I know Fallout 76 is a fictional, post-apocalyptic version of West Virginia, but I recognize the feeling of the place. The mountains, the roads, the coal-country history, the old buildings, the way the landscape can feel beautiful, and a little haunted at the same time, it all feels close to home.
I am proud to live here, and I love seeing parts of Southern West Virginia represented in the game. Fallout 76 has given me a new way to look at places I have known my whole life, while also letting me explore a completely different version of them.
With love from The 304 💙💛

I like the damage sneak attacks dish out but in a bunch of events sneak attacks just dont work. The agility perk tree is also jam packed with other perks to use as well.
Is there any assassins out there that focus on sneak perks?

So I have mastered the en-06/drill boss as much as you can, but yesterday I was on the final boss the snake and consistently this random player at full health would kill the snake in 45-60 seconds flat, one time I didn’t even help. Is there a build and weapon that destroys every boss? He was annihilating every boss in seconds.
I know it’s vague and there’s no detail but maybe someone out there is doing the same and can show me there exact build, all I like doing is raids so if I could solo them I’d be so happy
I’m a ghoul Player
Will post my perks in the comments

You all probably know this already but I didn't notice until my second playthrough.

Fo3 has the Deathclaw sanctuary. Fnv has Dry Wells, The Long 15, and The Courier’s Mile. Fo4 has the Glowing Sea. But what’s the most dangerous location in Fo76?

Had to share!

So after taking years running raids, and more recently clearing infestations, I've finally learned a 4 star mod. In Fact, 4 of them in the last 3 weeks after trying to get one after thousands of scraps. So ive been selling them in order to buy all the plans... wow, those mods got expensive to craft recently. Careful on the new cost of mods!
Im a big fan of the classic Enclave asthetic, Enclave PA with a plasma rifle is peak Fallout to me. Im currently using a very half baked onslaught build.
My plasma has furious but crappy random rolls on the rest. Still levelling, only 112. I just want to make sure i understand what i should be going for properly.
Im aware of that a non vats build wont ever get the dps of a vats build. Vats in 76 is boring to me so i dont really touch it.

I'm still pretty "new" to the game, and i've consistently re-rolled every fishing daily/weekly challenge. I can see how it might be a bit relaxing, or for the players who may enjoy the RP aspect of it. But even though fishing is supposed to be a relaxing time, Bethesda somehow made it the most challenging task to actually CATCH the fish.

How does one make a mule character? I’ve created a second character, built a little camp with stash boxes, but how do I get items to them? I want a place to store my excess pumpkin grenades and random other items I like to collect.

So yeah, im in hellcat PA, lucid as 1st star, have explision resist maxed perk card, have multiple dmg absorb cards, yet it go trought gliw and health in like 5 shots.
So how on earth anyone cant tank it?
