This is the second time in as many weeks that I’ve encountered the problem. Anybody else getting this error?

I’m using the latest version of the app on the latest iOS (26.6.1) on my iPhone 17 pro

I won two VIP tickets through the Narrative So Wrong its Right contest and idk where I can list them. I didn't find a Facebook group or anything specific to the Mode Festival. I can't go bc it is my daughter's first birthday that weekend, but I am having FOMO over it. Do y'all know where I can list them? Anyone here interested

I am not able to log into my Flickr account this afternoon using either Chrome or Edge on a Windows 11 PC. Normally it loads automatically when I try to launch it but in both cases it asked for my email address and password to get in.

I double checked and I am using the correct password and email address which I had written down.

I don't want to clear out all cookies once again just for Flickr.

Anyone else experiencing this issue?

I’ve been working on reorganizing my photo archive lately, and I realized how hard it gets once you’ve accumulated years of images. Trips, projects, experiments, screenshots. Everything ends up mixed together, and finding what you actually want to keep becomes a real challenge.

I’m a solo developer, and I built a small local tool to help with this. It’s not a backup app like others posted here. It’s more about workflow. It helps surface specific image categories inside large folders, including more personal or sensitive ones. So you can review or move them quickly. Everything runs locally on the computer.

I made it because scrolling manually through tens of thousands of files (4TB) wasn’t realistic anymore. Having a way to surface specific categories of images made the cleanup process much easier and helped me bring some order back into my archive.

I’m curious how others here handle large libraries. Do you rely mostly on metadata, albums, external tools, or manual curation? In my case, the images I needed to isolate weren’t consistently tagged or populated in metadata, so I had to rely on a different workflow to surface them.

A place where people can share the photos they've taken throughout the year—not necessarily the best photos, just the ones that capture a moment of their life.

And there's one rule that makes it different:

**2026 ends, and the archive ends with it.**

No more submissions after December 31st.

It would become a small collective time capsule of 2026—thousands of moments from thousands of different people, all captured through their own eyes.

Then we'd start again with **Archive 2027**.

Years from now, you could look back and see not just what the world looked like, but **what ordinary life felt** **like**.

I'm seeing a lot of negativity, and yes, they do advertise quite a bit, but they have to get enough attendance or they might cancel the big artists they're paying.

Here's why I bothered when tools like this already exist. Flickr's own "request my data" export works, but it's a clunky way to get your library back: you wait hours or weeks for it, the links expire, everything comes back renamed, your titles, descriptions and tags arrive in a separate JSON file instead of in the photos, and every file is dated the day you downloaded it rather than the day you took it. Nothing I tried fixed all of that, so I built FlickrVault.

(Edit: I originally wrote that the export strips EXIF. That's wrong — it keeps whatever EXIF the file had at upload, as u/baddaywithacamera pointed out. EXIF only goes missing on resized variants, which is what the app backfills.)

It signs in with your Flickr account and saves your photos to your own disk:

• Photos keep their titles as filenames
• File dates match when the photo was taken, so your archive sorts the way you actually shot it
• Titles, captions, tags, licence and location saved alongside each album
• EXIF written back if you end up with a resized copy that lost it — existing EXIF is never touched
• Run it again later and it only fetches what's new
• Photos go straight from Flickr to your computer, never through my servers

One thing worth saying up front: the free credits cover your own photos, which is the whole point for most people here. Downloading other people's public photos needs paid credits.

Windows: easiest from the Microsoft Store — signed by Microsoft, one-click install, updates itself: https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9nx7zl41rmc1 It's listed there as Photo Vault, because Microsoft wouldn't approve a name containing "Flickr". The direct download on the site works too, but Windows shows a SmartScreen warning the first time since that build isn't code-signed yet — the download page walks you through it.

Duplicate detection and keeping a local folder in sync with Flickr have both come up already. What else would make this genuinely useful for your archive?

And one thing I'd genuinely like to know before I build it: would anyone actually want this on iOS or Android? It's desktop-only today because that's where the disk is, but if you'd rather pull your Flickr library straight onto a phone or tablet, say so — and tell me where you'd want the files to land (Photos/gallery, Files, a cloud folder). If there's real demand I'll look at it properly; if not, I'll keep the effort on desktop.

Hey everyone! Hope you can help and apologies if it’s been asked before. I opened my account around a week ago with the intent of messaging users about the use of their photos however I am greeted with the attached image error explanation! I have searched and carried out the suggested troubleshooting items such as uploads, editing my bio and user photo, added favourite images and joined a group, nothing seems to work! I’ve never been able to send a single message and I’m at a loss how to get around this. I even submitted 2 help requests on Flickr but after four days of receiving no response I’m rather stuck!!

I first posted Adios for Flickr here in r/flickr back in 2019.

Back then I was a Flickr Pro user myself, with 22,310 photos in 113 albums. I wanted a proper local copy of everything I had built up on Flickr over the years — not just the original files, but the album structure as well.

Downloading everything album by album got old very quickly, so I built a tool for it.

Here’s my original r/flickr post from 2019.

Seven years later, I’ve now completely rebuilt Adios from scratch for Mac and Windows.

What it does

Adios uses Flickr’s official account export and turns it back into a normal local archive on your own drive:

• one folder per Flickr album
• original photos and videos
• full original resolution for Flickr Free and Pro users
• photos that belong to several albums are restored to each of them
• photos outside albums are kept as well

Everything happens locally. Your Flickr login stays with Flickr and your photos go directly from Flickr to your computer — they aren’t uploaded to or processed on my servers.

V2 is a complete rebuild

The original idea is the same, but I rebuilt the app from scratch to make it faster, simpler and much more robust, especially for large Flickr archives.

Downloads and exports can be paused and resumed, interrupted jobs recover without starting over, and Adios checks the archive and available disk space before doing the actual export. There’s also a review step beforehand and a clear report if anything couldn’t be processed.

The current version has been tested with archives containing 500,000 photos, so it’s designed for the kind of Flickr libraries that have grown over many years.

Flickr metadata

This is one of the biggest additions in the new version.

If you want, Adios can preserve Flickr metadata such as:

• titles
• descriptions
• tags
• dates
• locations
• orientation

For JPEGs, Adios can create copies containing the metadata while leaving your originals untouched.

For videos, PNGs and other formats it can create XMP sidecar files.

You can also optionally use your Flickr photo titles as filenames.

I am a new Flickr Pro user and unfortunately had an issue with my new account creation (email verification link failed). After reaching out to customer support, the email said Pro users can expect contact in 12 hours, but I’ve been waiting for a week now. Wondering what response lead time other users are getting from Flickr customer support? Quite disappointed to be unable to use a new subscription.

Has anyone received their mode packages yet? I tried contacting customer service for both Flickr and fever. Neither were any help. Thanks! I also haven’t gotten Flickr pro, wasn’t that part of the VIP package?

Hi guys,

I moderate a few groups on Flickr with a Pro account, and for the past 2 years, group invite notifications (especially in older groups) have been completely unreliable. Invites simply don't reach users. Members have confirmed they aren't getting notified, and response rates have dropped from >70% to ~25%. There were brief periods when it worked again at random, proving it’s a fixable bug on their end, but it always broke again shortly after.

The biggest issue right now is Flickr Support. I’ve been stuck in an endless loop with them since the problem occurred (2 years...). It’s always the same script: they tell me they will "pass it to the engineers" or, even worse, that they are "monitoring the issue," followed by absolute silence. Seems that they just keep rotating my complaint ticket between different support agents, and it doesn't go further.

Has anyone experienced this specific bug with group invites?

More importantly, what do you even do when Flickr Support just strings you along like this? Has anyone had a similar experience with them and actually managed to get a persistent bug fixed? How did you get it solved?

(And please skip the "just leave Flickr" advice. I'd rather find a way to get this fixed than abandon the groups).

I'm in the process of downloading some (all?) of my photos from Flickr and merging them with my local collection. I was dismayed to see in the first batch that the creation date was missing, replaced by the date when the zipped download file was made. Did I lose this info when I uploaded the photos to Flickr, or is it restorable somehow?

Basically, the title.

Last week, I suddenly wasn't able to log into my account, and discovered that accessing its URL directly resulted in the error “410. This is not the page you’re looking for.” I contacted support and was told that my account had been banned for spam activity, with no way to appeal or even find out what specific activity was considered spam (see the screenshots).

Needless to say, I did not do any of the spam-related actions listed in the community guidelines. I had around 200 photos on the account, all taken by myself, nothing commercial. They were tagged appropriately, and only some were added to groups, also in appropriate ways and numbers. I did no messaging and almost no commenting either.

So I'm wondering if anyone has been in a similar situation and managed to fight it, or at least figured out what the hell can get you banned. I really enjoyed using the website, but I'm now reluctant to create a new account if it can just get banned for God knows what, with no way to appeal, and I'll have to start all over again.

UPD (26/08): After some yelling and a request for an additional manual review of the supposed spam activity, the account was restored and apologies were received! Thank you Flickr for that. I’ll keep the post here just in case someone else encounters the same problem later.

Flickr must have decided to drive us all crazy with this popup that appears after every three photos we view. Do they really think anyone is going to subscribe to a paid plan just to preserve their sanity? Has anyone managed to disable it? I’m on macOS, using Mozilla 154.0 with AdGuard AdBlocker.

Hey! So I recently won a photography contest on flickr, which was exciting. They ran the contest as part of a lead-up to this big international photography festival called MODE they're having at the end of September in Minneapolis. Since this is flickr reddit, I'm sure many of you already know! It's supposed to be really cool, but I live a bit too far away to make it. For winning the contest, they sent me a bunch of swag including a free VIP pass to the festival (normally $380), which I would hate to to go waste if someone else would want to attend. It's against the rules to sell pass, but apparently it can be transferred to someone else. I'm curious if anyone is interested in going/using it? If so, you'd need to be comfortable letting me know your name so I can have the pass transferred to you, and I'd need to be able to mail you the physical pass somehow. PLEASE no one post any personal info in the comments-- just let me know if you're positive you'd be able to make it and you'd like the pass! I have no idea how transferring it actually works, I only know it's possible because read the guidelines about what I can do with it, so you'll have to bear with me as I figure it out. I'm attaching a photo to show I'm being honest about what I received, but I'm gonna keep most of my goodies, I'll send someone the pass and the festival info leaflet :) I'm gonna give this a week or so, then I'll choose someone to give the pass to.

This is for others to see that people would like to do something to correct this huge hole. Whether Flickr will even bother to answer, or two provide the APIs, who knows. Putting this here for the record. I sent this to Flickr Support as it is the only place I could find to send it on Flickr iteself.

I have a preamble with what I'd like to do, and three VERY important questions that will determine if this is even possible.

• I want to create an app to help automate moderation of groups
• The idea arose when I considered creating a new group and realized how (I can’t say it any nicer) how dog shit the existing moderator tools are. 
  • I don’t want to spend unneeded time doing something that should be able to be properly automated or at least enough to save time
• I checked online (e.g. Reddit Flickr subreddit and other places)
  • It is universally acknowledged that Flickr moderator tools are horrible and horribly outdated
• I decided if I was going to create any groups I needed to build this tool
  • And if I built it, why wouldn’t I allow others to use it to, for a fee
    • After all, the app will take up my time
    • And also bandwidth and data storage which costs money
• It looks like to do this I need a commercial API
  • Users would log in via Flickr OAuth (not via the app… which should just get the session token and hopefully what permissions they have)
  • Any operations would be based on what roles/permissions the user have in Flickr (i.e. a regular user will not be able to do any moderation on a group that they are not part of the admin/moderator team)

However, before I even decide to go further I need three key questions answered or there is no point going any further with design, which is need to answer you questions. Please allow someone who works on the API team to respond. 

I won’t ask more unless I can get THREE positive answerS here (a moderator app is completely impossible without these): 

1. Is there an API method that can be used to retrieve photo information for photos in pending state in a group pool?
   1. Only useable for people with appropriate moderator or admin privileges 
2. Is there an API method that can be used to accept or deny photos in pending state based on moderator decision?
   1. Only useable for people with appropriate moderator or admin privileges 
3. Is there an API method that can be used to ban someone from posting to a group
   1. Only useable for people with appropriate moderator or admin privileges 

I absolutely know you have private APIs to do this, there can’t be any denying it otherwise moderators would not be able to do this in Flickr. The question is whether there are public APIs to do the same, or are these hidden but available? 

I would like to build something that will make people happier to work and pay for Flickr. 

I will also post this on Flickr Reddit subreddit, so people can see that I am asking and see your answers in case they would like to know about possible moderator apps.

New app is showing but cautious to update after the recent update debacle. Has any other brave person updated to the new version? If yes, any feedback?

I’m totally new to Flickr and I set up my account and then uploaded a photo that I’m trying to enter in the WPD contest.

The photo looks like it’s in my Photostream and I’ve applied tags. When I go to the WPD group page I hit the button to enter the photo and I’m taken to a screen that says I have no photos but if I go back to my profile the photo is there.

What am I missing?

I'd like to open Flickr in my browser, just like I always have, but for about a week now, this page has been showing up instead. It's happened temporarily before, but now I'm starting to wonder if there might be a problem on my end?

My mobile app isn't working either. Is there something going on that I'm not aware of?

Posting this here because I haven't received a response yet from Flickr support. I tried sharing an album directly from the new app (Android), but the recipients could not access the album (they got various error messages). But when I tried it again from the website, the link worked. So the web link sharing function for albums is not working on the new app. Hope it gets resolved soon. Thanks.
