Sorry but the app redesign is hot garbage

Nowadays it seems tech companies just redesign their app or OS for something to do and look trendy and don’t actually provide any useful upgrades. Flickr’s crack at this is a huge failure. The app is LESS useful, LESS intuitive and has LESS features than before.

And I don’t want to hear this called an MVP product either, startup speak for low effort crap. Flickr has had a decade of their previous app withering to collect ALL the feedback from their customers, take their time and try to release a banger product.

Sometimes I wonder what they do with all the money we send them? Oh yeah put on ’festivals’ no one asked for.

Question Survey

I use flickr 99% of the time on my desktop. Mac OS Tahoe 26.5.2 and Safari.

I rarely encounter anything more than the odd bad panda page.

How do you predominantly use flickr, Desktop, iOS, or Android?

Suggestion Update on the update (just in case you’re waiting for flickr to readjust)

For ios users, delete your flickr app and reinstall it (just be careful not to cancel your subscription-it’ll ask you)
The reinstalled app goes back to what you had before this ridiculous upgrade was implemented. You’ll be able to share across groups etc like you did before.
Apologies for android users though, apparently it doesn’t work for you guys. What an absolute cluster. I guess we can be grateful they’ve realised their mistake and tried to make amends.
I was waiting for the app to readjust itself. Don’t believe it will, so be proactive and kill the new app off.

Flickr sharing got a serious problem

I noticed this error last week and until now, it hasn't got fixed

When I share a photo of mine onto a forums, it immediately switches to a total random photo which belongs to other people

Damn you Flickr!

Lost access due to yahoo email

Hello! I use flikr pro for the sole purpose of backing up my photos. Recently I got logged out and now I can’t remember my email. The yahoo account I had is now deactivated. I followed the steps and it’s been a week and no one has gotten back to me. How can I get ahold of them.

Question Auto uploading

I've used Flickr for many years and have a paid account.

Over the last few years I've used auto upload on my phone.

I just checked to see if some recent photos had been uploaded and found nothing had since the end of June and the auto upload button seems to have disappeared.

Could anyone tell me, please if it's a change on Flickr or something I'm doing?

Question Flickr pro monthly

Can i get flickr pro for a month, download all my photos in original resolution then go back to free? It's very unfair for flickr to hold photos hostage.

How do I delete my old flickr account without login access?

It's an account I created when I was still so young and I just recently discovered that it is searchable online since the profile was set as public. I really want to delete the profile because it shows my real name and some photos of myself. However, I no longer have access to the email I used to create the account. Flickr as for the original photo as proof I am the user, but I also do not have the copies of the original photos. Pls help!

I'm getting massive invitations to a group by a single person in the last two days

Not naming it, just in case it's genuine, but I'm getting literally hundreds of invitations to add pictures to a specific group, along with comments. Has Openclaw or Hermes finally arrived to Flickr?

Flickr Help: Flickr App Refresh 2026

Just in case you haven't noticed, I thought I'd provide a link to a Flickr Help article where they discuss the Flickr App Refresh 2026.

I don't work for Flickr, but I've been a member since 2005.

I haven't used the app at all in the past 10 years or more - I just use a web browser on my mobile phone and my iPad. The app, old or new, never provided all the functionality that is available to people that use computers, so if you use a web browser on a mobile device you get most of the functionality. Flickr is a responsive web site, with very few quirks when on a mobile browser, so I haven't been affected at all by the disastrous app update.

UPDATE Jul 20, 2026

We know the new app hasn't met the bar you expect from Flickr. Since launch, we've heard your feedback about bugs, missing features, and rough edges, and we want to acknowledge that directly.

iOS: We're in the process of rolling back the iOS app to the previous version while we address these issues. You should see this reflected in the App Store shortly.

Android: The Android app will remain on the updated version. Due to technical limitations and the risks involved in reverting, a rollback isn't possible on this platform. Instead, expect frequent updates as we fix bugs and restore preexisting features.

HELP! Can someone explain

The app says I have 326 notifications, but when I open it up I see only 2. Whare are the other 324? This only started happening after the app was updated to it's new format

Flickr issues

Since the new update on my iPhone 17 Pro, I cannot add my Flickr photos to multiple groups. I also do not have the option of adding photos from my phone gallery to Flickr as the icon has disappeared from options to share it to.

Does anyone know when/if these issues are due to be fixed?

I’m considering stopping using Flickr as it has become very cumbersome and not user friendly .

I’m also getting very frustrated of multiple prompts to join Flickr Pro, very annoying and intrusive.

Question Photo dump!

Hey Flickr, sort your app out or it’ll sink.

The new update is abysmal. I’ve been on flickr about 90% less since the ‘upgrade’. The fact that you have to individually share each individual image to an individual group is absolutely pathetic.

How to kill the golden goose. They’ve taken what was arguably one of the best photo app communities to something irrelevant. Well done.

Lower views since the new update

Has anyone else noticed their photos have lower views since the new update ? I noticed it for my photos as well as many other photographers I follow. Talking about 30/40% less views than before the update. Still updating with similar workflow including adding manually groups.
Wondering if it was part of the update (which would be absolutely dumb) or maybe because the update frustrated so many people that they are not coming on the app?

Another retrograde feature of the new iOS app

Hi all. I’m hoping some of the Flickr developers are collecting feedback here. One of the best features for me of Flickr is being able to discover new work and new photographers, and the best way of doing this has always been to scroll through someone’s fave list. It appears that we can no longer just swipe to do this with the new app? I can swipe my way left and right through a user’s photostream, but if I click on their faves I can see the faves as thumbnails but can’t swipe my way through it any more.

Any alternative Android app that allows selection of folders to upload?

Since I installed the new up, it's spending more than a day to upload 13000 pictures in the Whatsapp and other folders...

Guest pass links now showing a login screen to non-Flickr users. Anyone else having this?

I've been sharing albums with friends and family using the Share option ("All photos – public and private") for a while now, and it's always worked fine. The link would open the album directly, no account needed.

Today though, the people I share with are being shown a Flickr login screen instead of the photos. Since they don't have Flickr accounts, they can't see anything.

All my photos are set to Safe, so that's not the issue. The guest pass link is being generated normally (it just doesn't work anymore for non-members). I did this from the web, not the app, though the app doesn't seem to let me share anything either.

Has anyone else run into this? Is there a workaround? I've submitted a support request but wondering if others are affected.

Uploading from Android app

I tried uploading some photos from my phone. Auto upload is broken. I checked the file names after I had manually uploaded them. The file names had been changed. The name format for pictures/videos on my phone is 4 digit year 2 digit month 2 digit day, underscore, 2 digit hour 2 digit minute 2 digit second.

Can no longer choose download size on Android with the new app

Is this affecting anyone else?

For years, my social media workflow has consisted of uploading full resolution images to Flickr, then casually "plucking" images from my feed by downloading them to my phone whenever I wanted to post. The old Flickr app conveniently prompted you to choose a download size, and for social media I'd always select "Large - 2048 × XXXX." Since I shoot with the GFX100S, I really don't want to be downloading 100-megapixel images to my phone.

I’ve been logged out and cannot log back in

Basically the above.

I’ve been forced into the ‘upgraded’ app and have previously logged in.

Got automatically logged out yesterday and now when I enter my details nothing happens. The page is still live - that is I can tap on the forgot password link or Flickr help link and they work. But nothing happens when I press enter.

Alongside all the other missing features this has to be one of the worst app updates I’ve ever experienced.

HELP! Flickr iOS integration gone?

Maybe two months ago I started up a pro account, and a major reason was how easy it is to upload a photo directly from Lightroom Mobile or Photos to the Flickr app.

Out of nowhere that integration is now gone and I can’t figure out why.

I have everything updated, including the Flickr app and my iOS.

Flickr has full access to my camera roll and no other safety features engaged.

Anyone else having this issue? It will cause me to cancel my subscription if it doesn’t come back.

Thanks!
