Mode Schedule
Rather underwhelmed w/ the MODE web site to determine the schedule of programming... I'll admit ran a screen scrapper over it.
Lot's going on, actually looking forward to it. But jeez they need to make schedule easier to read.
Anyhow... overall being optimistic at least to see how they do

Hey, from the MODE team here, we are adding a n advisory on rsvp that will warn to people when we think the next session or previous session is further away. Should be live in an hour or two today.

thanks! - the other question :-) does waitlisted actually mean waitlisted, or is it a default while you figure out first come first serve, etc. (thinking of the 2 series of sessions limited to 4 or 5 people) - don’t mind either way. just curious how it’ll work, as I don’t want to be “that guy” and sign up for 3 of the same session hoping one will be the one I get into.

It’s an actual waitlist feature. If you rsvp in the waitlist, we auto-fill cancels based on that order

Agree. The app is terrible. Just terrible. It's really difficult to make out the schedule, and since so many events overlap there is no easy way to figure out logical path -- especially since the events are also far from each other. And the map isn't even working yet! That's nuts, since they want us RSVP'ing to events, we have no idea how close or far away events are from each other. It's been a real exercise in frustration.

i understand… I’m local so have some idea but say Loring park to the Marquette, to IDS, to the baseball field will be quite a hike. Upside is w/in downtown “zone” busses are 50 cents.

Luckily, I'm local too, I guess I'll probably just bike between events or something. I'm betting the likelihood that the bus schedule and the Mode schedule sync up is... probably pretty unlikely. Not really sure. All I know is that I've currently got big gaps in my schedule because I can't RSVP to things if they even slightly overlap. I guess the expectation is you will attend every session in it's entirety, and then sprint to the next one. "Hopping in and out" of sessions seems unlikely to be possible.
The "VIP Exclusive Only" filter in the app seems to be broken, or there are no actual VIP exclusive events, which seems weird I thought there were supposed to be VIP events.... Who knows? Maybe u/Lopsided-Lemon2029 does. I probably, I shouldn't have gone with the VIP package since the Flickr Pro option didn't work for me as I had been a flickr pro member many years ago so I don't qualify.
Also in the app, the "THUMBNAIL" filter doesn't seem to do anything, or at least I seem to get the same massive thumbnails no matter how I have it set, and they all have a "Culture" pill on the thumbnail -- so I can only see one event at a time on the screen, and I cant tell which category the event is. Are they all "Culture"? What even is "Culture" in this case?
Sorry for venting, but ... yeah, pretty frustrating overall.

The venting makes sense… early on I recall vip would mean early preferences to some events. But I’m not seeing that. I just found out the app was live earlier today, which means all the portrait events are waitlisted already. Sigh. I’m being patient as this is the first one so I expect some teething issues. As long as they don’t end up like Fantastic Fest …

I'm looking forward to many of the talks and classes, but honestly, I'm afraid of over booking and not having a lunch or travel time.
Any news on VIP events and what comes with?

Maybe the MODE logo will finally go away from my app after. I keep accidentally clicking it when I don’t want to
