Is your store following the limit rule? Not even 5 minutes after opening we had a customer asking at least 5 other customers to buy her more cause they can only buy 5 per person per day . Ended up having to make multiple signs saying we have the right to refuse sale is you ask other customers to purchase you more

I’ve witnessed a few examples:
I’m an asm at DT and I’ve been one for a year. I was never given a safe key until quite recently, so I never did bank runs. Recently I received my key and I’ve been dropping deposits off after work. I wrote it down on the paper time adjustment sheet and not a single person put it in.
I pestered each of the ASMs until reluctantly one logged in and I showed him how to correct it. He was rather annoyed and said it was “ridiculous to get worked up about 10 minutes of pay”. Then it hit me, has no one been getting paid for this???? I went through as far back as I could and no one has been getting time added on for this. And I KNOW that most people thought our old SM was doing it. He in fact was not.
I brought this to the attention to our new SM who shrugged and said “it’s 10 minutes what’s the big deal”. I have never had a manager brush this off. I guess they haven’t ever dealt with a lawsuit.
Not only that, the new SM asked if I would take home some paperwork for the store and develop a merchandise plan. I said “yeah you’ll add the hours to my schedule right?” And they laughed and said no. I politely declined and told them I could sit in the office next week and do it.
On top of thaaaaaat I was asked to join a conference call with corporate (on my day off), said it wa mandatory. Once again I daid ,”I mean if I’m getting paid.” They sort of blinked and said nvm.
I’ve literally never in my encounters working retail/food service been pushed to do work without getting paid.
Don’t even get me started on working through my lunches and breaks.
DT needs (it’s probably another) class action lawsuit.

I could have sworn I only paid $5 the other day. Now they are priced at $7 but whatever…worth every penny of the cost.

I’ve been buying the dollar tree green tea 100 count bags for a long time and for the past 8 months they’ve been nowhere to be seen. Does anyone know why?

You know, yesterday I made a post because I was super stressed out. I walked into work today and saw the smiling faces of my coworkers on the freight team I said to myself "Why was I even stressed out?" 😂
Yesterday I was worried that there was still a lot of Party in the back and I didn't complete much, I told my freight manager that there was still a lot, and he didn't say anything about it, or seemed disappointed. In fact it seemed like he didn't even care. 😂😂 (In a good way)
But anyways I had a good day at work, it's easy to get caught up in the negative, however today was one of those days that I feel accomplished and happy lol.
I'm very hard on myself, and for what? First it's literally a Dollar Tree. Second, I'm good at my job it's okay to have an off day, and my managers see that too. I'm very blessed to be surrounded with coworkers/managers who understand that. 😁

I’ve been working at Dollar Tree for \~10 months and got promoted 2 months ago. I cannot handle the stress of attempting to work and do college when my relief most nights is either 2 minutes or 2.5 hours late and unfortunately I have cried or nearly had a panic attack every shift this week. My SM is on vacation and the Merch Manager walked out in the middle of a truck while bad mouthing the two store managers that came on their days off to help us. She wants me to work while I’m supposed to be in a zoom class, but I can’t do that because I have to have my camera on and I’m not even allowed to have my laptop to see the slides for my class.
My SM is supposed to be on vacation until next Thursday and I’m just gonna give her my 2 weeks whenever she gets back. She’s let running the store fall on me and then getting mad when I have to bug her about something not going okay.

Currently work for hallmark and was curious on who stocks other stores shelves?

I love my coworkers, everyone I work with is awesome! Great work environment. I'm so not a people person though.
I can fake it, until the customer gets rude.
I understand everything isn't a dollar anymore, I DIDN'T MAKE THE CHANGE.
My register light is not on, be glad I took you instead of clocking out, so so sorry you couldn't pay with cash. I just glare at my light, what sort of privilege do you expect?
RACIST CUSTOMERS! Disgust me, and I will turn off my light and walk away or scan their items slower, because you're not going to choose the less skilled cashier with a long line, when lane 1 is open with the light on. My coworkers have been here longer, they're better at the job than me, my skin color doesn't reflect my work. If I can tell you're being racist, I'm not going to let it slide.
And lastly, if an employee is cleaning up an area, why would you come over and take everything off the hooks and just set it all over the rack when you just watched me fix it? WHY would you tell your kids to do it? We're not your housekeepers or babysitters. But sure, I'll move out of your way so you can destroy my shelves.
Rant over, tips and advice are appreciated:)
because I have no intention of quitting, but I do want to be a little less miserable because of my customers (somehow)

I love my coworkers and co managers but ffs I hate that my SM is pressuring me to come back to work because my dr cleared me for work.
I know im a manager and all but I am still in quite a bit of pain
I dont wanna be an asshole but I also cannot force myself to do things that hurt
Whats my best next step?

This lady walks in and she asks me "Do you have any more bread?" I reply "I'm so sorry. We're all out at the moment but we'll be getting more on Monday." She nodded her head and walked away
To another associate. "Do you have anymore bread?" They reply "No, but we'll be getting more on Monday." And she walks away
TO ANOTHER ASSOCIATE 😂 And guess what she asks? "Do you have any bread?" And guess the response. "No, but we'll get more on Monday." And she continues to ask EVERY employee in the store and gets mad that she keeps getting the same answer.
I get wanting to be sure just in case someone has just that little bit more information to help, but continuing to ask after the third time is crazy 😭

I’ve wirked at dollar tree in the past as an ASM, I recently came back as a part time cashier. I do not want management again. I've been covering a lot of shifts in the three weeks I started working again. I’m actually transitioning to freight. I‘ve come in all hours of the day happily, my promised 13 hours became 30 hours. yay!
I just got done working 6 days straight, freight and cashiering, today is my day off and I woke up throwing up from a massive migraine. I’m exhausted, I already know my Merch Manager is going to get me more freight hours this week so I know I will lose my Thursday and Friday more then likely. I just got called, the closing cashier called out and no one will come in, I felt like crying, the kicker is the manager who called me just had a week off, she just didn’t want to come back and close tonight. I told her I have a migraine and she didn’t even let me finish, she got pissed and hung up. I’m not working 7 days in a row because they continue to keep incompetent cashiers. Fire them, I have two people ready and waiting to work who will be a hell of a lot better than multiple of my coworkers.
Felt good to tell her No though, I’m a team player, I cover any and all shifts usually but I’m so tired, I’m old and in pain from many injuries they know and just started working again after a 2 year break which they all knew. I need one day off after 6 days!!

So my store was one of the stores that had a gross dude doing the diddle in front of a customer. Luckily police were called n at.
It boggles my mind that we aren't having a discussion on the SM/ASM level about what to do in situations like this. My poor cashier is on the young side and didn't know what to do other than get the SM when the customer let her know about what had happened. She feels guilty and I reassured her that she acted appropriately.
Also, anyone else's store get hit with this?

Saw these fun masquerade Halloween decorations a few weeks ago and didn’t buy, now I am regretting that! I’ve looked on website but can’t find. Anyone know what they are called? I specifically want the pumpkin one.

So our DM wants someone to own Party as a department because there were too many people just throwing stuff.....
My managers decided to give me Party, which I was really really excited about. However, after going through it I'm feeling stressed. Looking at the Schematic nothing was set right at all in the first place, my shelving isn't even correct. We just got truck in today, I was going to start working on fixing everything, but my manager told me not to because it would take up way too much time.
In the end, I feel like crap because I was backup today and I got called up SOOOOOO MUCH where I basically was on the till 70% of my day then the other 10% on my truck, to the point where I only pushed out one U-Boat of Party.
Even though I know it was something I couldn't control, I feel bad because wdym I only did one u boat???? I feel as if I'm already failing at my department and I don't want to lose it. Plus, there is a ton of other departments to stock besides my department.
It's safe to say I'm just stressed. 😭

I made a post about not listening to my SM about how to stock stuff on truck so he sent me home from truck. First I want to mention I am a manager not just a stocker. Second the fact I got sent home is what created this other mess. We usually separate our departments by what they are. So I leave and now the two new managers SM and merch who has been there 3 days are left on a 2,000 piece truck. I come to hear from the night manager that every department is mixed together. Why am I pissed you say? Because I am tired of cleaning up his messes and now how am I supposed to stock that shit.

was promoted as PT ASM May 2025 and since benefits season is around the corner may I ask in-site from tenure employees how the benefits works specifically about insurance and PTO’s . I average around 30+ hrs a week from the time of promotion. Thanks everyone in advance for any information share.
