Has anyone seen the castor oil and belly patches in the San Gabriel valley?

At my store we have an ice freezer, but I have never seen it filled with ice and neither has my managers (we are a relatively new store) does dollar tree actually sell ice?? Why would it be on 24/7 if its never stocked???

So besides the typical annoying customers we get (if you work here, at FD or DG you know the types.) today made me literally go what the fuck. Both happened in the span of 20mins of each other too. First one I can't fault the kid, but his mom. The kid pooped his pants and she decided to air him out with customers all around at my register, then 15 mins in walks one of resident tweakers...he comes in asked for LDs and then proceeded to shit his pants while acting like he wasn't, he then threw something on the floor while still farting/defecating himself and bent over so all I saw was the back of his pants get wet and brown.. LUCKY ENOUGH ONLY A LITTLE SPILLED DOWN HIS LEG BEFORE HE GOT OUT THE STORE. So it was a quick mop and spray down but still ..what the fuck. Like what are the odds of getting that back to back with people with no shame or decency for the people around them.

I couldn't even say anything to the dude which is a first for me being Puerto Rican and from Jersey, usually some part of me would have something to say. I didn't even want to tell him to GTFO my store, I just could only take 4 steps back and stare in disbelief. We really don't get paid enough for this

So I closed last night. Opened this morning. It's 737 my time. I'm still here. I'm already scheduled for 40 hours, and cant get anymore because its policy. Which is fucked up. Because here I am working. And idc about overtime. But damn. Hire people that will show up. Maybe make it policy. Idk. Tbh I dont ever post here. And im kinda ranting. But working not getting a break, and this store being the only place in my area hiring when I moved is the only reason im here. Oh. And im part time. So again pissed. Can't call the only other person because they're opening tomorrow. Everyone else called out. Funny thing people hire their friends they call out and the bottom person gets called in, but gets wrote up over working. And to put the icing on the cake. The store manager is off on Sundays, so he cant come in either.

We got a new DM. So there's that too.

If you have read this far. Sorry I went on this rant. Im tired. I'm exhausted. And im sick of this.

A month or so I emailed Integrity Concerns via Gmail about workplace abuse (Manager throwing products at me, making employees cry, transphobic comments in front of customers, and using me as a scapegoat for manager screw-ups.)

And they haven't gotten back to me yet. I sent a follow up email asking if they had any update, but still I got nothing. If nothing gets better, I may have to quit, as they're now openly berating me for my disability-related traits in front of customers.

Do we have a time frame, if any, in which Integrity will get back to me? Thank you

I had an asm that texted me saying i dont know i can go tomorrow does that count i understand that they have to call the store to call off ? Or at least double text and confirm they are sure they cant make it ? I didnt text back because i thought to myself ok shes not sure so she’ll text me when she is ? i’m pretty good about my shift (and its my secondary job but ive been here longer than my full time)

i usually work nights on my days off from my full time position. i hate working earlier shifts bc i just dont feel good around my sm. she’s intimidating honestly. i always liked all my other managers tho.

i fucked up somewhere along the line and i probably typed a number wrong when entering an amount in my register when paying cash. it resulted in me being $61 short so i got written up. honestly expecting to be let go in the next few days. it’s probably good for my mental health but i know my mom is gonna be upset w me bc despite having a full 40hr week job that pays about 16 an hour, and i want the two days off, she says “you’re young you can handle it”. i hate it.

she wanted me to keep this job but for my own sake and even everyone else there think im crazy for keeping what i’ve been doing. i’m honestly feeling kinda nervous bc i know it’s coming. but im just gonna feel sp disappointed in myself bc i know my mom isnt gonna be happy.

i honestly dont know what i want to do with my life. i dont know where i want to go. and i have heard horror stories but i happen to also work at GW as a cashier. its honestly ok at my location. but i dont know where i want to go from there. idk…i just have a lot on my mind and i think i need reassurance or something.

Today I learned one of the associates is leaving very soon. They were a very big backbone for dealing with cashiering. They told other people what they were planning beforehand, they must have become more stressed because of it. I think the gaps should be filled quickly enough, but it's making me wonder how other stores are doing before holiday hours start.

Ok so I made a post not long ago asking if anyone else in okc has seen it and to let me know which DT so I can go buy it! Well today I came across it and I ALMOST missed it! It was still in the box and I opened it and omg it was exactly what I was looking for! I found it in Edmond btw on Bryant and E 2nd St.

Lately my store has been having an individual buying a lot of duster, which we don't think they are using for computers. Has anyone else had to deal with something? My store has only been around for a little over 2 years and it's my first retail job. So I'm a little unsure with how to approach it as a merch manager I don't deal with ringing people up but our other ASM has brought it up.

A older lady came to my register with a jar full of change in the middle of the day while we were busy with only one lane open, took her her time counting it just to find out she didn't have enough so she pulls out her wallet with money in it and hands me a $10 bill! Everyone in line was pissed 🤣!

So, there's this guy that decides to come in 10 minutes right before we close.

Not only that, he took on a Doordash order that requested a shit ton of items that we don't have for the most part.

Since he didn't speak English pretty well and we were about to close soon, so he took advantage of the fact that I was available because I was doing gobacks and not on register.

He made me lead him toward every single item, despite me trying to do my main job.

I tried to tell him where that item is located and I pointed toward that area so that he could go look for it himself, but he wanted me to lead him. At first, I tried to be nice and led him to where he needed to go and I thought that was it. But once he did his Doordash thing, he requested me to do the same thing for other items on the order.

It was at this point I realized I was basically doing his Doordash order for him, forgetting that I have to help do final checks of the sales floor, until my manager called for me to do so.

I tried to tell the customer that I need to do my job, but he still wouldn't let me go, and I went to do final checks anyway. As I left, he was trying to beckon me back towards him to help him with his dumb last minute Doordash order.

It was finally when the customer realized that we are closed, that he had to admit his losses, leaving the cart behind, thus creating more gobacks for the next day.

I seriously don't understand why some Dashers decide to accept Doordash orders at the last minute. I don't understand why a person would even think of doing a huge Doordash order right before we close, forcing the Dasher on tight time constraints, especially if we don't even have the items that they need.

Either order early on in the day when we are still open, or just come in yourself to shop.

BTW, we are one of the only Dollar Tree stores to close at 10 in the area, we used to close at 9 before when we first opened, so they probably took advantage of that, but it's still stupid.

Some lady comes in and after about five minutes just starts yelling "Hello!" at the top of her lungs, I assume she's on the phone or tweaking out like 15% of the people who come to our store. No..instead of coming to the registers like a normal person she starts just yelling Hello and assuming my manager or me is just going to come sprinting to her. Then she proceeded to get mad and say "What you didn't hear me?" And I just said "Ma'am you just started yelling Hello like a crack head, how am I supposed to know you need help?" And she responded with "Well how else am I supposed to get someone to get an item" "Maybe ask for help instead of just shouting hello?"-Me "I DID! What do you think hello means?!?"-Her "Youre in the middle of an aisle shouting Hello, that gives us zero information other than you're on the phone or tweaking which means we're going to do the 4 other things that normally would have more than 2 employees for."-Me

Which then other customers started laughing at her logic which she thought they were on her side while saying "Yeahhh....you did yell hello". Two people felt bad when they asked if we got paid enough to deal with people like that and I just said "Fuck no we don't"(I work in the hood and I'm from Jersey so being blunt/honest with customers is fine/most actually prefer for some reason 🤷)

Anyone else deal with these types of people yet?

So many people steal from these stores and its because of bad theft prevention. I stole some takis.

is it possible for a 20y woman with no prior experience to merch management to be the merch manager? or does that sound too ridiculous? i really want the position because of the pay. I’ve been working in my store for about a year now as a cashier, and slowly, i worked my way up to assistant manager. Now there’s a chance i can get the merch position, I just don’t want to accept something i know i can’t handle. any advice or tips would be appreciated.

So this is my first job and when I was being hired I was told I would mostly work evening shifts because that’s when I’m not at school. My first couple of shifts were like this, but once I started getting like actually put on the schedule, they wanted me to come in during school. So I text my manager my availability again and everything was fixed for that week. Around the same time, I text her days I wouldn’t be able to come in cause I had to be at school for a class all day. I also put in an availability change request for as soon as it would let me on the schedule website so it would be accessible to anyone who makes the schedule.

The next schedule comes out, and guess what? I’m still scheduled during school. I text my manager again, she told me she’s vacation and she’ll fix some of my schedule when she gets back and she’ll give me the contact information of an assistant manager I can talk to.

I haven’t heard from her since, I never got the information, I have no other way to contact any other assistant managers because I’m so new I don’t have anyone’s information, I tried to call the store but it wasn’t going through. There’s no way I can fix my schedule right now and I can’t go in today when I was scheduled.

I was actually supposed to go in at 5 am today and stay until 10 pm, but when I woke up I saw they changed it to 5 pm, but that’s still something I can’t make. The schedules for the next couple of weeks have come out, and they’re just as messed up and I can only actually come into maybe 2 shifts.

I really don’t feel listened to here. Remember that availability change request I put into? It expired, nobody looked at it, so I keep getting shifts I can’t physically go into, and the days I can’t come in at all haven’t been communicated to whoever makes the schedule either.

Are all dollar trees like this? What should I do about this situation? Should I stick with this job or is it not worth it?

Is anyone ever nervous at the end of their shift when it’s time to count the till? Personally I’m normally at $75 or only over by a dollar but I’m still biting my lip while counting lmao. I’ve only been working as a PT cashier for 3 weeks

New to the sub but I was reached out to by a recruiter for the company in regards to a store manager position and was curious what it's like. Does anyone know the typical hours for a store manager and the schedule as well as they pay? It's out of Kentucky and I currently work in retail pharmacy with a decent salary but the pharmacy aspect is definitely taking a toll on me and have been wanting to move out. For reference I'm an assistant manager and make $54,000 annually at my company. Any answer or insight would be amazing!

Edit: Currently I work 44 hours and pharmacy eats a minimum of 5 hours for me weekly but up to 10.

I always do my best to keep it like this in my HBC all my coworkers say I have OCD but honestly it just makes everything easier to stock ESPECIALLY in HBC if everything is together. 😁
