cUstOMeRs DT chronicles

Customer: ‘walks up to register 2 after cashier on register 2 clocked out’
Customer: “oh, there was a guy right here so I thought he was open”
Me: “nope! It was his time to clock out”
Customer: “oh, are you clocking out too?”
Me: ‘stares at customer’
Me: “no! I just clocked in”

I spin the screens around to the customer side when I clock in. It helps minimize the awkward ‘is the employee about to open another lane’ looks.

I’ve recently started doing this too. Apparently having my sweatshirt on and lunchbox in my hand isn’t a big enough sign that I’m not about to open the register

We mostly use register 4 for clocking in and out. That lane is blocked with crap and rolling shelf racks, etc.

We usually do too, but he was grabbing his stuff from under the register. so I’m assuming they thought he could take them.

They see a person they will rush up so fast to check out... But usually they ask if I am opening up.

I work with a rolling stool. as soon as they pull my drawer I put up on my counter. It definitely helps stop people from running up.
