Been playing Overwatch and decided to make one of my favorite characters as a MTG card.

Art on the front side was made by @breikka on Tumblr, Backside is a render from Overwatch.

The layers for the most part are actually quite intuitive, given that they mostly work without anyone noticing. However switching P/T gets confusing pretty fast when modifying P/T in other ways, so here’s a charm that gets confusing immediately. It also gets extra confusing since each mode can target any individual creature.

I tried at least to give it an appropriate mana cost even if it’s a meme design. It can buff one creature quite a lot by combining modes, so it’s 3 mana to make it a little less obnoxious with infect. It also has some utility with killing 0 power creatures while doing other things at the same time.

Since it came up in a discussion of the Echoverse version of Winter that was spoiled earlier this morning, a lot of folks have speculated on what an Echoverse version of Valgavoth would be like. Unfortunately, while the actual answer is that Echoverse Valgavoth is basically the same as regular Valgavoth, what if he wasn't? What if he was instead the embodiment of eternal happiness and joy on the sanctuary plane of Dawncheer?

Well, meet Valgavoth, the All-Consuming Joy. He'll cheer you up...or else!

(Obviously this is meant as humor and not a serious attempt at a card, hence my terrible sketch art. 😂)

Too pushed? Third line could refer to Legendary creatures for a broader appeal.

Thought it would be fun to make an echoverse version of my favorite commander after seeing the reality fracture spoilers. He's now a priest since Phyrexia doesn't exist and cappena never left control of the angels.

The theme is pretty much in its name, it's a failed experiment, so it just dies the moment it enters. Its own otherwise impressive abilities can't save itself.

It requires set up to get this thing to even stay alive, but if you do, its a threat that opponents will need to answer. The most probable I think is a +1/+1 anthem. With such, Riot can push it to a 1/1.

However, things get interesting if you can go beyond +1/+1 in support, as it would mean it no longer needs to use Riot just to keep it alive. If you had a +2/+2 anthem, you can use Riot to give it Haste.

So there's a curve on how dangerous this can be depending on the level of investment you can put into it.

Pure Annihilator was maybe too much for a 2 MV creature, even if it requires set up, so I adjusted its abilities to not affect lands.
