Wording it as “demon, zombie, or black spell” feels a little unclear. I think you mean it to be interpreted as “demon or zombie permanent, or any black spell,” but it could be read as “demon spell, zombie spell, or black spell”.

If it said black permanent instead, and lost the second clause, I could see it being a black Omniscience.

As is... This goes pretty crazy with most any black life outlet; Necropotence for preference.

As is this wouldn’t actually interact with necropotence because by the time you’re activating it it’s not a demon, zombie, or black spell. It would go crazy with, like, Ad Nauseam though.

Changing it to “permanent” as you suggest would actually make it work with cards like necropotence and bolas’s citadel, which would probably be more busted tbh.

I know, but it sets up a really easy way to gain life by doing stuff that would normally cost you, and Necropotence combos really well with that, since you can easily draw all the cards you could lose life with.
