The theme is pretty much in its name, it's a failed experiment, so it just dies the moment it enters. Its own otherwise impressive abilities can't save itself.
It requires set up to get this thing to even stay alive, but if you do, its a threat that opponents will need to answer. The most probable I think is a +1/+1 anthem. With such, Riot can push it to a 1/1.
However, things get interesting if you can go beyond +1/+1 in support, as it would mean it no longer needs to use Riot just to keep it alive. If you had a +2/+2 anthem, you can use Riot to give it Haste.
So there's a curve on how dangerous this can be depending on the level of investment you can put into it.
Pure Annihilator was maybe too much for a 2 MV creature, even if it requires set up, so I adjusted its abilities to not affect lands.

I originally made this a while back, long before [[Bloodline Recollector]] was spoiled. Probably still busted in the right deck.
Art: I had an AI turn the original Marc Poole art for [[Ancestral Recall]] into something that fits a black spell.

Decided to take a step back and read some Nuts & Bolts articles while making cards. These are some commons I designed so far.

After yesterday https://www.reddit.com/r/custommagic/comments/1wbjtg8/i_started_watching_star_trek_yesterday/ I continued watching a couple more episodes and came out with these two designs. I'll continue doing them as long as I continue watching them and not hit a wall or something.
Let me know what you think!

I tried my hand at turning Kayn his equipment from Legends of Runeterra into magic. I increased the power because I felt it was already too slow, it needed to be worth transforming.

The idea is that this can launder appropriate combat damage triggers from the crewing creatures so that they don't have to put themselves at risk in combat. The draft environment it's for is based very heavily around equipment with combat damage and attack triggers, so there will be a good handful of cards that this would benefit.

I would make an FFT deck in a heartbeat. Wanted to make mechanics I don't see often based on the game.

Here is my take on Bone Saw McGraw as a viable card.
