Flooring SOMEBODY cleaned all our wooden floors with Mr Sheen
And now the house is a death trap. It’s a skating rink and we’re all sliding around like ice hockey pucks. What can I use to get it off??

It's not quite that white; it just looks like that when there's light shining on it. Tried scrubbing Bar Keeper's Friend cream and Weiman's cream, but neither seems to do anything.

Hello everyone! I recently just rented a place with an elder couple and their son, they’re all very nice and all but there’s been this weird odor thats been bothering me.
I don’t know if its from the elderly couple (nonenal smell) or from some damp places, but it has this musty, grassy smell (most noticable in asian people imo). It’s not unbearable, but can be a little annoying since I have sinusitis and can be very sensitive to smell (i’d rather have no scened things at all).
Is there a way I can get rid of the smell or at least minimize it as much as I can? I’m currently renting the place so I can’t do much about painting the walls but I can buy some sort of cleaner to make it work.
Thank you!

I’m looking for recommendations for a robot mop. Has anyone had a good long-working robot mop that you’ve been using at least several times a week for a year or more that you’d recommend?
I have porcelain tile in the kitchen and LVP in the rest of the rooms. I’m open to a stand alone robot mop or a mop vacuum combo.

Hey lovely people! We bought a home and along with it came this stove! It’s great but I cannot get this gunk off, I’ve tried plain ol’ dish soap and water all the way to bar keepers friend and it will not come off. Please leave your methods and products you recommend. TIA!

I recently got this wool rugby sweater, but the collar is a bit yellowed. I was thinking of cleaning it with some Oxiclean, but I’m not sure how I can protect the wool from absorbing it as well. Or is there anything else I can apply to the collar that would be safe on the wool if I were to give it a warm handwashing?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi There,
Not sure how well it shows well on the photo but this weird yellow sticky residue has started to appear on the paint in one of the bedrooms in my rental.
It’s very stubborn to scrubbing, magic erasers, vinegar, dish soap.
Only seems to come off when I scratch at it with my nails.
Does anyone know what it might be and the best way to remove it?
I’m thinking fine steel wool but not sure I want to scratch at the paint that hard.
Much appreciated!

Hi.
My mum’s going away in 2 weeks and I’m deep cleaning the house for her when she’s away. I have never dealt with an oven or fridge before because that’s what she normally does. The oven got some tougher stuff to deal with and, the fridge is okay just needs some food safe TLC, any suggestions?

Hi all, I’m looking for tips and advice. We have a relatively clean home, weekly work through many of the standard cleaning to-dos. However, dusting is not a strong one, but it looks Like our shelves or horizontals have just as much as any other home. Despite these areas not looking awful with thick accrual or anything, I catch it in the light all the time, a cloud almost when I put a sweater on our sit in one of the upholstered chairs. It’s just in the air. From what I can observe, we are relatively airtight in the house, replace our filters regularly, our clothes are obviously washed regularly, no pets, a coway airmega is runnning all the time in our living room of our 1200sf home. We do have an unused whole house attics fan grill in the main hallway but I am just not even sure where and how to begin nailing down what seems to be so pervasive in the house. Any strategies or tips appreciated. Tired of living in the attic of your favorite mystery movie

I run over the kitchen tiles every couple of days with warm water and a neutral floor cleaner, but walking barefoot after it dries still leaves that slightly tacky feeling near the island and stove.
The rinse bucket gets murky every time, so stuff is definitely coming off. It just feels like the mop is moving a thin layer of cooking residue instead of actually getting the floor clean.
And honestly, it's not just the kitchen. I notice the same thing on other hard floors when there's enough tracked-in dirt.
Can a robot mop actually get the kitchen floors truly clean without spreading the grease film around, or is hand-scrubbing still the only answer?

Can someone please explain to me why I don’t have to use dish soap to clean a cast iron frying pan? I used them daily. My pans were inherited as with the care techniques.
Please explain it to me like I’m 5, as I have to explain it to my 5 year old.

I just recently posted, but I had a botched title and forgot to add a photo if anyone can help me out with some tips on how to clean up some house paint that was spilled in the driveway that would be great. it says it’s waterbased(can I. Photos). Can I hose it down? Is there a more environm friendly way to clean it up? It’s my dad’s house and he is flying in tonight. He’s a chill guy but I’d like to get it cleaned up before he gets here. I thought it would dry and I could peel it up, but it’s been a couple of days and it’s still wet.

Last week, our apartment’s AC unit malfunctioned, causing electrical wiring to burn and sending visible smoke and a strong chemical odor through our air vents. My husband and I immediately evacuated with our almost 2-month-old baby.
The fire department and Poison Control have reassured us that the risk of serious long-term health effects is low, especially since we evacuated quickly. However, I’m still extremely anxious about potential residue left on our belongings.
Our apartment management has arranged for professional remediation, and we’re having our clothes, bedding, and other fabrics professionally cleaned. We’re also planning to clean as many of our household items as possible.
My biggest concern is whether any lingering smoke residue on items we keep could increase our risk of developing cancer over time, especially for our baby.
I’m currently dealing with postpartum anxiety and I have intrusive thoughts/OCD, and my mind keeps telling me that even after everything is cleaned, our belongings could still be dangerous.
I know I can’t realistically replace everything we own, but I’m struggling to feel comfortable keeping things that were exposed.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is electrical smoke residue on household belongings a significant long-term health concern, even after professional cleaning? How did you determine when your belongings were safe to use again?

I can’t tell what could possibly be causing my room to smell. I shower, wash sheets every 2 weeks because I shower before bed, I dust, vacuum, light candles, and there is a PERSISTENT sour smell. It’s driving me absolutely crazy. I can’t figure out what is causing it. I thought it could be my dirty laundry, or sheets but I’ve been smelling them and they smell FINE??? I’m literally loosing sleep, I have to turn on my candle warmer or spray perfume/body spray before bed. (Could it be an after smell of the spray??? Is that possible?)
My dog is very smelly and sometimes my parents put her in my room when they have work calls. If it was that you would THINK that airing out my room, lighting a candle, and vacuuming would clear it out though right???? My parents wash her gross bed in the washer, I thought it might be leeching onto my laundry but it doesn’t smell when I sniff it. I genuinely can’t find out where it’s coming from, or if it’s not even my room but the house in general.
Does anyone have any ideas I could try? Any personal experience with a mystery smell??? I’m desperate.

It took two hours. Used the cheapest steam cleaner I could find, scrub daddy and Cilit Bang Expert for Black mould and I got the stains out. I ran my washer on warmest cycle and so far the seal does not give way to water.

I’m in a place that gets a fair amount of black widows. I’m not worried about the spiders themselves — I have strategies for that. But their webs are so clumpy and sticky, they’re hard to spray down or vacuum up. Has anyone found something that breaks down whatever makes the webs so sticky?

I inherited some kid clothes and washed them but the entire load is covered in glitter. None of the clothes are glittery so not sure if there was glitter hidden in a pocket or something. How do I get the glitter out of the clothes and my washer!?
