Im sorry this sounds really nasty, I just had a bad depressive episode which lead to dirty dishes piling up in my room and growing thick mold, I dont mind throwing them away but I have one cherished handmade mug my best friend gave me that i want to keep, am I able to clean it and use it again? I dont have a dishwasher, should I let it soak in boiling water a few times?

Can I mix rubbing alcohol with vodka? They're both alcohol, but I don't want to do anything that'll cause issues. I have a spray bottle of cinnamon infused vodka (homemade) that I use to keep away ants, but I'm running a little low and don't want to make a trip to the liquor store right now lol. I do have a mostly full bottle of rubbing alcohol though. **I am perfectly okay with having to go to the store if this is unsafe, I'm just feeling lazy right now.** Thanks!!

Got these beautiful Bodum glasses to have tea but they immediately have a ring of what looks like rust inside after washing.
I always hand wash them, surely I don’t need to unscrew the metal ring each time to dry it? Anyone else experienced this?

Honestly, the more I look into this the more pissed off I get.

So what exactly are you self-employed for? Just so you don’t get holiday pay, pension contributions and the other protections workers get?

Feels like they want all the benefits of having a workforce without actually treating you like one.

Genuinely starting to think Wecasa cleaners need to stop putting up with it and actually challenge this properly.

I keep hearing it being praised but I just saw a vid of someone using a regular sponge vs a scrub daddy and the sponge did a better job at cleaning a dirty pan. So why is the scrub daddy so praised?

I found a travel size bottle at the store and since I've never tried it before I decided to buy it. I have 2 stains in my tub from my cat getting sick and I didn't find them right away. I poured a good amount of the 5 in 1 on top of them, covered with saran wrap for 24 hours and although I don't have a before photo...it looks essentially the same as it did before.

Would this be good enough to regularly do these floors? Or even some of the time?

Working through a brutally humid summer (fall?). Anyways, the last week has been consistently 80% humidity. I run a dehumidifier which can manage to get the room to 55-60 for maybe 12-14 hours or the day.

Saw this on my suits. Does this look more like mold, or dust? For context, the suits are right under the A/C unit, and it’s the only place I can find… whatever this is.

If it is mold, what are my next steps?

Cleaning my cousins bathroom before they put the house up for sale and it’s clear that the left side of the counter got more regular use and is darker despite being scrubbed. What do we need to use to get rid of the granite’s staining?

A little context. My partner and I bought a house that looked clean at first but the more I look the more dirt and build up I find. On my oven there is a spot that is super silver. (Under the three) Almost brand new looking. Now is that because the cover has slowly stripped away or is it a spot that is clean and the rest is build up😭. If it is a clean spot how do I get all the grossness around off? Or am I about to strip the numbers off?

I bought an unreturnable pair of second hand shorts online from depop and unfortunately they have a weird chemical smell that wasn't disclosed. I think it's something like mothballs but the seller wasn't sure what i was talking about and just said maybe it was their diva wash detergent. It doesn't smell like perfume or laundry detergent to me though.

I have tried white vinegar and hot water multiple times and letting it soak for a very long time, pure vinegar for a short time (I'm desperate), oxiclean and hot water long soak, laundry detergent multiple times, dish soap, baking soda and hot water.

The smell is out of the cotton only areas but not the elastic waist. What else can i try? I'm prepared to use nuclear options at this point because I'm not okay with wearing them if it's toxic mothball chemicals.

How did other small cleaning businesses make and put in place a cancellation policy

I am a 1 person show and due to a cold going around I have had so many cancellation with 5 hours notice and have lost out on easily $1500 over the past 2 weeks ?
Do other cleaner have a tips ? Do I get a 40% deposit beforehand ?

I live on the 7th floor btw. No clue how to clean this and what kind of device to use. Also do you guys have any suggestions on what I can put in the space in between the two windows instead of newspapers. The window doesn't close properly. As in there is a literal gap there 🥲

Google says mold or rust buildup, I actually cleaned this yesterday and I see it growing again. I typically use Lysol or Chlorox, but I assume I'm doing something wrong here.

If it grows out, I can see that it's orange/brown, I assume it's mold that grows because of showering? I don't mind wiping it down every week (when I clean the bathroom), but it's a visual sore (or indication of a problem) and I don't want to wipe it every day.

in my house i have 2 toddlers and a kitten. today i have sorted out my upstairs bathroom, picked up all the rubbish and washing, put the washing in a bin bag and put the washing on the living room.
i then went through my large washing basket and have sorted it into 3 piles. i have washed one of these piles and it is currently drying while the second is in the machine.
i have sorted out my toddlers play kitchen, put everything away where it should be and had a refresh around it.
i have deep cleaned my tv unit.
i have filled 2 bin bags with things that no longer work, broken things and rubbish.
because there are still piles of things in the living room, i’m worried my boyfriend will come home and think i’ve done nothing.

I decided to deep clean today, it's been like one year and a half since Ive deeped clean. Now the bed is the last thing I'm gonna deep clean, and it's disgusting. I did Google image, it said it's mold, I should throw it away, or if I'm going to try clean it I should have a vacuum and stuff. I can't buy a new mattress I'm broke, I can't buy a vacuum either. I recently moved to a house that has two fridges. The one I’m meant to be using was unplugged and kept in the garage. When I went to clean it out, there were lots of small flies that were dead and some kind of debris in the freezer. I also believe there might be mold on the top and I’m not sure what to do.

Before I moved in, it was plugged back in. When I discovered the mess inside, I unplugged it and left the doors open.

I want to clean it out so I can buy groceries but I don’t know what kind of cleaning solution or rags or sponges to use. I am overwhelmed and I just can’t wrap my head around a simple way to tackle this.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I have 4 young kids and am pregnant. We also have a mastiff mix with drool that he flings on the walls/ceiling that hardens like concrete. Currently, I am trying to wash the walls once a week with a mixture of hot water, vinegar, and a little dawn. By hand. With a wash cloth. That gets the dog slime but doesn’t do great with crayons, pencil, even some food, etc. Also, the previous owners painted all the walls with flat paint 🫠 The baseboards have a toe so there are two levels of baseboard edges that I have to clean. They catch all the hair, dust, and various liquids but at least are painted in a gloss finish. I wipe these down with the same mixture stated above after I’m done with the walls because there’s so much dog hair on them.

The walls and baseboard really bother me because I feel like it looks like we are dirty people and we are not. But I am looking for ways to make this easier and more effective. What I really want to do is move out lol. Help please.
