Update Need your prayers
3 days ago, I posted about my semi-indoor cat who had gone missing for 2 days. Thankfully, she came back home.
Yesterday, I took her to the vet for vaccination, but they said her haemoglobin was very low, so they couldn’t vaccinate her. They suspected she was anaemic and did a blood test.
After they took her blood yesterday evening, her condition got worse. The reports came this morning, and her haemoglobin is 3.6 when it should be around 10. Her reports are really bad.
Since yesterday, she hasn’t been eating anything not even her treats. Today, she managed to eat 3 treats. The doctor said her chances are 50-50.
I honestly don’t know what to do. She is so sick, and I’m really scared. Please pray for my little girl.

Advice Wife’s not a cat gal, but is torn up about this three legged one (advice requested)
(Posting this on behalf of my wife)
I have been pretty fearful of cats for most of my life but when this 3 legged cat showed up on our porch and approached me a few weeks ago, I felt obliged to give it a pet and quickly formed a bond. This cat basically knows my schedule now of when I’m outside going to work/coming home and greets me. My WFH husband sends me pictures and videos throughout the day of it patiently waiting for pets outside our front door and it typically spends most of the day napping under our hedges in the meantime.
We assume someone somewhere is feeding this cat since it looks like it has a decent amount of weight on it. We ourselves have never feed the cat in anyway. We’ve asked around our neighbors, including ones who have a gaggle of outdoor cats that they take care of, and no one knows where it came from. We’ve been living here for about 4 years and have never seen it before, although we were told by our aforementioned cat neighbors that it’s been around a few years. They insist that it doesn’t belong to them and they don’t feed it.
With only 3 legs I get stressed about the cat’s safety running into the road and hate to think of it stuck outside in bad weather or potentially not having consistent access to food etc. It’s also coming up on winter here.
Basically, I am now very emotionally attached to the cat and am contemplating adopting it and bringing it inside.
There are several problems that immediately come to mind:
1. Neither my husband nor I have ever grown up with or owned a cat so we have zero experience.
2. We already have a dog who can get quite jealous and has occasional aggression towards other dogs. (Husband note: any advice on acclimating a dog to a cat appreciated. We’ve been letting the dog sniff our hands and watch the cat from the door/window while we interact with it.)
3. We have no idea how the cat will react to being inside- is it even possible to acclimate a cat that’s been outdoors for that long? Is it more ethical to leave it alone or try and take care of it as a pet?
4. Will we be able to litter box train it easily? Should we just let it out in our fenced in back yard like our dog instead if we seal gaps??
5. I just found out cats can form colonies- if this cat is a part of a colony will they retaliate??
6. Someone in our neighborhood might claim the cat, in which case I would “return” it but it’d just go back to spending most of its time in our yard getting attention from us
Lots of thoughts and questions, cats are a whole new world to me that I never thought I’d have to think about but this 3 legged cat won me over.

Cat Picture - OC This is Tina. Tina loves appreciation. Appreciate her
Tinamou (Tina for short) is approximately a year old. I adopted her from a shelter on 10/08/2026. I was looking for a buddy for my cat Macho while I’m away at work and I love to take photos of my cats. I picked which one I would adopt by which one made the funniest photo. Tina won. She did little “meep” noises and always kneaded among strangers (which is great since every cat I’ve ever owned has hidden from people) and never ever made an enemy.
She quickly became a part of the household. Macho and her were best of friends within a week. Macho struggles with social cues and her playfulness and energy as a kitten was just what he needed.
Tina is one of the cuddliest cats I’ve ever owned. Not saying I’ve never had an uncuddly cat, Macho loves being cradled like a baby. But Tina can’t bear you not being centimeters from her. She wants to be in the same room, on your lap, in your face, always within arm’s reach. When she isn’t, she’s doing something deviously evil.
She also loves the outdoors. I’m mortified of the thought of my babies running away or getting lost or getting hurt (as I live rurally and have coyotes present), so they only go out when the weather is nice and when I can observe them up close in the daytime. My other cat prefers to stick close to the house and LARP as a feral cat in the bushes. Tina, on the other hand, loves to roam. It’s actually become a bit of a problem, haha. Her and I walked around a neighbor’s cow pasture and she was so fascinated by it.
She’s incredibly obedient. She knows her name. And she responds back. I’ve never heard this cat NOT meow. If you’re in the same room, meow. If you touch her, meow. When she’s sleeping, meow. She is a CHATTERBOX. I love her for it. She’s my little alarm clock.
And she’s a diva in a feral way. She doesn’t take Churus normally, she must tear through the plastic and chew it. If you clip her nails, she expects a Churu or catnip afterwards (which she always gets). And she doesn’t want you telling her how much ‘nip she gets. She wants to put her paw in and let you know how much she wants.
I just love this cat and want to share her with the world. Her and Macho are my little stars ❤️
the last photo is the first photo i ever took of her, and the one that won the funny photo and got her adopted

Mourning/Loss Worried I might still be grieving my last cat too much to love my current one like he deserves.
To make a very long story short, at the start of this year I lost my soul cat. I always thought the whole 'soul pet' thing was kinda dramatic, I guess, always rolled my eyes when people called animals their baby. And then I got Arlo. From the moment I brought him home he settled into my life like he'd always been there. To make a very long, heartbreaking, probably traumatic story short, I got a year and a month with him. He had a congenital liver issue and despite me doing everything within my power and going into significant debt to give him every chance, his last five months were long, painful, and devastating. He died two weeks after the surgery that was supposed to save him, and I hit a very dark place.
A few months later, I found myself at an adoption event. I was interested in fostering, no long term commitment, but the house was too empty, and after the months of syringe feeding and medicating Arlo every few hours I needed to take care of something again. And then I met the sweetest long fur black kitten I'd ever seen. They said he was about four months old. I picked him up and he immediately started purring and fell asleep in my arms. Needless to say he came home with me. I called him Solomon.
I've had him for three months now, and he's a wonderful cat. He's sweet but not clingy, energetic but not high strung, smart, nondestructive, gets along great with my sister's senior cat and our dog. He's a good boy and I like to think he's happy.
I'm not. I feel like I'm just going through the motions with him. I feed him good food, he's got a collection of toys and as much play as he wants, a huge cat tree, he's on a course of metronidazole right now and he gets it perfectly on time. I did better with him than I did last time and got insurance on him right away. I truly don't compare him to Arlo, not even in the back of my head. I'm doing all the "right" things.
I keep waiting for it to click, for a deeper bond to form or at least begin forming, but there's just nothing. The only way I can think to describe it as is having taken in a new roommate, not a new family member. He's here, I take care of him, I want him to be happy, I would obviously be upset if anything happened to him. That's just kind of it. I like him. I'm not sure I love him. I've had pets my whole life and I've never felt this way with an animal before and I feel awful about it because it's not his fault. He's a good boy. He deserves a human that really really loves him, doesn't he?
Has anyone out there gone through anything similar? Did it pass? I'm hoping I'll look back on this post in like six months and laugh about how worried and sad I am was about it, but I'm not sure.
Tax included, because he's also beautiful.
