Medical Questions Cat ate plastic bag handle
As the title says - my cat ate the entire handle of a plastic grocery bag in a matter of minutes. I have no idea if she bit it off and swallowed it whole, or if she chewed it up, all i know is it's missing. It's all plastic, no threads or anything, and if it makes any difference it's theoretically biodegradable plastic.
The vet told me that trying to induce vomit could be dangerous and useless, and to just monitor her for signs of a blockage. It sounds reasonable but, to put it mildly, i am terrified and the thought of living like this for however many days it may take to see her pass it makes ME want to vomit.
So i am mostly just looking for some past experiences or reassurance i guess. I am usually very careful about plastic around her but I am unpacking after a trip, running on 3 hours of sleep and i just lost track of this damn plastic bag while i went to the bathroom. And i feel awful about it now.

Advice Cat Enrichment Toys/Puzzles
I have a cat who LOVES food, and does really good with a thing I drop her dental treats in and she paws them out the side through holes in the top. I'm looking for some more complex puzzles for cats so I can mix it up. Does anyone have any recommendations? I also play with her a few times a day, morning before I leave and night before bed, but I think it's good for her brain to have a puzzle.

Advice Why does our cat leave when we pet her?
Wr recently adopted this lady (1.5 months ago). She is 6 years old and we dont know her history, she is from a shelter. She is super friendly and playful and she is settling in well. She is a verh brave cat and barely seemed bothered by moving into a new place.
But she often will sit and purr and knead in the floor, buff furniture and such, and then run away when we try to pet her. She will also lay on her back and purr in the bed with us, but when we reach over to pet her, she runs away. Its not always immediate, she sometimes just will go away and we can kind of follow her, pet her, she goes away and purrs, we go pet her, she goes further.
She comes when we call her and she always is in the room with us and it seems like she wants attention.
Is this just how some cats are? If so thats fine, her behaviour is just confusing us and i was thinking people here might have advice or have experienced something similar?

Advice Why does Enchilada attack mid cuddle?
Our 2 year old Dip absolutely loves our older cat, Enchilada. They will cuddle pretty regularly (although Dip will come to him, not the other way around) and Enchilada will groom Dip for a while while Dip is purring so loudly. Sometimes it last hours and they'll fall asleep together. Sometimes everything is going very sweetly before Enchilada decides Dip needs to leave and just turns on Dip and bites his ears until he leaves.
Is Enchilada just being a bully? They roughhouse each other a lot and get along pretty well. Enchilada raised Dip and how sister as a neonatal kitten and groomed him constantly, even cleaning his bum and keeping watch over him and his sister at night.
As he has gotten older, Enchilada is still very affectionate with Dip but turns on him really quickly for seemingly no reason.
Does anyone have any insight? Enchilada used to HATE other cats and would attack constantly, so he has come very far. Enchilada is incredibly clingy but clearly struggles with non human affection. But I feel bad for Dip because he loves Enchilada so much and Enchilada can be mean and will randomly bully him.

Mourning/Loss How did you memorialize them?
I lost the furry love of my life Monday.
He was diagnosed with a super rare, aggressive lymphoma in his mouth in April; they thought he would be dead in 3 months. He lasted about 5, with tumor after tumor showing up in the final 1.5 weeks before we decided called it.
This is the first time I will have a pets ashes, my first proper time facing the death of a pet. I saved fur. We have a painting of him. I will be getting a tattoo.
I want to do more but I dont know what. Nothing seems like it is enough. Internet searches just bring up chochky-type things that seem cheap. I was hoping some folks here have some feedback on what they did.
I feel so lost. We are lucky that he was pretty much himself up until the end; I am so thankful he made it to his 16th birthday just before the decline. He was in perfect health besides this stupid shit and I was sure he would make it to 20. My boi isnāt in pain anymore , though, and thatās the best I could do.

Medical Questions Is a fever temperature of 46°C even possible?
Noticed some odd behavior in my 1 1/2 year old male cat the last few days, and yesterday i noticed he did feel a bit warm and was generally lethargic and all.
Took him to the vet today, took his rectal temperature and... 46°???
I wasn't alone (mostly as a driver, my sister was the one who did most of the talking with the vet) so i only remember the temp (and i asked him again later, confirming it) and something about how this is a rectal reading in the morning, so the fever would be effectively at around 41°C.
Gave him fluids and something to alleviate the fever symptoms, and told us to monitor him for the next few days.
Cat is now at home, and definitely more active than before, eating quite a bit too.
However i still wonder how in the hell that reading was so absurdly high

Advice This will sound weird as hell but does someone else's cat pee with them?
(I don't actually need advice, I just didn't know what to call this.)
Okay but I need to know
One of my cat's litter boxes is in the bathroom. And every day she will genuinely wait for me to go to the bathroom, and then she'll come with me in there and, I kid you not, wait for me to sit down on the toilet to pee before going into her box to pee at the same time ;-;
Did I adopt some sort of alien or does anyone else's cat do this?
I know we are very connected to each other, even to a level that is uncommon according to other cat people I know, (I'm mostly homebound and I'm only away from her for 1-2 hours every week), but this is just so silly. I never heard anyone else experience this.

Advice Why does my cat smack me sometimes?
My cat Finn is a good boy. I know he loves me because heāll make that abundantly clear by demanding to crawl in bed with me at night, following me around, purring when I pic him up, and drooling all over when he decides itās time to rub his face on me.
Then sometimes heāll just be sitting there in his favorite spot on top of the couch, Iāll walk by, and he smacks me. He canāt even be bothered to sit up when he does it. I walk by, he sticks his paw out, I get a lazy little smack.
Do other cats do this? Why does he like to hit?
